I got interested in Football card collecting after my brother mentioned it in a group chat and showed the cards. He started talking about it and I realized how much it's changed...drastically in the last 30 years since I last collected. So I used Yelp to see what card shops were near me and found AZ Sports Cards. Went after work on a Tuesday in the last hour they are open. Place was fairly busy with a good half dozen people looking at stuff. Store is nice the way it's arranged and seems organized very well. I'll have to go here again earlier to really fully take it in. The lady helped me (I didn't catch her name but think it's an older couple that own the store). She was very friendly and helped explained some things and answered all my questions as I told her how I was returning to the hobby and how it's changed. She even took down boxes off the shelves to show me the differences in them! I ended up getting a hobby box of Panini Zenith cards. They were slightly marked up but hey they gotta make a profit too and she gave me 5% off. She gave me a free pack of baseball cards and I also bought some sleeves. Can't wait to go back again and spend more time poking around. Will be back for sure! Oh they have drawings too and she gave me a bunch of tickets for it from my purchase. read more

Went to sell a wemby silver revolutions PSA 10 and he offered me 40$ claiming past sales are closer to 80$. Not the best look when everyone has access to comps and they're closer to 150~200. Last 80$ sale was March.. he did gave me some sleeves to protect my slabs so that was nice of him. read more

I came here to find out about selling a jersey of mine actually too, but they did explain to me how to get them authenticated to prove they are legitimate, but the owner gave me a really hard time about coming in with my dog despite that he is a registered service dog non-dog just to keep you calm or social emotional support but in the actual ADA dog, he gave me a really really hard time so for that customer service gets a one he was not friendly actually most the staff wasn't friendly because obviously when I knew my rights, the owner got mad so they backed him up with his attitude. It is a nice door. They have some good selections obviously but will I return no just based off of the lack of customer service and friendliness I would not want to do business there. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Tried to buy something and lady hung up on me. Was totally kind and asking for help and she just would not talk to me. Hope the owner sees this and realizes that they lost a simple sale. read more

John is by far one of the most honest and professional card shop owners in the state of Arizona. He takes care of his customers, old or new, with respect. Anyone and everyone gets fair offers on card or memorabilia trade ins. The amount of knowledge he has as well as his associates is priceless. My boys and I would never go anywhere else. John, Mike and the "encyclopedia" are assets to the card collecting world. read more

Best card shop in town! Great selection of hobby and retail boxes and singles for all sports. One of the few stores that has a great selection of hockey boxes and singles. My go to place for hockey. Customer service is excellent and the store is well organized and very clean. They are great with the kids too. read more

Had to stop by here to pick up a couple items and was pleasantly surprised of the amount of stuff this place has , It did have what I needed and just a plethora of other items you name it in sports they have it or know where you can get it. The gentleman who helped me was very helpful and nice , definitely a spot to check out if you are into any type of sports cards of any type. read more

Owner not familiar with items that are 'on sale' on his sales floor. He claimed to have COA, turns out his signed items were a facsimile, he had no idea. Poor follow-up and negotiation, made me wait 2 weeks to tell me he could give me 5% off another item. I had to follow up 3x to get some closure. Poorly run and unknowledgeable. Take your business elsewhere and give it to someone who appreciates their customers. I was trying to give these people my business and they could care less. read more

This is the best card store around!!! Feels like I'm a kid again ripping packs. John is a great guy and is always very helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend for anyone wanting to collect any type of sports cards read more

Dont go to this place.....the Guy is a JOKE and rip off artist. We have been investigating his sales practices for 1 month. We have taken him all graded 10 cards from PSA TO BSSG all different days so he wouldn't notice. He tried to buy are cards at 80 - 90 % what they are worth. We sold all of our cards on EBAY for a minimum of 80% of what he offered. Every time he made an excuse about the grades....like hes a guru. He told us a PSA 10 Kobe Bryant Topps Rookie card was only worth $100. Brady Rookie car $75 lmao..... WOW.... This guy has no shame....will rip you off every time. DO NOT SHOP HERE , DO NOT TRY AND SELL YOUR CARDS HERE......HE IS A PIECE OF SHIT. read more

I just started coming to this place about 6 weeks ago, and the owner, John Gola, has been extremely helpful with me in managing my cards. And Don "Cardleone" the resident "card shark" has been very patient with me. They're a world of knowledge in this place, a good resource, and easy-going. I recommend this place. read more

Always make sure I visit when I travel to AZ. New, rookies, boxes, vintage, hundreds of autos...they have it all. Quality place.

My husband stopped into the shop today and it looked very nicely laid out. The shop seems like they have quite a selection but I'm not a sports fan so I appreciated the seating by the front door instead of looking around. As I was sitting there, I took a few panoramic photos because I was impressed with the decor. I'm attaching the photos so sports fans can decide for themselves. Enjoy the view! read more

I used to love this store but recently have recieved terrible customer service. The lady that works in there always has an attitude and doesn't make you feel welcome. Never coming back again!!! It's bad enough the prices have sky rocketed but now you can't even enjoy going into your local shop without getting an attitude. Had planned on spending money locally to support the hobby but looks like eBay it is. Thanks for nothing and sports! read more

I would suggest that the proprietor of AZ Sports Cards question who they let drive their company vehicles. We just experienced them weaving in and out of traffic and driving generally in a very unsafe manor. I hope this attitude of owning the road somehow doesn't carry over to how they treat their customers. read more

No pressure and took my son looking for Pokémon cards, gentleman working was super nice and talked to my son about cards in general, even gave him a few packs of free football cards, I didn't spend a ton, but treated us like we were spending a few hundred! Earned my business going forward and wish more shops were like this. read more

First off to the guy above, you should be embarrassed to affiliate yourself with the military after a comment like that...I know I am. How about a little respect. You are the type that gives military members the stigma of selfish entitled pricks. Don's card shop has the best cards for your dollar. Only card shop in west valley for all your card needs especially Spring training and fall ball. Will let you know what works best for products for autos and even lets you try it first. read more

What a wonderful experience I just had with Don Drooker and owner John Gola! I brought my fathers vintage baseball and football cards to get valued and received a great education. I had researched values and how cards get rated and these gentlemen truly give honest valuations as well as fun stories to boot! This place is like the baseball store version of "Cheers"! Everybody knows your name! Great community. Glad to see a baseball card shop survive in the Amazon age. This place can not be beat! read more

This is hands down the best card shop I've been to in my 30 years of collecting. The owner John is extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. The staff is super friendly. They have everything from vintage cards to today's stars. Tons of choices of wax to pick from and memorabilia all over. Definitely would recommend if you have a sports fan that is in need of a gift. Keep up the good work! read more

I stopped by this shop on my day off to look around and see what they had inside and once I entered the store I was greeted and offered help but I did inform the owner that I was just looking but if I had questions I would ask. This was the best shopping experience ever cause the owner let me shop and look at the items without asking if I needed help every ten seconds (THANK GOD). I'm a Customer Service Executive for the banking industry and the service the owner gave me has made me remember that shop ever since and the owner was very friendly and also provided a story about a baseball bat that I would of never knew if I didn't ask what the difference in the bats are and once the owner heard that he had no problem sitting down and giving me the history and story of some of the bats and showed me how to spot a real game used bat versus a regular bat not used in a real MLB game. I just had to share this story with everyone looking for a nice clean shop that allows you to shop without someone on your back or trying to rip you off. read more
