Hey Yelp Friends! I was in town for the Easter weekend. I forgot to bring my shoes for pickle ball. I love Big 5! They did not disappoint. I always have such great luck with service and selection. And... prices!!! This trip was no different except my salesman. He was awesome! He was a bit camera shy, but oh so helpful and sweet. Anyways, I walked in asked for the best selection for the court in my size and he showed me the shoes. I was browsing the sale table. I always find something and yes! I found the same shoe in my size on the clearance table with an additional 20% off because they were returned. They were clean and the bottoms were mildly used. I also found a reduced price sandal for $10 brand new in my size. Score! I ended up wearing them all day. Played pickle ball, had a blast, and my feet were comfortable. I will always go to Big 5!!! They are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy, and they have the best prices!! Always checkout the sale table. Check it out for kids and adults. read more

Big 5 Sporting Goods - Sale day for new court shoes!! - Sporting Goods Near Me - Peoria, Arizona

I have been to this location twice. Both times were good experience. On one of the visits an item I wanted to purchase was missed marked. The store honored the lower price without a problem. Big 5 is smaller than Dick's Sporting Goods. They still manage to carry a decent selection of sporting goods, camping gear, and other gifts. Sporting goods includes fishing. Prices are all over the place. There are usually sales going on. Both times I ended up purchasing shoes. The "super saver" price coupled with the coupon I printed from their website was a fantastic deal. Many items that are found in store are not listed on their website. I was looking for a skateboard for my son. The website only indicated one option. In store there were more than a dozen different boards. Same went for skate shoes. Only one was shown on the website, but there were several pairs to chose from in store. read more

Conveniently located on 91st and Olive, a short jog from the Westgate Entertainment District next to the Peter Piper Pizza. The staff is very friendly. Customer service is great about exchanging my goggles and returning my shoes. They get 5 stars. Many of their shoes are on sale. They stock swim goggles and caps even when it is the off season. I am eternally grateful for this as I need some. The space is tight and cramped. They pack a lot of product in a small space. Be ready to walk single file and turn at an angle in some corners. They seem to struggle with an overflowing stock room because they had boxes of shoes on the floor as well. My son was impressed with their gun and hunting supplies. read more

Stopped in for football cleats, but not a very good selection. I had to hunt down a shoe salesman by asking the front of the store cashier. The store was clean and service ok once I was able to find an employee to help. Unfortunately we left with nothing because they had no real assortment and the only pair my son liked wasn't in his size. read more

Would love to give this 0 stars but unfortunately it's not an option so we will go with one star. Worst customer service experience ever!!! I have been in management in the customer service and I just cannot believe the utter disrespect that a so called manager would have for his customers. They have the most unprofessional so called "manager" by the name of Roberto working there. We Purchased a pair of shoes yesterday that didn't work out for my son. We couldn't locate the receipt so we went in and asked if there was any way they could look up the receipt, like the majority of other retail stores are able to do since it was literally purchased the day before. They proceeded to tell us no and that the most they could do was give us store credit for half the price of the shoes. We asked to speak to a store manager and Roberto said that all three of the employees that were standing at the register, were "the managers." He continued to laugh, mock and disrespect us which obviously angered my husband. Is this what customer service has become?! And is this how you want your leadership to treat customers that keep your store in business. I also want to make sure that I recognize another gentleman by the name of Noah. Noah remained very calm, was very professional and respectful and kindly gave us the number to file a complaint with We Care. We ended up walking back to the car and found the receipt so my husband was able to return the shoes however when my husband was walking out, Roberto threatened my husband and he told him "I get off at 9:30." We will never ever return to this store and will be filing a complaint. Maybe you need to invest in training for your management and employees. Thank you to the young lady at the counter for being so helpful I think her name was Mimi and the young man that quickly got the ladder to help! Especially after the day I had with all the other big5 stores I went into. But I'm bringing my purchases back for a refund and never doing business in a big 5 store again. Went here a lot when I lived in AZ. All the workers here were so nice and helpful from what I could remember! We would buy our snow gear/ski outfits here. They also had a good amount of boots on sale every now and then! Pretty organized and easy to find stuff at this location. read more

I went into the store on Peoria & 91st to get Cornhole boards and I noticed the store had knives so I went to look at them. Caleb was the salesperson and he was great! He was very personable and funny, it was such a fun experience. He showed me items I did know about that I will be purchasing in the future. He also went around the entire store to try to find one of the things I was looking for. After he checked me out, he was nice enough to have someone help me carry the cornhole boards out to my car. I will go back to that store just because of him and I am way closer to the Bell road location. read more

The young man working on Sunday, Sept 1, @ 9:30am should have stayed home that day for all the help he was to my husband and I in the shoe department. Shoe boxes stacked 5 ft high in the shoe aisle and I was trying to look for a certain size , he wouldn't move and he never offered any help. Because of you, the store lost 2 customers, and 2 sales that morning. Will never set foot in another Big 5 again. read more

After purchasing a sports bra duo, I noticed the blue one( the black one was fine) had a strange odor, almost like a petroleum smell. I soaked it in water/vinegar solution then washed in machine and it seemed better. After wearing, the weird, very strong smell reappeared so I soaked with baking soda. Still bad. When I attempted to return it, with receipt, the "manager" said he couldn't take it back because he couldn't resell iit because""it had been worn!!! I reminded him it was defective and wouldn't be resalable anyway!! The ones on the rack also had "that smell". The salesgirl I first encountered said she could smell the weird smell as I took it out of the bag. After no customer satisfaction, I told the poor-excuse-for-a- manager that I would take my business elsewhere. To which he replied "sounds good". I know help is hard to find, but Big 5 can do better than that! If you want customer service, avoid this location on 91st Ave in Peoria. read more

I went in here, forgetting that they sell guns, and with the help of the very helpful manager, I purchased a gun. They didn't have a great selection, but were very helpful. They always have great deals on shoes also, which kept the wife busy. read more

Good place, great service! I play a variety of sports and they carry all sorts of apparel and gear. What's great is you don't have to break the bank or break into it! I've been a long time customer at various locations for a multitude of sports and other needs . Never disappoints, and are very willing to help satisfy you. Certainly you can do a double whammy, as I have with coupons from entertainment magazine,etc. and the newspaper for example. I recommend them for quality products at a fair price. They even have good stuff for kids where you can get better wear and long lasting gear...just go one size up. G'luck! as they say down under. read more
