This company was sent by the company that sold us the spa otherwise he would have never been hired. His reviews seem to be in line with my experience. On the three different occasions he was supposed to be at the property, he was never on time. Hours late with a horrible attitude. If you think that this company/person will not do what so many others have said he did to them...BEWARE...it will happen and, unfortunately, it happened to us. We have used Mike Sprau at AZ SPA AND SERVICE for over 6 years, and unlike the complaints, we found him to be reliable and always did the work promised and treated us fairly. HOWEVER, that all ended when the exact situation arose that MANY have complained about in their reviews here. In October of 2024, we ordered a hot tub cover and gave him a deposit of $400 (we had NEVER had a reason based on past service to doubt anything nefarious would occur). After a month or so, we contacted him for updates and were told that it was on order. We contacted him at one point and he said he was in a car accident and had to buy a new car, figuring he'd get back to us in a few days, never heard from him until a week or so later we FINALLY reached him and he said he got the hot tub cover in and would be by 1/30/25 to install it between 9-11 in the morning. Yup, you guessed it, he never showed, and we have left numerous VMs and texts, and I even tried to email him to no avail. We are both retired, and our funds are not unlimited. Please heed our warning. Mike can be quite personable. In fact, we are shocked because our experience with him had been, up to this point, very positive. There were times he would come out and do work and not charge us. Honestly, we feel like fools, thinking he would never do this to us. Regarding the additional steps we've taken to contact him: We were able to contact his son, and he told us he would follow up with his father and we have not heard from him. And.... A company that uses his service actually saw him in their store and told him that we had contacted them (their store looking for him). Mike Sprau told them that he, physically, came by our house and refunded our money. That statement was false. We never received a refund, nor have we been contacted or been able to contact Mike as of 3/4/25. This should tell you everything about his character. Shame on him! read more

I'll start by saying I've never felt a need to wright a review before. I would read the others and you will see how much this guy sucks. I'll start off by saying there is a close resemblance betweeen him and sloth from Goonies. This guy knows very little basic stuff about spas. He doesn't answer his phone and will ignore you once you pay him. Like others said you have to call him on a different phone because he will ignore you. In the 48 years I've been alive I've never met a bigger POTUS. He will also threaten you if you don't pay him immediately after he is done. Even though he shows up when you are not home and didn't tell him to come over. This is a perfect example of a guy who had failed at life, never worked hard for anything and has to scam others to make a living. I'm curious what your reply will be to this. Trust the reviews. They came and took everything apart and said they'd be back the next day. Over a month later, the guy doesn't respond, and told the home warranty company he completed the work. Company is a fraud. The dude spent 20 minutes when he was here telling me how he's so honest and trustworthy, and that's why people go back to him. Good lesson here. When someone has to try to sell you on their honesty, they aren't honest. Fortunately, he didn't get that much money from me. Wanted to make everyone aware. My Experiance.with Mikeof AZ. Spa started out good enough. I had a small leak that he put stop leak trearment in and got it stopped for about 45 days at the same time I ordered some new pillos and.a new cover in total $944.00 the pillows came and he installed them at the time I had all this done he said it would be approximately 6 to 8 weeks for the top to arrive and be installed . That was on September 24th paid for upfront in good faith . I was able to get him on the phone 2 or three times inDec. Now when I call I get no answer and no response to my messages. If I could give him 0 start I would it is people like him who are doing shade business, that make anyone needing repair done very nervous. The top was right around 600 dollars I am disabled and elderly with very limited income and I haft to try and chase this guy and recovery my money I should have checked BBB FIRST HE HAS DONE THIS BEFORE IT IS REALLY NOT OKAY TO PREY ON THE ELDERLY ! read more

Mike charged me close to $1500 for a bunch of repairs that was supposed to stop a leak. Hot tub is still leaking and he hasn't come back to fix nor is he answering my texts and calls. When he did come back once and he said it was another issue with a pump which doesn't even run while the tub was leaking. I wish we would have read these reviews or he would just stand by his work. read more

AZ spa service, I should have read all the reviews before letting this joke named Mike come and throw parts at our spa until he had replaced all the parts. Tub worked for about 4 months, been trying to get him to honor the warranty that is clearly stated on the enormous receipt. Don't bother going to the phoney address on the web site or receipt, its phoney according to the character setting out front. the Mike character also does not have a contractors license or business license for the so called repair service. if you expect any favorable results you are mistaken, whatever he did wrong it will be blamed on you or your equipment. Too bad I can't give zero stars. Mike with AZ SPA REPAIR has treated me the same way the others on here have posted. He will just ignore your texts, phone calls and voice messages. I've spent a fair amount of money with him this past year having all the pumps replaced in my swim spa. The retrofitted plumbing for the last one is leaking and he has no-showed me 3 times and just completely ignores any and all forms of communication. He also neglected to reconnect the ozonator so my chlorine usage has doubled. The most hilarious part is that if you search his business name "AZ Spa Repair" his listing says "We are the most honest spa repair company in Arizona". Ha! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER CALLING THIS SCAMMER. This company needs to be shut down and Mike sent for treatment. He showed up all figity and in hind sight he must have been high on meth. Anyway he said it needs a new pump and I believe that is his go to fix for every spa, check his "web site", your pump may be for sale on his site as he has 7 or 8 used pumps listed there or maybe he just charged us for a new one and installed one of those used ones. Whatever he did he charged $860, included the initial inspection charge which is free if he does repairs. Nope, he charged us. He charged 4 hours labor for a job that took him 45 minutes total. He charged full price for the pump when we had to pay half up front so we should have 1 1/2 pumps. Plus the spa was still leaking,. So he came back 2 days later and left again 15 minutes later without saying a word. We assumed it was fixed. Wrong . Next morning water was down 5 inches and the back was flooded again. And there beside the spa was his drill. He forgot it. He called to say he was coming to get it and was told to call to see if I was home. to let him in first. He did not call. He came and did not knock on the door, instead he came over our 8ft gate into our yard,took his drill & climbed back over the gate . I saw this as i sat working in one of our out buildings Do not use this blood sucking leach. The only people who operate in this manner are addicted to something and need money for more. if he jumped my gate what is to stop him from jumping anyone's fence or gate to gain entrance to private property. Mike came to look at and give me a quote for fixing the problem with my spa. He said it needed a new pack and would require a control panel to match the pack. He destroyed my control panel and cut all the wires on my old pack. After trying to instal the new pack (blowing it up twice) he said it was a bad one from the factory and would bring a new one. Every day he said he would be at my house and never showed. Something (God I believe) told me to look him up on Yelp. I saw all the horror stories and promptly fired him. Thank God he never got a dime from me. I called Aqua Spa that I saw recommended by someone on mikes reviews and he asked if the company was AZ Spa Repair / Service. Aqua Spa has been going behind AZ Spa Service and fixing Mikes mess for a long time. He said it may have been that just my control panel went bad but we will never know because mike destroyed everything. I would not recommend AZ Spa Repair / Service EVER! He gets a big F from me. Mike Sprau and AZ SPA REPAIR performed work on our spa on September 10, 2019. At the time of the repair, Mike sold us a Gray cover and a related Cover up. AZ SPA REPAIR required a payment of 50% at the time of the order, which we paid, including AZ Sales Tax. For the past 8 months we have been unable to get even a response from AZ Spa Repair (or Mike individually). We have attempted phone calls (the phone number is no longer accepting calls), text messages and countless emails - too many to count over the past 9 months. We did contact the manufacturer/distributor of the spa covers and they have confirmed that an order was never placed for this cover. Sadly, our incident does not appear isolated, now that we have been able to read business reviews here on YELP and other handyman sites. There are many reputable SPA and Pool services in the Valley....I would suggest steering clear of this one. read more

The owner of this spa repair service is nothing but a scam artist. I called him,he responded quickly, made appointment which he was right on time. He diagnosed the problem and came a day later with parts supposedly fixed the tub . Not. I hired him on Oct 26 and the never kept another appointment. I have text , telephoned and he refuses to respond. I paid him by check the day of the supposed repair $874.87 and have not seen since. He also stuck me with a product that I did not order. It is now Dec 8 , the tub is out of order and no response from Az Spa Repair. Is that a scam or what! As a side note, he insisted I write my check to him personally not to his operational entity Az Spa Repair, wondering if the IRS is aware. I also have used this guy and he is very aggressive and in too big of a hurry. Twice called about leaks and both times he ended up coming back several times. I think I ended up paying way more than necessary and a lot of unnecessary things done. He also didn't put spa back in proper position or replace panels in proper position When I confronted him on it he made excuses and for very defensive. The worst experience ever. Not trustworthy. Wanted payment, and got paid almost 500 dollars in advance but never delivered service. Said will reimburse but never did. Came up with different excuses why couldn't provide the service and after saying he will reimburse, he never did. Complained instead of providing the service I paid him already for. complaint to me why I was calling or trying to followup with him and harassing him, a month after paying him already for service he was supposed to have provided already!, will never recommend, absolutely not recommendable. read more

I paid AZ Spa Service to install a new board in my spa. The owner said if I hired him he would come back and install another part that I was waiting to be delivered. When I received the other part I scheduled a time for the install. They never showed up and never returned my call. I took the day off work to be home for the appointment. The lack of care on their end to follow up should be a concern to anyone considering hiring this company. The 1 year warranty that they put on the board is useless if they won't call me back. My spa still has issues that I will need to pay another company to address again. Steer clear of this company. read more

I am not normally a review writer, but I felt compelled to write this after the experience we had. First, beware of the initial trip charge as they say it will go toward any time spent repairing your spa at the hourly rate. Our experience was that this was not the case and a job that took a half hour to repair a leaking jet was charged at 2 hours of labor plus parts ($300 in this case). But that was only the first problem...there is a 90 day guarantee on repairs and as soon as I filled my spa up 2 days later after the "repair" it was still leaking. So I called again and they came back out to fix it again. I wasn't home at the time but they left a message saying it was fixed and I could refill the spa again. I refilled it and no such luck as the spa seemed to be leaking faster this time around. I called again and have never received a call back. I called at least 5-6 times and have never heard back. We decided at this point to try another repair company and after their review they seem to think that whoever tried to "fix" the spa the first time around did more damage by putting in faulty jets. They believe the problem could have been originally solved by using a $50 sealant. I would not recommend using this company as it has been nothing but a headache in trying to deal with them as they are not standing behind their service guarantee. read more
