Many did not return calls or sent quotes I felt where too expensive. I did receive a call from one located in Gilbert who was very honest and explained what he felt I needed and what it should cost. He told me he does not travel to my area, since he has enough work in his town. He was honest and helpful. I finally found Trusted Pools thru a neighbor. She just had Trusted Pools service her pool and was happy. I called them and immediately got a return call from Trindal. I explained what I wanted and she recommended a chlorine wash versus acid wash as my pool did not have any stains, just dirt from 4 years of use. They also bead blasted my tiles to remove the scales. I was very impressed with this family owned business. They are honest and fair in their prices. After talking to my neighbor who referred me, I too signed up for their monthly service. It may seem more expensive them the large companies, but, there are no hidden fees. The monthly service includes drain pool every 4 years, all chemicals, vacuum, brush, etc. From the first call to having a clean fresh looking pool was only a week!

Around 11am today, the unions on our backwash assembly broke, rendering the pump and filter inoperable, all while there was quite a bit of remaining dirt from last night in the new pool. The new surface is susceptible to staining and so we couldn't afford to have the pool pump/filter be down for several days. I called many companies and got a hold of Prickly Pools. They advised that their regular distributors were closed for the long weekend, but said they'd call Leslies to see if they could locate the part, and if located could come tomorrow to complete the repair. They ended up locating the part at a Leslies close to our home, so after asking nicely for them to come today, they agreed!! The technician arrived, and advised that we didn't have much pvc left once the broken part was cut off, and that he may have to replumb a lot of additional areas. But, he found a solution using a tool so he didn't have to replumb the additional areas. I appreciated his honesty and creativity in finding a solution that saved me money. I've had a great experience, and it's nice to know that honest, timely and overall great customer service still exists. I was impressed with their offer to call around to Leslies to find the part, agreeing to repair same day at my request, and being honest by coming up with a solution to avoid a more costly replumb. Chris fees were more than reasonable and Chris and his staff make you feel like family. Forthcoming, trustworthy, tells it like it is! That was about 6-7 years ago. We contacted Chris again to resurface the pool deck, repair the deck drain, remove the diving board and caulk around the pool. All this work done in a timely manner, very flexible on schedule ie: weather conditions high heat temperatures, monsoons, but we finally are done with our pool. We are so grateful to Chris, office staff (very friendly), and contract staff of the repair also knowledgeable. They truly understand everything there is to know about a Pool! PRO TIP: The PROBLEM is that Don is really unprofessional. He really really REALLY hates being asked a question about a solution he proposes to a problem. His response usually is, "I've been doing this for 20 years, I don't have time to explain myself, I can get new customers in 20 minutes". PRO TIP: Don't have him drain your pool. He requires that you monitor the pump as it is draining the pool even though you are paying him to take care of everything. If you don't mind monitoring the progress of the pool being drained, ask for a discount since you are doing his job. Also, best not to have the pool drained when you aren't able to monitor. PRO TIP: Don likes to throw the pool debris literally anywhere but a trashcan. Make sure you are very clear with him what your expectations are otherwise he dumps the leaves in your yard right next to the pool or on your driveway or the street in front of your house. PRO TIP: Don likes to repair parts without providing a quote, then he just serves the cost to you in an invoice. Make sure you are clear with him about how and when he can repair or replace parts. PRO TIP: If you are fine working with a decent pool tech who thinks he is Gods gift to pool service and is straight up one of the most curmudgeonly men you will ever encounter, look no further, Don is your guy. There is nothing wrong with his pricing or his maintenance (except his inability to use a trash can). He or is wife will show up, work their magic, and leave within 5 minutes and your pool will be crystal clear. If you blink you will miss them. HOWEVER, anything beyond the basics and Don can get a bit temperamental. I have a 2 year old son, sometimes my son is easier to rationalize with then with Don.

I called HIM close to the end of his window. He said he wasn't going to come because he had just finished a hard job that left him smelling like poop. I said I didn't hire him to be a daisy so he should honor his commitment and come filthy, I didn't care so long as he did a good job. He showed up a mere 10 mins later, looking fresh as a daisy. But didn't come with anything to scoop the old sand out. ?? (He had already seen the equipment). I gave him something and watched him do the work. He told me my pool was super small (what does that have to do with anything?) so I said it is average size play pool: 13000 gals. When I stated the gallons, he acted surprised. But why did it even matter??? I didn't ask for his opinion on the size. ?? Then he told me our house was pretty small. Again ???? I told him is is 3,950 square feet and asked what does that has to do with my filter? He said he and his dad would be building NEW homes soon, because they 'do everything now'. Right...big talk from a short dude. In the end, he finished it and I paid him $350 for a one hour job at most. Which included 300 pounds of sand at a wholesale cost of around $100. Suffice it to say, this company isn't on my future list of people to use again, AND I have told Leslies that they shouldn't recommend them. He is immature, rude and MORE than a little full of his short self.
