Unfortunately, none of those gym memberships or 1:1 training sessions worked for me. The difference between my prior memberships and Lucas is the accountability factor and the added bonus of having a registered dietitian helping from a nutrition standpoint. No one at 24 Hour Fitness is holding you accountable to show up everyday, and no one at Orangetheory is delivering a workout that is tailored to your specific goals. Lucas has been great about adjusting workouts based on my personal objectives, and his dietitian has been equally great with consistent recommendations specifically for me. I had attempted to lose the 25-30lbs id put on for ~2-2.5 years with zero traction. I would start enthusiastically, and when I didn't see ANY results, I'd either give up completely or take my foot off the gas considerably. Then wash. rinse. repeat. I was completely hopeless and frustrated with my self and my life. Enter underground fitness. I left my initial consultation with Dave feeling almost giddy (and. don't use that phrase lightly). Everything he said just clicked - for the 1st time in a long time, it felt not only possible but likely that I would be able lose the weight. And 9+ weeks in that feeling hasn't gone away. Thanks to Dave and my Trainer Tripp (honestly one of the most knowledgeable trainers i've ever met), and despite my newly discovered hypothyroidism, I've lost 3 inches off my waist, I have the confidence to take pictures with my family/niece and even been able to bring a few items of clothing out of retirement! And all this was possible without being forced to eat salads or protein shakes all day. Dave taught me how to be accountable for myself and my food. If I want dessert, and make sure I have it budgeted into my daily calories and I eat that dessert. He genuinely cares about his clients and his only goal is for your to reach your goals, and in the process teach you how to eat for the rest of your life. Despite this, I was instructed to complete another set. During that final set, I injured my back badly enough that I could not walk afterward. At no point was the exercise stopped, reduced, or modified when I reported pain. I still can't squat, my back isn't fully recovered. Afterward, communication was disappointing. When my husband and I later explained that we needed to pause training due to finances, we received no response. Regardless of certification or experience level, a trainer should prioritize client safety, listen when pain is reported, and communicate professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Update: After posting this review, the trainer contacted me and offered me money to take my review down. Since he can't contact me he reached out to my husband regarding my review. I am adding this update for transparency.

This is a great gym for people not wanted to workout in a supplement-pushing, weight-dropping, tire-throwing, screamy-yelly environment. I was pleasantly surprised when Bailee streamlined the process without any pressure. She also offered me free trials of membership benefits like the red light therapy and the brand new cold plunge! Bailee was so friendly and helpful in assisting me in deciding on how to proceed with my membership choices in a non committal way like I wanted. A gentleman named Jake gave us a tour and was very respectful of the limited amount of time I had to spend on the tour. He also explained all about the included classes and ammeneties available at each location! A great part about Mountainside fitness is that they allow 12-year-olds to join so that means my daughter can come with me! I could not find another gym in the area that allows children under 13 to attend so I was really pleased at this privilege. I also liked that all the memberships allow you to go to any location.! I'm really grateful that Bailee was there to help, being that she was so knowledgeable on the membership options and perks! P.s. I love the cold plunge!
