I'll start this review by saying breakfast is my favorite meal. Also I just moved to the Phoenix area from Chicago. I would eat eggs for every meal if my wife wouldn't frown upon it. The service was fast but the waitress was not attentive. There was no wait but it felt like the restaurant was packed because she wasn't by to check anything until we almost finished. I ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon. The sausage is really good but the bacon has an aftertaste I'm not accustomed to. It was a good mix of vegetables, onions and green peppers. It was good, but I've had much better. My wife and son both had french toast. It was really greasy. I'm sure from the butter they used, but it shouldn't leave a bunch of grease on the plate. They use a large amount of vanilla in the batter which added to the flavor, my wife wasn't a fan, but it did taste good. This place has food on par with a typical diner or cafe. SBL(Sexy Bearded Lover) had the day off so we thought we'd take advantage of it, and try a place we have never been before; Hello Nicks Diner II. I remember eating at the place it was before it changed in to Nicks dose, it wasn't that impressive. However Nicks episode 2 was seriously legit. We walk in and it was super chill and it smelled great. We were seated and went thru the menu. Tons of choices, wraps, fish and chips to yummy breakfast items. It was a true diner, like I mean this place is what you hope for when you go into a Denny's or a Village Inn, but end up wanting more because it was just meh. SBL ordered the bacon cheese burger and fries. It came out on this giant roll and to his surprise the patty was bigger than the roll. SBL took a couple bites and said this is his favorite burger he has ever had. It was cooked perfectly, the bun itself was fantastic. The bacon was not wrinkled or funky, and the lettuce and tomato was so crisp you could hear the crunch a mile a way. Mini me ordered the French toast and sausage and dang that was tasty! The sausage was plump and so good and the French toast was made with love like momma use to make. I ordered the club sandwich which was pretty giant and again full of nothing but goodness. It was layered with thick ham and all the most perfect things from the kitchen that reminded me of my childhood. My mom was a good cook, I have fond memories of her feeding my friends and I lunch on snow days and meals made from the heart. Is Nicks Diner 2 as good as my mommas cooking? No it's not, but in a parallel universe it's the closest thing i have found yet that matches a meal from the Linda. (The Linda was my momma FYI) This place was a true find and a gem. This is an amazing Diner! You can find Nick working the line and ensuring the food comes out perfect! For our first visit, we went for breakfast but HAD TO ORDER the onion rings...they are absolutely fantastic! Hand dipped and fried crispy. MUST come back for the fish and chips. BTW my breakfast of gyro meat, home fries and eggs was delicious too. Nothing but delicious food passed by as we sat at the counter. Tammy was super friendly and a delightful. My husbands been here a few times, my first time was excellent!! Big servings and very fresh! Very large dining area once inside and very clean. Friendly staff, like a neighborhood staple. Great breakfast specials M-F before 11 a.m., the quantities are huge, the food quality very good and service is excellent! I especially like that you can substitute French toast for regular toast with breakfast (but not on the morning specials) ... that sometimes entices me to order from the regular menu, where the portions are even bigger! read more

Well let me say our experience started out bad. The hostess was rude when my son walked up and asked for a table of 4. When we sat down the table was still wet which isn't ideal but we dried it with our napkins. The waitress seemed to be upset but she took care of our order. My son order the philly cheese steak and my boyfriend, my niece and I all had a burger. Beside the service not being good the next problem was that we found 4 pieces of hair in my nieces food. It was curly hair that looked like a beard hair. After that we couldn't eat our food I had taken about 3 bites and after seeing all that hair we just couldn't eat it.the manager did say we didn't have to pay for our food. If you want a deal on breakfast: eggs, bacon, toast, etc. go Monday- Friday 7-11. $5 for breakfast is not a bad deal. Wish I would of known before I dropped $20 for a Nick's Omelet, a glass of OJ, and some pancakes and bacon. I did proudly demolish both dishes and can say I am a fan of the Nick's omelet. I would go back for the omelet. The potatoes were good and a nice filler with the plate. I can say I was a fan of the pancakes, on the large side and will fill you up. The bacon, I was hoping would be crispy, but more on the soggy side during my sampling. If you are looking for a fresh, home style plate of breakfast this is my local joint. Yes I could cook up most of the stuff, but it is nice to enjoy a melted cheese omelet with a nice mix of ingredients cooked by someone else sometimes :) Staff was friendly and I enjoyed my breakfast there. This is a decent place to eat. We use to eat at the original's Nick's until we started to have a few issues. Later we found out that Nick's and Nick's ll are not related? Nick's ll are the original owners of Nick's, but then sold the original Nick's. Then they opened up Nick's ll, there does that explain everything? I now confused! Anyway, I have had breakfast here a couple of times. It's pretty much the same as the original Nick's. But this place seems to be more customer service priority. You are treated a lot better here, and don't forget about you. Food is really good, I personally love their pancakes. Their bagel breakfast sandwich is very good also. Discovered this diner the end of last year when I had an incredible breakfast of the Denver omelette with an abundance and home cooked potatoes. Next month I brought my wife who was quite pleased with her eggs Benedict while I had a huge side of corned beef hash. The corned beef was fresh made, delicious and there was plenty. Today we ordered the same but the corned beef was sparse with mostly potatoes onions and peppers. They need consistency since I returned craving the delicious corned beef hash I had enjoyed before. It was 8:30Am. Food was great. It was not that busy on a Friday morning. I have a nicks diner membership card to get points every time I go. I go to nicks diner almost every week to have breakfast with my mom. This time it was me and my longtime best friend. After we had eaten our meal, a guy dressed up in all black looking like a chef stood about 10 feet away staring at my psychiatric service dog. I was very weary of the looks he continued to give me. He then approached and stated "Your dog is not welcome, it is not a service dog." He continued to banter with me and my police officer friend about the ADA rules and federal laws. It ended up causing a huge scene. We had already paid so we walked out. I am very disappointed with the way this establishment handled themselves, discriminating against my service dog, which is against federal law. I won't spend another dollar at this place. We used to eat at Nick's all the time. Tonight, I ordered Carbanera, which previously was always excellent and plenty for 2 people. Tonight, it was half the size and was made with spaghetti noodles. There was no flavor, and it tasted like they poured Alfredo sauce over spaghetti and threw on some ham and bacon. Not at all what we received in the past. I checked Yelp reviews for Nick's Diner II & wanted to try it since the reviews were 4-5 stars. Boy, these people are very wrong. The waiter was all over the place. This was what I ordered. Greek Chicken Wrap 9.29 Grilled chicken, lettuce, feta, cheese, tomatoes, onions, and Greek dressing. I told the waiter that the "greek" dressing tasted like french dressing. Please may I have Tzatziki Sauce; There will be an additional charge. Are you kidding? He should have offered that immediately. Well, maybe someone else received my Tzatziki sauce cause I never did. Lemon chicken rice soup is a great pick me up when you are in the mood for a soup. I ordered on the phone and picked it up in no time. Lemon in the soup really comes out in the soup. A bowl of soup is about 4 dollars, not to much for a good soup ! read more

From Oregon, we trusted Yelp users recommendations & tried Nick's Diner for breakfast. It has classic diner options with several Greek inspired & classic Greek items. We ordered the Saganaki (flaming cheese) as an appetizer & a Meat Lover's skillet plus avocado & the Greek skillet. The Saganaki came with pita bread. It's rich, Salty & bright with the lemon juice squeezed on top. Delicious! Both skillets were tasty & filling. You could easily share a skillet with another person if your not a big eater. I'm being generous with my one star, and I'm sure the owner may not even care but.....Never frequent this restaurant near closing!! My husband and I stopped in at 2:30 for an early dinner before a movie on a Saturday. We did not know this restaurant only stays open until 3, but we were assured we could order and eat till we were done. I guess having all the cleaning being done around you and being rushed the whole time is acceptable. The smell of cleaner is definitely not appetizing The staff are very unprofessional, I did leave a tip only because I've been in this industry for 35+ years, but she didn't smile once or offer any service outside of what she had to to get us the heck out of the restaurant. I have been going to nicks diner since I moved to Surprise in 2018 the quality of the food has gone down immensely in the past year. I stopped in for breakfast today and ordered scrambled eggs. They tasted and looked like they had been scrambled for hours. I don't think I'll be going back to Nicks in the future. read more

Stopped here with family while passing thru with family. Food wasn't bad, had a home recipe feel to it. Masks were required and other covid "precautions" being practiced, However shortly after leaving continuing on our journey i realized my sweater had bleach stains near where I would have been leaning against the table to eat. This sweater was brand new given as a gift, and we had not stopped any where else. I called because I was sure that was where the BLEACH stains came, l called and the manager Sherry confirmed that they use bleach on their rags which are used to wipe the table.  I told her about mysweater and she was bent that that wasn't the case. Despite the workers using bleach rags. She stated it should have dried by the time I sat down but it didn't seem like any "wipe and wait x amount of minutes" procedures were being done.  I continued to explain my point of how new this sweater was and  how this was our only stop. She then showed a sense of rudeness by cutting me off and just saying "since its stuck in your head come down here and I'll pay for your ruined sweater" which logically was the right way to make the issue resolved but her delivery and her attitude were far from what I expected from a manager.  Unfortunately I told her I would not return thru until Sunday and I am not  going to make it in time because they close at 3pm as I am 2 hrs away but an hour away from 3pm and Phoenix is about 8 hrs where I live so unfortunately I have to consider this a loss and overall a terrible experience here. I'll never stop here or ever recommend it. Hope this Sherry lady learns better etiquette in her position as a manager. - Our server though was a very nice lady though. read more

Went there on 6 Nov 2018 at 1pm. My Wife ordered the oatmeal and I ordered the eggs benedict. THE GOOD - Waitress was very nice, and the place appeared to be clean with a friendly atmosphere. THE BAD - The oatmeal came out, and it was like stucco in a bowl. My wife sent it back. My eggs benedict was horrendous... bits of egg shells, soggy muffins (like a sponge), ham that had a sour taste to it, and potatoes that tasted like they were fried in old oil. THE UGLY - As a result of eating their food, 20 minutes later, I was throwing up, and experiencing diarrhea in the evening. We will NOT be returning! read more
