This is a small little coffee shop/cafe/bar. Limited hours but such a great place. It's in the Tesoro Viejo housing complex and at the head of an awesome trail system. After a run on the trials we enjoyed some coffee and breakfast. Staff were friendly, food was tasty, and coffee was done right. On Sat/Sun they also have bottomless mimosas. They have a few local beers on tap and canned ciders. Would be a great causal easy place to meet with friends to relax. Also have nice outdoor seating. The breakfast burrito and avocado toast were both great. The avocado toast was nice fresh thick piece of sourdough. Coffee had great flavor and was brewed well. It turns out you have to purchase an entree (~$12 per entree) for each mimosa (which I was unaware of before driving 45 mins to get here). I was mentally complaining. Wanted to visit some model homes in the Tesoro Viejo community. We went to their Hub visiting center to get more information on builders and wanted a small bite from Axis. My little girl was also hungry so I ordered a small pepperoni cheese pizza for her. The Axis is inside the visiting center which is very nice. There are many tables for people getting coffee and eating there. You can see people on their laptop so I think there is free Wi-Fi but I would ask just in case. Clean place with a rustic vibe. There are also two all gender single restroom for visitors and customer to use. They sell some baked goods like cookies, cream cheese mini in cups, pizzas, and of course they have coffee. Our mini pizza was $8 and I though that was a little pricey for it being that small but it was freshly made and was good. My toddler really enjoyed it. We went for a hike and this coffee shop was at the end of the trail. A truly beautiful area, there are lots old vines around and lots of open dirt fields. I wish there was more parking, but it's a really great area. Lots of locals there, and it has Pete's coffee, so quite tasty. They also had beer and wine for sale, which was a plus. Stopped for food after camping and we found this great place. We were pleasantly surprised, we sat outdoor and the atmosphere was great. There was even a live music playing. This has to be one of the strangest things in Fresno. What a fun place to meet up with friends, meet clients or just get away for a few hours and work in a nice peaceful environment. The aesthetics of this place makes you want to sit all day whether inside or enjoying the outside. The food is YUM. For lunch I ordered the turkey avocado sourdough sandwich and OMGosh ... outstanding. The turkey is herb roasted right on the premises. The side salad was delicious. I had the tropical ice tea and it was very refreshing. Earlier in my visit I had ordered the sweet cold brew with cream and unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. Was greeted by a very nice employee named Taylor put in our order quickly and waited. While waiting my mom got cold so we decided to get the free coffee offered with check in. This was on a slow day, with 2/3 of the tables unoccupied. Prices are reasonable. Coffee was good. This was my second visit. Probably won't be back, unless I just want to pop by for a coffee to go. This place is a real hit and miss but for the most part I am going to move on find another place. The food is okay but not much of a selection. The burger is good but expensive! The coffee is just okay. But my biggest peeve are the hours and inconsistent internet. Over the summer the hours seemed to jump around and were not consistent or miss-reported and they did not fix it when I told them. And then there is the internet that does not always work. I told the staff and they just blew me off or told me they could not do anything about it. To make it worse it is in dead area for cell phones and I can't connect that way either. If you're heading north on Hwy 41 you will pass an interesting development called Tesoro Viejo on the east side. Within this little Community with its own fire department , and only a couple hundred yards off the road, is the Axis coffee shop. What is the most inviting thing is the charming outdoor seating complete with luxury couches heaters and fountains, but you can also sit inside and have one of the specials of the day or pastries and snacks. The quality of their coffee and drinks are on a Starbucks level but with not quite the variety, however they make up for that with a bit more of a homemade touch, as they make their own pumpkin lattes from scratch w puree as well as a few other specialty drinks. They even carry their own microbrew beer and a future onsite brewery. They have strung out lights and entertainment on the weekends servie a limited dinner menu.eg Ribs for 10.95!! Which are very good I might add. It has a suburban feel as it is set in the riverlands. A great fun stop if you're headed to the foothills or down towards Avenue 12. read more
