First time trying this place and I loved it. Driving took me about 26 minutes. The área was interesting since it started to feel secluded from the city. Immediately you can feel the smoothness of the road, stillness and beautiful green farming land. The coffee shop didn't have much people, assuming the area is under construction for new homes. But the decor and the feel of a coffee shop is there. Had a chance to enjoy live music, and the guy singing was great. I was trying to figure out, if I was in front of a know famous singer...that's how good he was. This was actually what I enjoyed the most. (COFFEE) sadly didn't get to try it, but had a glass of Red Wine and it was perfectly tasty. Sorry forgot the name of the wine. Lastly I'm sure once the new homes get constructed the neighborhood is going to love this place. My family came here after a long hike, the food smelled so good so we decided to give it a try. Walk up to the window to order, they give us a number and say the food will be out shortly. It took 1 hour for the food to arrive. The place was not overly busy, but a good amount of guests sitting on the patio. It looked like everyone was waiting a out an hour for their food. We saw a few people go and ask for updates on their food, and a few more get upset and ask for refunds. At no time did staff or manager come out to speak with guests about the long wait. It seems like they should give guests a heads up when the ordering to properly set expectations, had we had known it would take an hour we would have gone elsewhere. We had our first visit to Axis last night. The atmosphere is contemporary and comfortable with an old world wine country feeling. We didn't eat but we did have drinks. My biggest issue was that ordering seemed chaotic: go to this counter, now to that counter now go back to pick up your beverage at yet another counter... and the young girl pouring wine was uninformed, had no idea how to open a bottle of wine or seemingly what temperature a cabernet should be. Kept in the cooler it was served as chilled as a white and served in a glass as hot as heck. We would definetly return one day, and hopefully see a upgrade in service. On our way to Yosemite from LA, our kids started asking for breakfast, and restroom break. Thank goodness they're open. Cute little town. Axis food/Coffee shop is spacious. It's is very clean, and the staff was friendly. We ordered 2 grotto and the burrito. 101% satisfied. All freshly made to order. Burrito size was bigger than expected, juicy and very tasty. I really enjoyed the decor and atmosphere the cafe is creating upon a first impression, but service can be greatly improved on if I decide to try the place again. My party arrived with 6 people waiting in line already just before 11 am, and the line didn't move for about 15 minutes. Everyone was getting impatient as it seemed like the only two people visible in the front were working the cashier and making beverages at the same time. A few customers waiting in line after me had left the cafe seeing the slow progress of being served. My party of five all ordered food and bottomless mimosas. Definitely recommend the bottomless mimosas as you get more champagne than juice, so it's worth it. I tried the toasted marshmallow cappuccino, which I liked, but for a $5 medium drink, I was disappointed in what seemed like a 6oz mug of liquid for what I paid. Service to get our food was pretty slow as I began to glance over at the kitchen window, wondering if our orders were forgotten. My plate of French toast was served last when everyone else was more than halfway done with their meal. Sounded like everyone liked their food. Maybe meant more for a heavy midday snack as the servings were small and not as filling as expected for brunch since others were debating to order another item. I recently discovered this cafe in my search for new study cafes in the area, and I really liked it! The cafe is quaint, quiet, and nicely decorated. It has a nice mix of window barstool seating, individual tables, and booths. I got their chai tea latte, which unfortunately, was not the best- tasted a bit syrupy, but their chocolate chip/sea salt cookie was fantastic- very rich and soft. The barista was very friendly and was patient when I was taking my time ordering. He told me about their brunch options and how they have live music on friday nights- seems like a great place to socialize! The cafe itself is a bit secluded as it is located within a newly constructed 'village' that is continuing to build houses. So there isn't anywhere else to visit/look around if you wanted to do something after visiting the cafe. Nevertheless, great place to study with a drink and dessert! read more

Seeing all these great reviews I had to try this place, very disappointed in my whole order and customer service. Don't let these other reviews manipulate how rude the entire atmosphere is, a bunch of snobs. After being ignored for minutes (mind you I did a mobile order) I was told my order was never made because I didn't specify if I wanted it iced or hot. I never had the option on the mobile order to choose so I assumed they're all hot. I also ordered a bagel, wasn't toasted, cold, and bonus prize blonde hair on top of it. (Side note: none of us have blonde hair in the car) I don't have the patients or time to ask for refunds so I'll do what's convenient and leave an honest review. I love supporting local but in this case go to Starbucks and save the headache. read more

My husband and I came in on Saturday and my first impression was not very good, the inside is very nice and inviting but being it was our first time there we were not greeted, the customer service was very poor I found that the menu was very small, we actually had to ask where the menu was and without saying anything the barista just pointed and The menu didn't display pricing and it was very expensive and $27 for two sandwiches. I gave Axis 3 star because the atmosphere is perfect, quiet, great place to do paperwork or relax. The decor was gorgeous and so very clean. I went there to do a little work and ordered a sandwich, while the sandwich was huge (wish she would have told me), that I was able to only eat 1/3 of it. It was sourdough roll which completely crumpled and had no taste, as sourdough should be more "solid," the fillings were good the sandwich had absolutely no taste. It needed mayonnaise, balsamic or something, it was very bland. I was not impressed, mostly with the bread and considering the total was almost $15 with tax and tip. The cashier needs to be a little more friendly as she just stood there and offered no advice on food choices or drink. She really didn't talk much at all to me, other than thank you.
