Horrible experience dealing with these folks. They're pretty much a one man operation. The worker is the driver, desk server. Really tedious ordeal from the time they pick you up at the airport to when they check you in. We invested about an hour throughout the entire process. Our first night into the trip the drivers side bulb didn't work. We called them and they wanted us to drive the car 1 hour back to the rental to fix it. This should have been part of their initial safety check Upon return we were accused of a small dent on the passenger side fender that was already there. Thank God I made a video to show it was there already. And last on out way to the airport they had a cleaner bottle and dirty rag on the seat which I had to move aside myself. No apologies or anything read more

AVR Long Beach - This was on the passenger seat. I had to move it out of the way myself. NASTY!!!! - Car Rental Near Me - Long Beach, California

I can't say enough how Shanna made our lives easier during this entire process. She is an amazing worker and person! She made it so easy for our family to get a van even though we had problems from the beginning. This was our first time renting with this company and it definitely won't be our last because of her outstanding customer service! Thank you Shanna for being the best at what you do! From start to finish 10+ customer service satisfaction from us. I'll probably stop by to give this girl some donuts or something cause she deserves it. She is all about customer satisfaction and making sure you are happy from start to finish. This is truly Called "going above and beyond" customers needs. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! read more

If I could give ten stars I would. Shanna At AVR was extremely helpful and provided excellent service for my dad for a weekend trip. We walked in there was no wait, she was enthusiastic and smiled. I have never seen such a great encounter at a car rental place. We rented the 12 passenger ford transit. It was immaculate, so clean and spacious and it drove so smooth. My dad will not go anywhere else for his car rental needs now. Thank you Shanna for the wonderful hospitality and making our first rental experience from AVR one to remember! read more

Rented a van here for Coachella and was really happy with my entire experience! They are located in inside the Holiday Inn by the Long Beach Airport in case you can't find them. Like everyone else said, Shanna is the best! She made sure I knew everything I needed to know and really took care of us before and after the rental. Great customer service and personality. I would definitely come back again because of her. read more

Do Not Book anything here.. you book for unlimited mileage but when you get there they say its only 250 miles per day and refer you to "terms and conditions". Imagine you plan your whole trip and want to pock up you car and they pull out some BS like this. I canceled my order right at their pick up office in Long beach. Called their customer service and they didn't even care. Never ever rent anything from these sketchy businesses. .... In response to the manager's comment: What you are saying means this company is not ready enough to take responsibility of its customers inquiries and make the customers pay for its mistakes. Let me just rephrase what you said here: Dear customer we know our website is pretty messed up and we need to work on it but instead of fixing it, we're gonna mess up your whole trip and/or charge you extra hundreds of dollars for our mistake. Per your customer service, this issue was reported to the company very often. God knows how many customers had to pay extra dollars because they didn't have any other choice. If I were you, and I would care about my customers, I would shut down the whole website, wouldn't take any order, till I resolve this problem. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I called about 2 months ahead to rent 3, 15 passenger vans. The day before I was supposed to pick up the vans Justin called me to make sure we were all good to go. After a long talk he told me that I could not rent all 3 vans unless I had a different form of payment for all 3 and that each driver for each one of the vans had to pay for theirs. Took about 5 calls to get this figured out tell I said I wanted to talk to his supervisor, well turns out Justine was the supervisor. On the fifth call he cursed at me and started yelling, never once did I raise my voice or cursed at him, I told him that the calls were being recorded and that I was going to report him, he said that this call was not and that he was going to make sure I didn't get any vans. Called customer service, reported him and they gave me David Bachelor's number, who was supposed to be his manager, called him left voicemails for a couple days, never returned my calls. Figures with someone up in rank above who doesn't return your calls what do you expect from the rest of the workers. Dont waste your time. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! read more

Do NOT rent here. They advertise unlimited miles for your rental but do not honor it. You have to read the fine print.....

Hands down, Shanna was exceptional. She seriously went above and beyond to help me out with a long distance move. She looked for the best avenue for me to take in terms of cost and convenience and was knowledgeable and friendly. I definitely recommend Shanna and this location. Like the previous review stated, you feel like family by the time you finish paperwork. We parted with a hug after I FaceTimed with her sister! read more

Rented van here for a very good rate. Van was dirty at pickup. I had to wash and vacuum it myself. Come to find out they charge for mileage over 250.00. Never signed any paperwork with them saying that. Also the receipt they give you to sign does not say anything about mileage cost. They pull out some folder with highlighted terms after I return the rental and try to tell me this after the fact. Manager was very rude and failed to explain why full disclosure was not on my rental agreement. Don't rent here unless you get full disclosure receipt. Just a piss poor business run out of a lobby at holiday inn. read more

The Long beach branch ROBBED me! AVR management is ok with being crooks. Shanna is nice and bubbly but that is only to mask her incompetence. I was told in an email by (DAVID)... "you did leave with the rental so..." crooked cons I tell you smh. NEVER TRUST these types of businesses!!! read more

BAIT AND SWITCH!! Rented a minivan online 2 months in advance. One hour before the scheduled pick up I received a call from an agent to confirm my reservation. He went over the fees and informed me that even though I may have reserved this vehicle with unlimited miles, they are a small company and I was going to get 250 miles and charged for additional miles after that. I canceled this reservation and had to look for another rental all ONE hour before scheduled pick up! read more

The customer service is amazing. Shanna and Fernando were a tremendous help, felt like we were family by the end of the visit. Two of the best employees encountered at any car rental company. Definitely recommended due to price and hospitality! read more

Doesn't even deserve one star. Called to make a reservation for a 15-seater van to be used the next day. When I came to pick it up I was told that it's no longer available (they only had one available and somehow a person from corporate branch booked two reservations and when we got there somebody already picked it up) and the only solution they can offer is to "cancel the reservation" leaving us in a pickle because we have families waiting at home ready to leave anytime. The guy at the desk didn't even offer to help, he only said there's nothing he can do and we should call the main office ourselves. It's only after my husband threw a fit that's when he helped us find another van - only this time we have to pick it up at their branch near LAX. Our time was wasted, we have to travel extra to pick it up and it cost more than the original reservation price. The customer service was awful! Poor communication among corporate office and their branches. When we finally got to their branch near LAX where we were told that a 15-seater van would be waiting for us, we had to wait for about an hour an a half more because they only had a 12-seater ready and the guy at the desk said he had to attach the seats himself so we can use a 15-seater van they had available. Our trip which should've been a little past 9am has been delayed. It's almost 1pm when we were finally able to take the van home where our group were waiting since 9am. The trip we were supposed to take is a 2-hour drive, so when we got there we only had about an hour to fully enjoy the venue before it got dark and we had to leave. AVR totally ruined our planned vacation because of their lack of coordination and unsatisfactory service. read more

Shanna was amazing, I will definitely come back because I know she will take care of me there.

i just rented a 12 person Van from AVR in Long Beach. The experience could not have been better. Shanna Marquez was so helpful and was one of the nicest people I have met, she went out of her way in a sincere way that made you feel like she really cared. I was in town for the National Volleyball tournament and wanted to be able to take the girls before or after the matches to experience Southern California. The van was perfect and was much better than trying to orchestrate a buch of ubers. The van was so big one of the coaches at 6'9' curled up in the luggage area and took a nap. The pricing was better than i could have rented a mid size car for. I am not one to take the time to review something unless i really feel strongly about it and this is one of those case. read more

Shanna was very courteous and helpful. Very comforting to know that not all rental agents rude, she was the opposite. Would personally recommend ppl to go to her if you want someone who can take care of your rental needs. Thanks Shanna! read more

Shanna at AVR was super friendly and accommodating. Transaction was smooth and got me on my way. Thanks!

Thank you Shanna for a pleasant rental experience. Your customer service is exceptional and I will recommend others to call you .

We had a large group of travelers and needed a vehicle to haul all of us. The van was not only larger than we needed, but had a huge area in the back for luggage. The best part was the customer service. Shanna picked us up from LBG, and took care of all of our needs. She was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated her professionalism, and will definitely be back to AVR. read more

We had a great experience renting from the LGB branch. Both the service and van we got were top notch. Our rep Shauna is super friendly and easy to work with. She was proficient at her job and made the whole process enjoyable. She took extra steps to make sure the van we got was clean inside and out. Also a shout out to William who took care of us during the return process, super cool guy. Long term rentals can become costly, but with the great services we got, it made the expenditure less painful, lol. If you need a large passenger van, this is the place to be. This was our first rental with AVR, and will not be our last. Highly recommended. read more

I rented a van last week, the the lady that was their name Shanna was very very pleasant to deal with and very very helpful to me after the call center messed up my reservation. She straightened out the goof-up that the incompetent person at the call center had made arrangements for. If it was not for her helping me on my arrangements I would have been very dissatisfied but after the experience with dealing with Shanna it made it a very very pleasant experience. I can say I will be reting more Vans at her location from now on. Everyone needs to take a lesson from her on customer relations and customer service. Thank you Shanna for your help , Ron, and for all the people that are running late and expect her to get you to the airport 5 minutes before your plane takes off should not be taking it out on her because you did not give yourself enough time get things in order , she is doing her job very efficiently and very quickly. Thanks again Shanna, Ron read more
