I recently held a private party in the back patio to celebrate graduation with friends and family and I could not have had a better experience. Rory, Josh, and the whole team at Avoca made sure from the first inquiry to the event itself we had all of our questions answered and had everything we needed. They did an incredible job setting up for the party, handling the food and drink orders for 50 people and making sure the event ran smoothly. The servers were so friendly and attentive. I hosted my marathon party at Avoca's back patio this year, and it was overall an excellent experience. QR codes made ordering easy for everyone, service was fast and friendly, food/drinks were delicious, and the space was perfect. Heat lamps kept everyone comfortable on a chilly November night, and the greenery made for a relaxing environment. Correction: There are two TVs but during yesterday's brunch, they kept the soccer/football sound at reasonable levels---thank God. Once again the restaurant was crowded with attractive,young ladies. I think I was the only male in the place. Not that I'm complaining. :) BTW - Now that I'd tried everything on their brunch menu I wish they'd add more choices. Giovanni was our server at Avoca on a Wednesday evening. I arrived before my guest and I was seated before they arrived. We had the tuna tar tar, eggplant parmesan, the beet and goat cheese salad which were all very delicious and gracefully plated and great to share. Our server was very pleasant and accommodating. I had the scallops and my guest had the veggie burger which we both devoured. the food came out quickly and our server made sure we had enough very things we needed and checked on us periodically. We were 30 guest and everything went perfectly and smoothly. The drinks were so good for boozy brunch! And the food came out slowly but surely! we knew that would happen since we were a very large party so in the meantime we had more drinks and even more fun!. The food was delish! The burger was awesome! The avocado toast as well! Then the staff brought out some bday purple shots which were incredible! And a flare with a cake / dessert that we picked. Avoca is an amazing spot for many reasons. Firstly, Rory the manager is so kind and accommodating. This past marathon Sunday he reserved a section of the bar for our family and friends to gather to celebrate my fiancé's marathon completion! We had the best time and felt completely at home. Secondly, the food and drinks were awesome. You have so many options and everything was delicious. Since my father is in a wheelchair, I am super aware of accessibility. This place is extremely easy to navigate and even has a handicapped bathroom. To sum it up, Avoca has it all and we will definitely be coming back again soon!!! read more

I had a large group visit for cinco de mayo so unsurprisingly it was pretty crowded! Pros are the drinks. The regular drink deals are great and the drinks were made very well. It is a pretty new establishment and there are a few kinks to be worked out given the high popularity. The food is pretty basic for a bar and they ran out of several items. I would like to visit again during a less busy time because I do hear it's a great local spot for dinner! The staff is super friendly and do a great job managing the crowd. Avoca is a wonderful addition to the UES and I have been numerous times since they opened last fall. Their food, drinks and service are always spot on. I recently hosted a party on the back patio with an open bar and it could not have been a more enjoyable experience. Such a great spot on the Upper East Side for so many occasions! Love this new spot! They have a fabulous happy hour until 7 that goes a bit later than most happy hours in the area during the week. I almost didn't want to post this review because they have the cutest outdoor back patio that I want to keep to myself! My friend and I sat outside by ourselves on a chilly Friday night for happy hour, and the vibes were perfect. They have cute string lights and a picture-perfect flower backdrop. Unfortunately, they don't have heaters outside, but we toughed it out. A group of friends and I also checked out their bottomless brunch this past weekend and it was so fun. Their brunch burger was to die for. So so good. They were busy, but the hostess checked all proof of vaccinations for indoor seating which was much appreciated. They have a lot of options to choose for your drink of choice, and they let you mix it up if you decide that you want to try a different drink. They have the best playlist, too! Bathrooms are single rooms, which I love, and very clean. Cannot wait to sit on that patio in the spring/summer (and bring our pup)! They are usually very busy, but this doesn't affect the service. All the waitresses we've had were very attentive. I highly suggest making a reservation. We had one for brunch and we had a nice high-top table in the back that was away from the crowd in the middle. We had my daughter's first birthday party in the back patio and it was everything we could have wanted and more!! Rory and his team were amazing with us and we were really able to bring our Winnie the Pooh birthday come to life. The patio is so quaint and spacious where we had 40 adults and little kids running around, with room for more if needed! The food and service were impeccable. The Caesar salads, zucchini chips, pigs in a blanket, disco fries were amazing but the real star of the food show was the smash burgers! Honestly could have ordered 4 more trays of those. Had a nice experience here on a Monday evening with a friend. At 7pm the place was pretty crowded, I'd suggest reservations if looking for a table, any day of the week! Friendly bartenders. Happy hour until 7pm and they have nightly specials (1/2 priced bottles monday, $10 burger weds). The manager made a point to come over and introduce himself to us, which was a nice touch. Had the mussels to start and the lamb sliders, everything tasty and at a reasonable price point. Friend had the Coq Au Vin and loved it. Only knock was a decent amount of the mussels did not open, which I pointed out to the bartender. I look forward to checking out the back patio during the warmer months!! This place is amazing. We came here for Monday brunch and had the best time. I got the breakfast burger and my wife got the french toast and both were incredible. The drinks have homemade infused liquor, all of which are exceptional. The service couldn't have been any better - we had bottomless brunch and they didn't let our glasses run out. The restaurant itself is beautiful, it's recently redone. There's a great outdoor area in the back that gets the perfect amount of afternoon sun. Please, by any means, do NOT dine here. Especially on a weekend. My group of 4 had a reservation and ate here at 7:30pm on a Friday. It was honestly the worst dining experience any of us ever had. The server was nice enough, but they were so busy that our food didn't arrive for over an hour. The drink orders were few and far between. The WORST of it all, was that the music was BLASTING so loudly that all 4 of us have pain in BOTH of our ears. We asked multiple times to turn it down, which the server tried to do. ONLY for the OWNER to go back and turn it higher up. Multiple people throughout the restaurant complained, to no avail. Ownership seemingly doesn't care about the diners' experience and only cares about giving this mediocre place a reputation of having a club-like atmosphere. I'll never dine here again and hope with every ounce of my being that not another person who reads this review will step foot in this horrible establishment. read more
