YUMMM! Passed this place so many times and finally made it, lowkey, love the vibes & everything we had was great from drinks to dessert. Caesar salad was top tier with little toasted crumbles, seasonal bruschetta that was soft and topped w tomatoes basil and more. Everything we had tasted so fresh! We each had the Pepe' pasta with crabmeat and ate it all! We still made room for an expresso flavor brownie desert, paired with expresso martinis. We came here for a little celebration date night but would def come back and had great service too!

This was a birthday celebration and I must say I was very impressed. Service is nice and attentive. Food was very fresh and tasty. All my taste buds were happy from the glass of red I had to the tiramisu for dessert. The pistachio ice cream was yummy too. The crispy calamari was super fresh and exquisite, just forgot to photograph. Please make a reservation. It might be best to Uber because parking is a bit difficult. There is not a parking lot; only street parking. The ambiance is perfect for a girls lunch and/or with that someone special. The place can be rather loud if they are busy.

The service me and my wife got was great. It was a last minute walk in and the wait staff were just delightful. We order the eggplant parm and veal shank. 10 out of 10.

I debated between 4 and 5 stars for this one, but in the end landed on 5 because of the helpful, professional service. Service and ambiance were 5/5. Our waiter was very helpful and the staff did a great job accommodating allergies (although they use peanut oil for frying so beware if you have nut allergies). Calm and comfortable environment. We really enjoyed it. Food was 4/5. Meatballs, eggplant, and gnocchi were delicious. The fried calamari was delicious. Lobster pasta special was okay--very fishy. I was surprised that for a place that specializes in pasta, the noodles were a bit rubbery. Fish entree was fine as well. The gnocchi side dish was one of my favorite parts of the meal--get it! Worth a visit!

Avo is romantic and nice without being too fancy! The restaurant is a little small, so I would probably make a reservation if you can. We loved the $10 spritzes and Baked Ziti special!

Visited Avo recently for the first time and I had no clue I was gonna fall in love! It was super cute in the inside, very nice for a date night, even a lunch date! I started off with the gin cocktail with cucumber (I forgot the name) and the charred octopus! Both were surprisingly tasty! For my entree I had the lasagna which was a GAME CHANGER! I still think of it till this day. I gave the honeysuckle spritz a try but it's just not my cup of tea, so I doubled back to my gin martini. Service was great, food was great, drinks were great, everything was great! 10/10

The homemade pasta was delicious. Our server was great and very helpful. Perfect date night or girls night out atmosphere! Will definitely be back and order that squid ink pasta again. The tuna crudo app was also super delicious.

Great place, good selection of wines, great service, presentation of the food is amazing. Soo many flavours in the food. Should have more selections on pasta as the menu is small and sweet .

We decided to ride down Magazine St and try a restaurant we never had. Drove further Uptown and rolled up to a nice lil spot on Magazine St & Eleonore St. Appetizers: Caesar Salad & Meatballs - Good Mains: Bucatini Cacio E Pepe & Gulf Fish - Both were delicious. We will be back.

I came here for a date night and it's the perfect date night spot. The decor is really nice. Definitely a romantic vibe. We were seated promptly and our server came to introduce himself right away. We started with a bottle of wine. And calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was really good. It was fried just right and it there was a tomato sauce underneath it that was really good. It add some acid to balance the dish. For an appetizer I got the lasagna. It was a power decent sized portion. The meat was so tender. The overall taste was fantastic. I had never had a lasagna like that before. I took the person that I didn't eat home and had it for lunch the next day. It was even better the next day.

Referred by Yelp. Hard to get a reservation place is so popular Food is very good. Their Ceasar salad had a nice twist. The short ribs were a little fatty but very tender. Kind of a cold place was not a favorite

That's clearly communicated when you're greeted, so naturally it sets the expectation for shareable portions. We started with the ricotta and meatballs. Overall, portions felt on the smaller side, but the ricotta, especially at $18, was honestly a bit shocking in size. When we asked about it, a server jokingly said "inflation." I get it, but still. The two guys I dined with come here often and were actually the ones pointing out that portions have seemed to shrink. For mains, we each ordered a pasta. One was a server recommended agnolotti with crab, corn, and roe. It was decent, but the broth felt a bit too loose and could've used more depth and richness. That said, the crab portion was generous, the pesto was great, and the red sauce pasta was solid. We also ordered two pizzas, hands down the highlight of the meal. Easily the best thing we had. One small but off putting detail, the red pepper flakes were served in an open jar rather than a shaker. It made me question how many hands had been in it, especially since it appeared to have been reused from another table. Not the most sanitary presentation. Dessert was a strong finish. Panna cotta, tiramisu, and olive oil cake were all fresh and delicious. Drinks included a cocktail for me and beers plus an espresso martini for the table, all fine. Service wise, things started okay but felt rushed toward the end. We even mentioned we were still picking at food and what seemed to be a manager still cleared plates from the table. The tables themselves are also very small, which doesn't help when you're doing family style dining. Our server appeared to be training someone but never introduced them, which made things feel a bit awkward. Also, when resetting silverware, it felt rushed and a little careless, almost tossed onto the table rather than placed. Overall, the experience was good but not great. The food had its highlights, but portion sizes versus price and some service missteps held it back. 6/10, and honestly it reminded me why I hadn't felt the urge to come back before.

Since it is Lent we chose to eat seafood no meat. The black squid's ink was fishy tasting and flat. You may get a tablespoon of lump crab. I did dip my pizza crust into the sauce to finish the dish. Chile oil on table was wonderful. We ordered a margarita pizza , I found the cheese chewy and cold. The tomato sauce was a bit on the acidic side and for me could have been cooked to a mellower flavor. I am not going to lie there are far better cheaper places to get much better pies. The dessert. The cannolis were a disappointment. I even ask the girl to let the chef know the skins were tuff. Hard time breaking them apart with the spoon we were given. The expresso over vanilla ice cream ,with biscuits was excellent. There are so many better restaurants in New Orleans. I would skip and find somewhere where the food is above average .

I eat just about anything. I don't shy away from Taco Bell, or even gas station food but I also frequent high end restaurants. I'd rather eat McDonald's over Mona Lisa. The only decent aspect of my meal was the decor in the restaurant. Even the server was short and cold. The food at Mona Lisa is all low quality frozen stuff that they buy from restaurant depot. It was all bland and boring. I would say that at-best the food is mediocre but edible. It feels to me like an elevated Cici's pizza in there. Kale & Brussel salad was very tasty. It was paired with a lemon/anchovy vinaigrette and thin sliced red onions.
