Zero stars. The worst rental experience ever. Despite a confirmed reservation, I was informed that they did not have a car for me. And no alternatives. Beware!! Do not rent from here unless you want to be treated like a sucker! New owners that do not honor the 1 hour grace period which is standard at car rental places worldwide ( he said their grace period is 25 minutes...huh?!). We were on time and waited to be serviced for 30 minutes while he worked with one, yes one other customer. He realized his error and we moved on with check in of car BUT THEN... before he even checked car's fuel, and I brought it back with a full tank- he said he needed to charge me for gas because I did not drive more than 75miles- WHAT?, I have never heard of that one?! I swear the man was just making it up as he went along... New owners seem petty and unethical. I miss the family that owed it before, Nasir and his family. They were fair & true business men that welcomed you, picked you up if necessary, gave loyal customers coupons and service was always with a smile and "good seeing you again (name)". This is a convenient location at studio city. I picked up a car at LAX at 8am. Drove around, did some shopping and then dropped the family off at the hotel. I returned the car to studio city location that afternoon and huffed it back to the hotel (1/2 mile away). We were at Universal studios for a couple days and I didn't need to pay for the car to sit there in the garage. The half mile hike was not a problem. I under estimated the steepness of the hill. It made for quit the workout on a 90+ degree day. read more

Had a very bad experience with this particular AVIS. The basic story is that I had to modify my reservation (which in my contract it says I can do) and they charged me. They also charged me $34 for "misc. fees" and overcharged me for the loss-damage waiver. In their brilliance, they also mistakenly made 3 different reservations for me and had to send me multiple receipts because they kept screwing them up. After my husband tried to deal with them directly, the owner, Barry, seemed very unintelligent and unhelpful. He said they would refund the $10 late fee (my car wasn't late). I finally called AVIS customer service directly at the 800 number and turns out, he never did the refund. I was actually owed a refund of $46. I cannot rent from a company that lies and overcharges. I do think this specific location is the issue and not AVIS in general but it looks horrible for the brand. read more

Absolutely STELLAR experience at this location. I have rented a ton of cars from multiple companies and without a doubt this was the best experience. Not only is the Avis experience much more streamlined than other places but this location in particular is spectacular. The level of customer service I received was next level. So fast; everything explained up front. VERY NICE staff. Just fantastic. Without a doubt, the best! I will be renting from them again for sure. I imagine that the prices vary but the rate I got was also fantastic. Wait time was non-existent. I only say this because The day before I rented from Avis, I rented from the H company at their airport location and LITERALLY waited 2 hours for a car. -- Anywho, check this location out. When we arrived, they didn't have the vehicle we had reserved. Alex, the man who helped us, apologized over and over for the mistake. We ended up getting lucky and someone returned a mini van while we were waiting and he gave us that vehicle instead. He bent over backwards to help us. Thanks again Alex! read more

New owner!!! I walked into this place having had a negative experience down the street at Enterprise. Eventually I walked out of Enterprise (which no one really noticed) and walked a block down the street to Avis where I met a charming man who had literally just opened -- he just bought the place. It was empty, just the owner and a custodian. Within 10 minutes I had a 4 door jeep (small SUV) for a reasonable price. He didn't push the insurance on me. The car was clean and the whole process was painless. What a breath of fresh air. The Avis owner cares about his business. Don't expect to be picked up just yet; this depends on your location and time of day. Just uber your way there and be treated with respect! read more

Excellent customer service, returned a vehicle here from a location in San Diego. In SD was apparently given a different car than what the computer system indicated. Instead of making us wait for the issue to be resolved, we were told we could leave since the mix-up wasn't our wrongdoing. read more

Every since the management got switched for this location customer service has gone down! We rented a car recently and they wouldn't let us pick up the car until the exact reservation time. When we return the credit even when the arrow was pointing to F they still wanted to claim it wasn't full. We are preferred members with Avis but we will start renting from other locations because of the terrible customer service. Typically they upgrade your when they don't have the car type you want here they downgrade you and still charge you the same price, no discounts for not having the car you originally reserved and giving you a worse car. Bring back the old management where they actually care about their customers instead of treating them as just another transaction and being money hungry! Richard was very helpful in making sure I got a car that would work for me. I needed to transport a bicycle and stopped by the week prior to my reservation to check if it would fit. Richard gave good advice on makes/models and on the best times to pick up the car. He was there on the rental day as promised and made sure everything was good. Excellent customer service. read more

Im appalled at the customer service I received through this company. The man refused to give me a car. He said my license was not valid. When I asked to speak to a manager he said he was the manager. I called enterprise and hertz and both places said my license was completely valid and there are no policies against a license that is not expired (my license is NOT expired) I asked if I could call around on my phone to find another rental place and he told me I could not stay there and make phone calls. There was a rental car place just across the street. I asked if I could keep my car parked (he had at least 3 spaces open and NO other customers) while I walked over to find another car. He said no. I was calm, respectful, and collected until the end of our interaction. I have been working in the customer service industry and I understand company policies, but this was not a company policy. I called other Budget and Avis locations and every one would have honored my license. I decided to go with Hertz on Victory Blvd in Burkank because they had the best deal with an upgrade for my trouble! read more
