This Avis location in downtown Seattle was only few minutes from my hotel. I reserved a one day rental from here few weeks ahead. The rental was restricted to open hours of the store, meaning I had to pick up the car after 8 am and return it by 4pm. Upon arriving at the location, I saw it was a parking garage location with a small office. Initially there was only one representative helping a customer. While I was waiting in line, another representative came in and handed me the car keys within a minute, after confirming my reservation. I got to pick the model among the available ones. I walked to the parking spot on the second floor. The area appeared slightly under maintained. The car was fully clean outside and inside. All accessories were operational. We drove the car all day, for about 150 miles without any issues. I brought the car back to the garage around 3:45pm. A staff member scanned the bar car and processed the return on the spot. I handed the key to the representative inside the office and we were on our way. Overall it was a smooth rental experience, but I wish they had after hours return and slightly better garage conditions. read more

Sunny is absolutely phenomenal, best Abis Agent I've met and I've seen plenty. She is first of all Happy which is refreshing if you know fifth Ave. She broke down everything in details and kept her cool even though the line kept building up and I'm not time she cleaned everything. Please Acknowledge and rewards her because such work ethic is super rare nowadays! read more

Avis Rent A Car - The line after 15mn - Car Rental Near Me - Seattle, Washington

The car we reserved wasn't available. We had to take a huge ford bronco and put almost $100 in gas. You have to search for the car. They were going to make us take a small car to smother location for another car. We had to wait almost hmmm hour and go back 3 times to the desk to tell them we still didn't have the car. read more

Super nice staff! Very easy in and out! Car was very clean and directions were very clear!

**Great Manager, Made a Big Difference!** Family and I arrived about an hour and a half early before our rental time. The lady with the braids at the counter, who my wife spoke to, was very rude and flatly told my wife we'd be charged extra for the early pickup. We asked if there was anything we could do and she, again, was very rude and blunt about how she'd immediately charge us. I have children and would have liked to leave as soon as we noticed a homeless man walking outside yelling obscenities, along with other homeless residents walking around. Fortunately, I was able to get the manager's attention to see if he could help us out. I witnessed him speaking to a very argumentative and frustrating customer. The manager calmly and clearly explained the same thing to the customer several times in a patient and professional manner. The customer clearly did not have the gas tank filled per agreement upon return of the vehicle and continued to argue the point that he did not understand this policy. Don't you read and sign this agreement before taking the rental care every time? I was honestly amazed at how the manager stayed so calm and polite, even though it seems like he deals with this kind of thing day in and day out. The manager was able to get us our vehicle within several minutes, with no extra charges and no problems. We were on our way and very happy with our clean rental car. Please promote this man as he's clearly deserving of a higher position. Much Mahalos for turning our experience around and showing what real customer service looks like! Much Mahalos! read more

I accidently left my phone in a rental under my partners names, The phone is on silent and the current rental is unaware that my phone is trackable and in their rental. I can see where the phone is currently located but have no way of getting there. I called only to be told to call again. After multiple attempts and asked to submit a lost and found claim. Baffled its this hard to reach their office. I would never recomment this car service, they rental itself was the same as most places, clean and it drove getting me place to place. Its very difficult to not meet this requirement as a company that has new vehicles. I strongly urge you if you are traveling not to use this company. I'm local and have had a hard time getting in contact with the actual store. I have to literally walk there just to ask them if they can notify the current reservation that my phone is in the car. I dont need to know any of their information. I just needed a employee to know and file a lost report. This is going to cost me getting a phone replacement or calling AAA to break into the vehicle to get my cell phone back. I use my phone at work and have missed important deadlines and calls that have now affect my possition with the company. I spent time and money finding a way to replace my phone because this company ends assistance the moment you return the vehicle. I spent hours dealing with this issue with no resolve. Customer service apologize and was only able tell me keep calling. Imagine borrowing someone else phone line to call for two hours straight with no solution. I know where the car is, I knoe cell phon is in it and I am extrememely dissappointed in this location and this company for not have the proper protical to deal with this. This was my first and last experiance. I am hoping to save some one from the trouble while traveling and accidently leaving your phone behind in a one of their rental cars. You probably wont get it back right away its been two day and they closed early enough where I cannot make it to the location unless i take the day off of work. It is such a commend mishappening that I am question how well prepared they are to deal with anything outside of pick up and drop off. Oh and to think they cleaned the vehicle and did such a great job that my phone is in the rental still. Can you believe what I am resorting too. I now have to approach the new renter and ask him if i can search the car once 2 pm hits, its the only choice i have let. Imagine renting a car and ask a stranger to search a car you rented. Im wasting their time and my time doing all this. Avoid this company if you are traveling, I would have missed a flight if it would have been my passport or luggage. Its not worth the gamble to deal with a company that doesnt take travels into consideration. I said all this to them and they said "sorry there is nothing we can do for you, your going to have to keep calling" unbelievable they have a whole department and thats their solution to a lost and found claim. ALL i needed was for them to contact the current reservation to let them know my cell phone was inthe car. Dont expect much outside of picking up and dropping off its a waste of time wouldnt recommend due to lack of awardness, urgency, unprofessionalism and availabilty. read more

Very nice experience. Quick and efficient service. Really helpful staff. Great location.

This is a downtown rental and convenient place from my son apartment. Easy to get to and return. It is just walking distance from downtown area. One tip for this rental place is they open 7 am to 7 pm. There is not overnight drop off. So plan your rental return time according. The reason they don't have the night drop because they are the downtown garage system which the door will shut after hours. In every morning of the door open, expect line build up and wait time. Unless you are Avis Prefer member, you need to follow the line. This popular place due to downtown business and hotel. Easy and convenient. The reason they received average grade because they are really short handed on the counter to receive the customers. Make sure you fill up your gas tank before returning because it is difficult to find gas station here. read more

Amazing car service and very good rates. We rented car 2 times from this place and we were very happy. First time we got Jeep Cherokee and second time Mazda SUV . Both times process was very smooth. We returned Mazda in California and we paid only $400 for 1 week! This is incredible good price compare to competitors during that month. read more

Arrived early and they were able to accommodate us and with an upgrade. Very friendly and helpful with directions.

Had a great experience - another discount car rental place had cancelled our order, we were left stranded, walked into this Avis spot without a reservation and they gave us a car immediately AND beat the price of the other rental spot. Super great service. read more

Avis should be embarrassed allowing this franchise to use their name. I have never had such poor customer service in my life and will never use Avis again. read more

BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I had spoken to a agent at this location who was very rude, yelling at me, cut me off when I was trying to explain then hung up on my face twice! I called again and after asking for his name, he refused to give to me then hang up in my face. Now they are refusing to answer the phones at the desk. I have called this branch over 20 times and they still are purposely answer the phone. I also don't get how Avis company has all these numbers to dial on their website but each one is disconnect. Again, i spent thousands of dollars for their services that I use consecutive each month and get treated this way. Its ridiculous! read more

Been renting from this location for the past 6 months and I am loving it. Ellen is so good with what she is doing. She always keeps the car ready before checkin, completes the paperwork promptly, offers free upgrades if available (even if we dont ask for it), does a detailed walkthrough of the car to look for any scratches, damage, etc. If we do not pick the car by pickup time Ellen does give a courtesy call checking if we have changed plans or if we are on our way and same with return. Specially during covid times, no matter how many folks are waiting out, Ellen and her team make sure to sanitize each and every car post return and only then make it available to the next customer. 10/10 for customer service at this location. Very happy and will keep renting from this location! read more

I won't recommend any one to use AVIS... I won't recommend any one to use AVIS first of all the Customer Services lady ELLEN did not explain that if you are late Avis is going to deduct one 2nd day, I was late for 2 hours, returned the vehicle at 3pm. Compare to Enterprise & Other rental deduction was calculated hourly. If I knew I would have hold on to the car until the next day. She was unprofessional that she did not explain the penalty. Only one front desk worker. Had to wait more than a hr. They need to hire more people to get job done. The lady working there was fast and excellent, just really understaffed. read more

I felt that I had to reach out and write a review on my experience. If you are in a hurry please stay far away from this site. They are understaffed and when you are checked in, you have to wait for someone to drive your car down from the garage to you. That same person is also checking in cars from returns, causing a bottle neck of people. Essentially you are having to wait in two lines: check in, and awaiting your car. I was treated better during pledging for a fraternity than I was during my Avis check in process. Also if you have Avis preferred it means absolutely nothing to them. read more

This place is an absolute disaster. Came here to pick up a car to pick up my disabled parents from the cruise terminal and the line was literally out the door. They had only 2 people not only checking in customers but for some stupid crazy reason also doing car return despite the other 10 employees that were doing who knows what outside. For 10 people it literally took 20 minutes per person and if they weren't holding up the line enough with their incredibly inefficient process they were trying to sell insurance and other ancillary bullshit! We had 8 hours to spend in Seattle 2 of them were spent in line at AVIS while my poor disabled parents sat outside in the sun watching their bags! The lobby was filled with disgruntled customers and my boyfriend literally will be frustrated for the rest of the day thanks to this absolute bullshit they call service. Thank you AVIS for ruining my last day of vacation!!!! I repeat... DO NOT use AVIS or Budget pay the extra money and go to any other car rental and you might actually be able to get a car in a reasonable amount of time and not ruin your entire day!!!! What a complete waste of time!!!!!!!!!! What absolute shit!!!!I hate you AVIS!!!!! Rant over! read more

Avis Rent A Car - Read between the lines AVIS customer service! What absolute - Car Rental Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Ohhhhh, this was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had in car rentals. The staff seemed indifferent and even upset that I'd bring a car to them without filling the gas. For the record, this company royally screws you if you return a car without filling the gas. I've dealt with paying higher charges for returning a car with less gas, but they charged FOUR times the actual cost of gas. The original attendant who set us up with the vehicle glossed over that point. And, we waited easily for a half hour in line to get the vehicle, then an additional twenty minutes for curbside drop off. Only to have some grumpy guy park the vehicle in the parking lot, walk up to us and hand off the keys. He walked the perimeter, signed off on his sheet and walked away with so much as a thank you. Avis is trash. I will forever campaign against this company and it's garbage service and inflated pricing. read more

I hate to write a bad review but we experienced the worst service of any Avis location we've ever been to. Waited over an hour for a car even though we paid for Avis Preferred and then we were given a filthy car. There aren't enough people working at this location so that the people working the counter also have to go and get your car, leaving a line of people waiting. read more

I'd give them zero star if I could. Confusing set up. Rude car jockey... called me stupid for stopping up front when all their lanes are occupied. Only one lady servicing both return and rental. The most inefficient and worst customer serviced location I have ever been to. On the contrary, the KOMO Plaza (100 4th Ave N.) location is extremely nice and service oriented. Night and day! I'd go back to KOMO for sure. read more

My boyfriend and I had a pretty good experience with this car rental place. After a disappointing morning with the Hertz company in the area, we were rushing to find a car to rent, and Avis definitely came in clutch! What a nightmare! Picked up our rental car from AVIS only to have it breakdown. Couldn't get through to anyone at AVIS, so we played an audible and called their Customer Service line. Only way we could reach a human being was by pressing #1 and answering as if we were looking to rent a vehicle. Even then we were disconnected THREE TIMES. Since this incident we have attempted to get a partial refund. We've called 19 TIMES. 6 of these calls ended in disconnects. We were told a manager would call - that was a week ago and NO CALL. AVIS will take care of you ONLY UNTIL THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY THAN YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. We paid $816 for a rental, have no recourse for their irresponsible business practices and are left infuriated and taken advantage of. Learn from our mistakes. read more

5+ stars to the female employee who helped us yesterday at 1pm pick up a Jeep to drive up the coast with. Incredibly kind and courteous, made the process extremely easy. 4 stars for the quality jeep we drove. **This place is under new management.** The whole car renting process was painless. Customer service was top notch. Easy. Breezy. I was in and out with a flash with no issues whatsoever. Rented a car for a road trip to avoid a lot of wear and tear on my car. Got unlimited miles on a Prius which was sweet. Spent next to nothing on gas on top of a good rate. Centrally located in the heart of the city -- right across the street from the Westin Hotel which is super convenient for out of town visitors or tourists who are staying in the area. You don't have to go all the way to the airport to rent a car if you decide last minute to see other parts of the city. I'll definitely be back if I ever need to rent another car. read more

Worst Avis ever, this place is an operation nightmare. basically it took an hour to pick up the car. the staff couldn't find the reservation. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I had reservations for a car and they tell me they had no cars. I come here every couple of months. It's true that the wait can feel long, even when it's not. It annoys me that I have to confirm my address and online reservation details every time -- even when I was renting a car every single month for a year. I'd like them to just look me up, toss me the keys and nod toward the door, without even getting off the phone. Or something that recognizes that I'm not a random tourist. But I keep coming back because they don't waste your time walking around the vehicle at pickup. And you don't have to wait in line to drop off the car if you fill out the mileage, fuel and time on the rental agreement. Plus, they called when I left something in the car and kept it for me until the next time I showed up. And they're happy to give me a ride home in the rain. So, yeah, kind of slow, but decent. read more

If I could give this Avis 0 stars I would. The older man that works here is extremely rude. I would definitely rent from anywhere but here.

5 stars for Nestor's patient and helpful customer service at the desk at this downtown Seattle location! He was courteous and calm to explain the situation to me in the midst of total meltdown disaster caused by other Avis departments as follows. 1 star for Avis's horrendous inventory management which meant our pre-paid reserved vehicle was not available for a full hour after our reservation time. 1 star for Avis's miserable territorial management which included hanging up on me twice when asking for a solid estimate of how soon a vehicle would arrive. Apparently rudeness and late service are ordinary operations at the territorial level here. read more

Great service from staff named Charles today. Had to extend a rent more than two months. Charles did this as quickly as possible and found a way to give me the lowest possible price. Unfortunately this was a nightmare experience for myself and about 10 other people. I stood in line for over an hour then waited an additional 15 mins for the vehicle. The manager of this location should consider that it is a service business and staff accordingly. When we walked in the door the couple in the front of the line said they had been there for an hour and 20 mins. They were not kidding. Cars were not ready and employees were stressed from the very angry clients. This is all on the manager. Saturday when you see reservations are up staff needs to be also up. Nothing was offered to anyone for the inconvenience and we all lost precious time of our vacation. read more

Eek! I wish I read these reviews before booking my car at this Avis location. As others have mentioned, we got there and waited in line for about an hour! This was after waiting at Pier 91 for pickup for over an hour. On top of that, the van could only hold me and my husband (there was another large party), so my parents were stuck at the pier while we got the car. The service at the office was horrible. It was so slow, and they didn't seem to mind keeping their customers waiting. One of the folks in line was waiting just to return a car! When I asked the agents what the address of their office was, they didn't know! I went out to the street to figure it out myself. When I asked what the zip code was, they again didn't know! We went with Avis because they would allow us to pick-up and drop-off the car at different locations with no additional charge. This saved us a bunch of money (it was about $100 cheaper than Alamo). We also chose them because they said they would pick us up from the Cruise Terminal...we didn't know it would turn out to be such a hassle. We only had a short time in Seattle, and half the day was over before we got our car. I did notice a sign in the office that said the office is independently operated. This was my first time using Avis, so I'm not sure how this compares to the other locations. read more
