    worst customer service ever.

    if you have any other options, use them. the phone tree and automated assistance alone are reasons to avoid these guys - but when my car died on day 5 of an 8 day rental, their incompetence, and bureaucratic approach were mind numbing, let alone the unfair way they felt that offering me 1 day free rental might be compensation for the insanity of a day trying to deal with them and 3 days lost.

    The customer service agent was not very friendly. He needs to work on his Customer Service skills. The customer comes first!

    Rude and unhelpful. No customer service. Never again. Basically having a reservation means nothing and life happens.

Instead, I was met with total disappointment and lack of accountability. I reserved a Full-Size SUV weeks in advance for a critical task: transporting athletes for the Olympic Committee. Upon arrival, I was told the branch was sitting at negative nine (-9) cars. How a rental hub manages to overbook to that extent is mind-boggling. The "solutions" offered were insulting: * Zero Accountability: I was told a customer support manager would call me to resolve the situation. I was there almost a week. Surprise--nobody ever called. * Passing the Buck: The staff literally told me to go check with Avis. Avis (rightfully) quoted a Suburban at $400 a day because of the last-minute nature of the request. * Financial Drain: Because National failed to honor a high-tier reservation, I had to shell out roughly $200 a day in Ubers just to get my athletes to their venues on time. Despite my status and the clear professional stakes involved, the staff offered absolutely nothing to mitigate the disaster they created. No voucher, no shuttle assistance, no effort. I have to return to Gainesville in two weeks, and I can say with certainty that I will never step foot in this National location again. They clearly don't value their "highest-status" members or basic professional reliability. Avoid this location at all costs if you actually need a car to be there when you arrive.

This week I experienced the worst customer service EVERY! Starting Monday I received a vehicle thinking I could pick what I wanted to drive for the next 3 months. However, that was not the case for me starting with the 3 customers in front of me had two options of vehicles to choose from and when It came to me, I was NOT offered a choice at all. Nevertheless, I walk out to the vehicle it was dirty and had not been washed. The Counter agent Micheal came out to the parking lot to verify, and I asked about other vehicles on the lot and He started Hollering at me, yelling about the car type I reserved and they don't have any cars. As I looked around other customers were watching the drama. I have never been so embarrassed. He told me to come back on Thursday I can change out the vehicle. I returned on Thursday as soon as I approached the counter, I spoke with Micheal again and he already had a vehicle I was not happy with picked out. I said why do I always have problems here at this location It cause me to have anxiety ? To make matter worst the Branch Manger Williams get on the phone and calls my Employer to complain that I am asking for a vehicle out of my class that was reserved. I had never even spoke with the Manger Mr. Williams, he was inserted himself thinking the phone call will get me in reprimanded. I have rented from national continuously for the past 6 years for 11 months at a time spending 20 to 30k each year and this is the treatment I received. Every location across the county has been an amazing experience! Gainesville Airport Location Managers does not represent National Rental Car Standards or their Values as a Company I will let ALL of my co-worked. Friends, family every media outlet know What happened and how I was treated and to ADVISE them not to rent from that location.

I realized I needed to return it a day earlier than I had planned because of a pre scheduled flight I had the day of, in another city. Due to the prepay option, I would not be refunded for the extra day. I tried contacting customer service to either take off the extra day or to cancel and rebook. The first rep I spoke with was not very nice and told me there's nothing he could do and I would just have to return it early and hope that the shop would refund me. When I tried to explain that the policy told me that I wouldn't be refunded due to prepaying he repeated that he could not help me and then ended the chat. The second rep I got was even ruder than the first and had a nasty attitude the whole time. I was asking for help trying to figure out a way to cancel or change the schedule and she repeated "there's nothing I can do on my end" and instead of trying to assist me with options to change it she started getting irritated with me as I was trying to ask questions the figure out what I should do and also ended the chat on me. I finally found a way to cancel my rental hours later and I will say, I will NEVER be doing business with Hertz Again. It's a shame because I got automatic gold status with my credit card and I was excited to start using this company. Maybe try hiring more pleasant staff and setting a service standard. According to reviews this is a common theme with this company.
