I used Juan from Murphy Taxi Service for a pick-up from the Gzinesville Airport very, very early on the morning of June 24th (1:45 am). The dispatcher made it easy to make arrangements with Juan, and Juan was terrific in all ways. He was there as soon as we went outside with our bags, drove us home in a nice clean and roomy SUV, and was very cordial. I highly recommend Murphy Taxi and Juan. When I next need a taxi, I will definitely request Juan for my driver. I don't post a lot of reviews, but the experience from the airport was such a nice end to a VERY long trip home from Germany, I felt like the satisfaction we felt ought to be acknowledged. read more

Guy is a real asshole...quoted me a price of 178.00 for 60mile trip 30 there 30 back. So when I told him Uber is 39.00 there and 39.00 back commissions included he preceded to call me a liar and he knew for a fact and that I still had to include a tip..so i had to send him a screen shot of a scheduled trip of the same address...he still proceeded to be an ass...he was almost 100.00 higher for the same trip and a major prick...i repeat do not use this company...its literally highway robbery by an asshole read more

I highly recommend Murphy's Taxi for pre-scheduled appointments where timeliness is essential. While they charge more than Uber/Lyft, they are FAR more reliable. I have had the unfortunate experience with Uber and Lyft having 30-45 minute delays at times. This isn't an issue if I'm not in a hurry; however, it could be a problem if I have a flight to make or doctor's appointment to be at. That is where Murphy's fits in for me. I used them twice to get to the Prometric testing site where I can give them lots of notice of my appointment and they have gotten the job done each time (stress-free). They take timeliness quite seriously (when they are given advance notice) that is their specialty. I'll admit that Murphy's is probably no good for someone with unscheduled needs as the driver may not be available to show up immediately. Uber/Lyft will likely get you there faster and cheaper for unscheduled needs. read more

Murphy's promptly picked up my daughter from UF to get her to the airport for. 6:30am flight. The driver called her when he arrived at the dorm at 5am so she did not have to wait outside. The only thing that was negative was that the car smelled of cigarettes. Otherwise she arrived on time and made her flight. read more

Our daughter had car problems passing through Gainesville on the way from Tallahassee to UCF. We had her car towed to a dealership and later had to get her to the dealership. I was in Gainesville for a conference during UF's spring break. I got into town after midnight (delayed flight) and my cab was ready and waiting for me. I really appreciate that Murphy's asked for my flight number so I wouldn't have to call to reschedule my pick up when my flight was delayed. As a college-aged woman traveling alone (and at night, no less), having the taxi pick me up the second I walked out the airport doors was reassuring and comforting. I happened to get the owner as my driver (I appreciate that the owner not only drives, but is willing to take the late night pick ups) and my trip was filled with pleasant conversation. The cab was very clean and ready for passengers -- in fact, the front seat was already pulled forward so I would have maximal leg room in the back! I appreciate the little details. Called around for a taxi to take my patient home safely and found Murphy's Taxi, who's rated NUMBER # 1 in Gainesville on YELP!. Craig (the owner) answered and was happy to oblige our request. Craig gave me his driver's cell number and I called it and Anthony was just as nice as the guy who owns the company. They are definitely people persons.
