Unfortunately, Avis didn't have the car in that we were supposed to get. So we end up getting a Highlander. The car was not clean and had a heavy stench of Marijuana, which is not good for a child. We informed Avis about this and they gave us a little bit of credit. The general manager, Kyle Cooper, sent us an email letting us know to contact him if we had a problems. Unfortunately, he never got back to us, despite multiple phone calls and emails, really poor service! His partner, Andrew Egan, was supposed to remove a bogus charge they put on our bill. He said he did, but upon checking with the bank, he never followed through. Thankfully we got it removed, with no help from Avis. They also tried to put some other bogus charges on our account. We could not recommend them in good conscience to anyone else.

Never have a problem with Avis. Just get the free preferred card and you just show up and take your car! So easy. Austin airport Has all the rental car agencies in one spot. Walking distance to the airport. No need to take a shuttle of any kind.

I booked my rental reservation using the number I thought was for the Enterprise that had a shuttle with that location but the day before I was to pick it up I got a call (on a Sunday) saying that location did not have a shuttle or transport to that body shop location. I then had the right direct line because of the email confirmation and called the location. They transferred me to this location to move the reservation that same day but this location also didn't have a shuttle service BUT Nick Knight was very helpful and said they would do me a solid and make sure someone could pick me up so I didn't have to be routed to yet another location! Even though they were short staffed that day (a few folks had called in sick), they picked me up, got me a good comparable car, set up me up with a decent rate, and when I returned it made sure the rate was adjusted to 4 days vs. the 5 days the system was quoting me. And one of their employees who didn't technically work at that location but was there for some admin because he helps with their luxury rental line, took me back to Caliber to pick up my car since they were short staffed. I really appreciated them trying to make things easier for me despite the challenges they were facing and everyone did it with a cool and easy attitude! Hard to do these days, so I was extra appreciative of the team that worked there.

We had no issues. They have drop box and it's easy to return outside of business hours. We will use them again!

Ok so here's my experience renting a truck from Longhorn...when I wanted to rent here I was kinda…read moreworried after reading the bad reviews since I was going to drive from Austin to Las Vegas and pickup my stuff in storage and then drive back. Its a freaking LONG drive!! But I called Longhorn and told them about my concerns and their pricing was much better than U-Haul or Penske or even one way trips from Vegas to Austin. I have to say they did great with customer service in every way...I told them I had one hell of a trip coming up with 20hrs there and back and over 40hrs driving and here's what I rented and what they did to the truck before I rented it to make sure by trip was safe and without problems. - 15 ft, 2019 Box Truck with only 40,000 miles - New front tires - New brakes - Oil change - Diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fuels both full And they gave me their repair tech's cell number to call anytime on the road in case of problems or concerns. Seriously I got treated very well and I just finished my grueling three day drive and dropped the truck off. Also went through a snow storm in AZ around Flagstaff and this truck handled just fine thanks to the new front tires they put on for me. The miles I paid were 15 cents a miles compared to way over 70-90 cents a mile charged by U-Haul or Penske and the rental was very affordable and also my Geico Insurance covered the truck no problem at no extra charge. This is my 5 STAR review for Longhorn Rentals since I have read so many bad reviews on here and I had a really quality experience renting from them! My advice, make sure you know that the truck you are renting has good tires, oil change, good care and give Longhorn a try since they are priced way better than other truck rentals and their customer service rocked!

I work a federal job that requires me to travel a lot and often i'll rent a car and drive to…read moreneighboring states or cities, and Budget is my go to rental company. I alternate between this location and the one a little further down Burnet because they both have great staff and they've gotten to know me and my needs as a disaster worker. Every time i've been to this location Ive gotten a free upgrade to an SUV at the economy rate because he knows that Im often driving in the the country and don't want to get stuck in deep water on dirt driveway. The gentleman that works at this location has on several occasions ordered vehicles from the airport for me, when i've had enough time to wait for a better car. That's awesome service and why i keep coming back!

This is one of the offices which helped me out when I had an issue with one of my rental cars, which was not rented from this office (rented in Houston), but they were nice about it. I was later billed way too much, in fact it should have been free, but I'm not sure if that's the fault of this office or the company. They've been shady like that for a long time and it gets really old. I kind of tend to blame both. For the experience I had when I came in here it was okay. For trying to reach them afterwards it was awful. And for the overcharging that left a negative taste in my mouth. Overall I'll give them a three but it could easily have been a two and some people would have given them a one considering.

This location is now a Budget/Avis and the staff here is really great. They know i work in federal…read moredisaster response, and having a low bodied car while driving out in the country in flooded roads can be dangerous. So i'm very appreciative that they have usually upgraded me to SUV and even a full F150 truck on one occasion (that was actually a fun few weeks to have there huge truck for work). I'll always go to either this location or the Avis a little further up Burnet in the shopping center at Research Blvd.

But when I'm in town & need a rental, I'll use Priceless, because it's all about cost. The fact I'm even screwing around with a local rental means I'll be in a less than amicable mood, and Priceless has always come through. And it's always been some 2017 varietal of a Chevy Cruze. I know they have bigger cars & even Jeeps, but I'm okay with Cruze, because I'm paying exactly $38.72 a day for it. And when I've rented it by the week, it's been exactly $203.73. Discount? Cool. You can use either credit or debit cards, they're not there Sundays, and if you need extra rental time, call them. One quirky thing - the first time I used Priceless, I reserved & paid with my debit card, and they put a $150 hold on my credit card. They said on their website they would do this, and the hold was reversed after I returned the car. But since that first time, I still make resos & payments with my debit card, and they've done nothing with my credit card. I don't know what that means. Maybe they like me now. I do know when I need a car rental in Austin, I already like them.

Just wanted to say that Sean Knox is fantastic! I met him initially in June when I stopped by with my daughter for her service appointment. He very simply greeted me and held the door open for me, which in turn had me inquire about a potential future Subaru purchase. He made such a positive impression that when I finally decided to make my purchase in December I sought him out specifically. He was/is very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. He is down to earth and not pushy which is a very welcome surprise as "most" sales people at various dealerships are off-putting, thus losing out on my business. Sean goes the extra mile and makes you feel special and part of the Subaru family. As a result I referred a friend to him, who also made a purchase, and I will continue to refer him and your dealership. You are lucky to have such a dedicated and hard working individual on your team. Thanks Sean!

Would give 0 stars if possible. We purchased a 2019 Subaru…read moreOutback 3.6L brand new from Subaru Austin and owned it for 6 years, putting approximately 120,000 miles on the vehicle. We bought this vehicle because of everything Subaru stands for: "94% of them are still on the road after 10 years", they're durable and long lasting, we're outdoorsy, gay, have dogs, all of the stereotypes check check check. We loved our service guy, but hindsight, we were screwed by this dealership: Every service--oil changes, filters, transmission services, inspections, and all recommended maintenance--was performed exclusively at Subaru Austin. Over those years, we spent well over $20,000 on service and repairs. For tens of thousands of miles (well before 60K), I repeatedly documented and reported transmission-related symptoms: Jerking and hesitation Poor acceleration and lack of power RPMs surging unpredictably Difficulty driving uphill Eventually, consistent burning smells Each time, we were told it could be the transmission but they were unable to diagnose any issue. At approximately 90,000 miles, Subaru of America agreed to cover 50% of major engine repairs (CVT front pump chain and CS head gasket), which required removing the engine and still cost us over $6,000 out of pocket. Less than 30,000 miles later, we were told the CVT had completely failed and needed to be replaced for $10,000, or we could purchase a used transmission with 66K miles for $2,800, or Subaru Austin would offer $12,000 for the vehicle. This came immediately after another disastrous service visit where: We spent $1,400 diagnosing the wrong AC issue Returned one week later for the actual issue (cracked radiator fan) after being given the car back The vehicle was returned to us damaged (front passenger door) We provided photo and video evidence proving the damage occurred during service. Subaru Austin initially agreed to repair the door properly, acknowledging it would require full repainting and blending, costing several thousand dollars. Instead, they later reversed course and offered a $500 check, stating management had "nixed" the repair. We were also told that if we sold the vehicle back to them, we would no longer be eligible for that $500. Here is where things crossed a line. We took the vehicle to CarMax, who offered $12,000, matching Subaru Austin's offer. CarMax did not detect the transmission failure. When we attempted to negotiate with Subaru Austin using this offer, we were asked whether CarMax knew about the transmission issue. We answered honestly: no. Subaru Austin then told us they would not increase their offer--but that if we sold the vehicle to CarMax with the bad transmission, they would still give us the $500 "courtesy" check. In other words, we were encouraged to offload a vehicle with a known major defect to another dealer so Subaru Austin wouldn't have to deal with it. Talk about deceptive trade practices and fraud!!! We refused and sold the car back to Subaru Austin. Three days later, the vehicle was listed on Subaru Austin's website for over $18,000, advertised as: One-owner Local trade All services completed at Subaru Austin There was no mention of transmission issues. Given the timeline, I highly doubt a $10,000 transmission replacement occurred before relisting. A few weeks later, the listing disappeared. Shoutout to whoever bought the green/java 2019 outback 3.6L with last 4 VIN#3377... If you are considering buying or servicing a vehicle here, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, seeking independent diagnostics, and understanding that loyalty, documentation, and following all recommendations do not guarantee ethical treatment. This experience was financially devastating, emotionally draining, and completely avoidable.
