I went in for a gel manicure after going to a place for years that I love to branch out and see about a new place. I stumbled on this place bc it's close to my house. There was no manicure whatsoever - no massage no cleaning my nails, no real cuticle work and she only soaked one of my hands! Not to mention the paint job upon closer look is horrible! It was not busy - I was the only one in there for a little bit then two people came in the hour plus I was there. It was also more expensive than my normal place. New favorite place to get SNS! I've tried a lot of places and it's very difficult to get someone who can do a good coffin shape. I've been twice now and the first time I went it took 3 1/2 weeks to get new nails on and it wasn't due to any breakage but just wanted a new color. Only con I had was the receptionist when I first came in had a little bit of attitude when I came in and asked if they could do something based on an inspo photo and she said "I don't know, look if we have the colors". Which I understand that you don't want to get the clients hopes up but the response was very short and abrasive in my opinion. If you can't handle the customer load on any given day don't make appointments and keep them waiting with no acknowledgement!!! my appointment was for 5:15 got here 5 minutes early and because and only because I said something did the lady finally acknowledge me and sit me in a pedicure chair I don't know how long I'm going to be here but my appointment was for 5:15 and I didn't sit down until 5:30...my water better not be cold by the time someone gets to me!!! This is the second time I give this place a try the first time was just as bad as this time there won't be a third time!!! Terrible service!!! they do a nice pedicure but allow other clients to talk on the cell phone in the pedicure area. recently I was in there and a woman was getting a pedicure and was talking loudly on the phone and then couldn't hear the person so she put her phone on speaker. she started shouting "can you hear me" into the phone. we, clients in the room, said yes! the manger should not allow this chaos to go on and we asked him to stop it but he just ignored us. not going back. it should be relaxing. read more

I recently moved to the area and tried this place out. I'm African American and they were rude to me from the time I came in. When asked which pedicure I want, I informed them I normally get the deluxe & asked if the wax was included in the deluxe at this location, the lady didn't understand and the owner came over. He said if I'm on a budget then get the most basic package. VERY RUDE TO EVEN SAY. I told him it wasn't about money, it was my first time at this location & I didn't know what came in what package. The lady was about to begin my polish and I informed her the filing was not even, she got upset and the owner came over and said to Make it even I needed an overlay and that's "more money" .. My YELP reviews are usually positive, but not this one... This was my first experience at this business. I was their first client for the day. When I walked in, I was not greeted upon entry. The ladies were all playing with their cell phones. I was literally invisible upon entry. When I asked the closest last for help, she sighed and acted inconvenienced. Not a very welcoming first impression. My male nail technician was nice. I selected a Deluxe Pedicure, which has a longer massage. I timed it and the massage was 5 minutes each leg. Knowing that, I would not have paid the extra $10 upgrade charge. I am also very concerned about the safety of their massage chairs, I noticed exposed wires on the massage remote. That is an electrocution risk!! (See photo) I had a unused gift card. Their gift card system changed, and they were unable to pull up my gift card to use it as it was bought using their old system. I had to pay out of pocket. The manager is supposed to access their old system to verify the amount on my gift card, then call me back. I will edit this review and change the star rating (up or down) based off my follow-up conversation with management. read more

They've been my go-to for four years, and it's always amazing. The quality of service and skill (manicures, pedicures, waxing, everything) has always been top-notch. No matter how busy, they're always happy to see you. For me, it's an hour or so on the weekend without kids or work or pets or traffic ... it's so valuable to go somewhere and always be treated so well. Be sure you ask for a little extra massage .... so worth it. Today I totally brought in some weird pic from Pinterest and they indulged me and it made me so happy. I've been sick and felt like doing something different...she apologized for it taking so long, but oh my gosh it wasn't that long and I was so happy. A WARNING to all nail enthusiasts: Do not go elsewhere. If you live within an 8 mile radius of this place, do not waste your time with any other nail salon. Let's start with the pricing. Personally, if I find a place that consistently and flawlessly delivers an excellent manicure and/or pedicure, the price doesn't matter. I'm always willing to spend a few extra bucks for quality. Avenue Nails has the most affordable SNS service that I have encountered in all of my Austin neighborhoods. When I leave there, it almost feels like I'm getting away with something. Next, they have an online appointment scheduling feature, which is always a big plus for me. But even when I've wandered in there unannounced, with what looks like a full salon of customers, I'm always welcomed in and seated within 5 or so minutes. I don't know how they make it work and look so effortless, but they do. Last, this is truly a warm and lovely group of people. The hellos and small talk (and sometimes deeper talk) feel genuine. And if you visit the salon more than once, the employees will surely remember you. It's just about giving that extra step towards customer service. I've only been living on this side of Austin for about six months. I tried three other nail salons in the same area, but was intimately let down with all of them. Want to start this off by saying if you are only here for a pedicure you will be delightfully pleased!! Pedicure was amazing to say the least. Now on the other hand the manicure was the absolute worst I have ever had. The guy (owner) left my nails soaking in alcohol for A WHOLE HOUR while he tended to other clients, pretty sure he just forgot I was there, and then when he realized I was still there, no apology, just "oh you picked a color?" WELL DUH I DID ITS BEEN AN HOUR. He then proceeded to do my dip nails in 10 minutes and it was the sloppiest nail job I have ever had. He cut them down to the nub when I asked to keep them long and then never cleaned them up after he dipped them. I got in the car after and it has already chipped- ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. No ! you are not going to my nails that way. So call some one else. They lady that come was nice, but I ask who is the owner and she said the guy it was doing your manicure. It was my first time there, and i didn't have an exact picture of what I wanted but Iris gave me so much input to make my nails original! I'm very indecisive so I rely on the nail artist's opinions a lot. She was so thorough with each nail and was sure to ask me how I liked each nail once she finished.
