This is a very good place to have breakfast or lunch. Service is great! They are always ready to help you out and are flexible with changes you might need with your meal. The garlic fries here are my favorite! Portions are great. Last time we went, it was almost closing time, so maybe because of that we we believe we didn't get fresh coffee (it didn't taste fresh to us) and our burgers weren't as hot as we would have want them to be, but like I said it was the end of their business hours and for that same reason we didn't asked for it to be changed, I still believe that if we are being served at that time, it should still be fresh and hot as if it was the beginning of the day. It was Mother's Day, and we made a reservation for another place in town that was going to be a 3 hour wait! Soo, we drove Mom & the family over to Avenue Grill. Yes, they were busy and yes, we had to wait a bit..but its SOOO worth it. First off, the coffee is Very Good. That's a my sign to know that quality food is coming. My fiancee ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. Velvety gravy with a kick of spice, fried potatoes with a hint of garlic, and the chicken had a nice crust with just the right amount of juicy. Although the food was good, there is absolutely no apparent compliance with covid restrictions when we went on June 1, 2021. No wait staff, cooks, or anyone (except for one guy who wore a mask under his nose) wore masks. I had scrambled eggs, sausage links, country potatoes (awesome) and sourdough toast. Eggs were fluffy and perfect. Sausages were moist and tasty and they perfectly buttered the toast. Nice breakfast place. They serve way to much food! The ham steak and eggs Comes with potatoes and toast! The ham steak was 8" and a1/4" thick, the Scrambled.eggs must have been 4 eggs. The food was so so good and big portions as you see the pancakes are pretty big we sat in the back closed in area with the heaters on at a perfect temperature as it was chilly n windy... now let's talk The servers they were all very very nice our server was Desiree she was dressed up as Sally from nightmare before Christmas she was absolutely wonderful!! So nice! All the servers were dressed up in different costumes everybody in the place were awesome I can Definitely see why the place was packed... The food was delicious but it was the service that really makes this place stand out. Every person we interacted with went above and beyond the call to be helpful. The place was full and they treated us like we were the only ones there. We could see that everyone else was receiving the same high quality service. You have been here, right? It is always made well and the servers are super sweet. Speaking of sweat, the French toast with strawberries is a great take a break from your diet food. Or, if you are super hungry you can try and finish the carnitas breakfast plate. It's folded in half, so it might be a taco, but whatever it is delicious. Sometimes when we go a little later in the morning we get cheeseburgers and fries. These are the best fries. It seems like a fair priced place. I now I leave happy and round. Best breakfast spot in Lodi. I've been coming here since I can remember for breakfasts with the whole family. It has a small town diner feel which is part of the charm. Many little tables all packed together in a small restaurant. It can be a little crowded, but it's a good friendly energy in there, sitting close by other people and having to maneuver your way around. The staff has always been warm, inviting and attentive. The food portions are huge and always delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I recommend the one cake combo and the carnitas breakfast quesadilla. The huge pancakes are a draw. Ordered this morning a breakfast quesadilla add carnitas, short stack blueberry pancakes, biscuit & gravy, & a veggie lovers omelette. Breakfast quesadilla- unbelievable greasy and shockingly BLAND. The "carnitas" were flavorless and just tasted like pork braised in water, salt for a few hours to become fork tender. These aren't carnitas. Was very surprised how bland this entire dish was. Veggie lovers omelette- BLAND again. Lacking a lot of flavor and the English muffin that accompanied the meal was borderline over toasted. The highlights of the meal were the biscuit and gravy and the pancakes. Highly disappointed in the lack of flavor throughout the meal. I won't be back. read more
