TL;DR - GO SEE BIANCA! For a decade, I struggled with back and shoulder pain that impaired my ability to do routine daily tasks. I went to see Bianca after being referred by a friend, and I am now in the gym or golfing every single day. She fixed ten years of chronic pain in just over ten visits, and I cannot stress how highly I recommend her for anyone in need of physical therapy.
Over the past ten years, I have struggled with debilitating back and shoulder pain. I have lost count of the number of doctors, physical therapists, surgical consults, and MRIs that I have had to try to find/fix the chronic pain and discomfort I was dealing with. Painkillers, muscle relaxers, bed rest, massage therapy, AC joint injections, yoga therapy (I didn't know this was a thing), and even physical therapy are all things I have been prescribed or was told would help, but nothing did. I was a collegiate golfer, but my career was cut short due to the ailments listed above, and only get on the course once a year just to regret every minute of it because the pain is unbearable. After a decade of chronic pain and all the failed attempts at fixing the underlying issues I was having, more physical therapy was not even remotely on my radar.
A friend of mine recently went to Avant for physical therapy and suggested I give it another try, specifically working with Bianca. Obviously I was skeptical and predisposed into thinking it wouldn't help, but it couldn't make it worse, right?
After my first appointment with Bianca, I could immediately tell this was going to be different. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and listened to all my complaints/concerns. She dissected ten years of issues and ran me through a number of tests to analyze where we can begin directed treatment for what I said was my back and shoulder. For the first time in a long time, I was hopeful.
The thing I appreciated most about Bianca was her analytical approach to therapy. Every appointment, Bianca would ask me how I was doing with my exercises at home, and how my body was feeling. Based on these conversations, she would run me through some tests, and come out with a training plan that targeted areas of concern inhibiting my daily life. Bianca would breakdown specific muscles we were working on, why they needed attention, and how it would help alleviate my symptoms. This was incredibly different from other physical therapists that I've had in the past. She saw past my skepticisms and created a plan I could buy into, made me work hard for results, and held me accountable.
My main goal when I started seeing Bianca was to get to the point where I can golf and workout without weeks of pain as a consequence. I saw her once a week for 16 weeks, however, I am happy to say that after 10 weeks I was golfing every weekend, and working out 5 times a week pain-free for the first time in ten years. Working with Bianca has changed my life, and I cannot stress how highly I recommend her for anyone in need of physical therapy. read more
