Earlier this year, my occasional low back pain began increasing and became very severe. I was…read morereferred to physical therapy, and I am so glad I chose Therapeutic Associates. Rachel, my therapist, provided exercises to correct the mechanics contributing to my back problem, and explained how they work. She listened carefully to any difficulties I encountered, and proposed alternative exercises when necessary. The exercises helped enormously, and I am so grateful that I have been able to resume many activities which I had difficulty performing before my PT sessions. Rachel and her assistant Ken were friendly, thorough and explained the proper areas to focus on when exercising. I highly recommend Therapeutic Associates. Thank you!

I would give the staff of Therapeutic Associate, Ballard Physical Therapy a rating of 100 out of 5…read moreif i could!! I have been working with Dr. Rachel and her aides for the past 3 years, for different injuries. The team has been Beyond Outstanding; Beyond Superb in making sure that I become healthy and well again!! Dr. Rachel would take the time to demonstrate the exercises, and then have me perform them, with a watchful eye looking for proper form; time to hold reps; and the number of reps per set! She would have me push myself to get better, but not enough so that I would injure myself! She welcomed any, and all questions on performing the exercises; even explaining the purpose of each exercise in reaching therapy goals! At the end of each session with Dr. Rachel, she would give me the homework exercises that I would perform over the week for improvement. I would diligently follow her prescribed program. and would then gain strength, mobility, and flexibility soon!! Dr. Rachel crafted a homework exercise program that made me reach my physical therapy goals in no time!! I cannot say enough great comments about Dr. Rachel and her caring approach to help the patient!! She cares for the health and well being of her patient, and it shows!! Other therapists that I had for a few days, Adrienne and Dre also made sure that I had tremendous improvement with my therapy goals! All of my therapists, including Dr. Rachel were so actively involved with my success, that they would sometimes work out with me, at the same time I performed the exercises!! Talk about investment in my success!! Physical Therapy Aides: Isobelle, Audrey, Francis, Elijah, Becky, Chloe. Patrick, and Mario would take over in the 2nd Half of my session. They showed me, and had me perform again, the exercises that Dr.Rachel had me do, and then also had me do additional exercises that Dr. Rachel had prescribed to help me improve even faster. The aides just like Dr. Rachel, watched me carefully for proper form; time for holding the reps; and counted the number of reps per set. The aides like Dr. Rachel pushed me hard to perform the exercises, but not enough to hurt myself. Aides also had me perform the homework exercises correctly, so as to ensure that I knew them well enough when doing them during the week!! I had 3 different injuries over the past 3 years. All of my injuries no longer exist!! I actually have much more strength, mobility, and flexibility than I had before my injuries!! I have reached levels of success in my therapeutic goals, that I did not believe were possible!! Should I need PT in the future, I will not hesitate to go back to Therapeutic Associates, Ballard Physical Therapy!! I would strongly recommend anyone who wants to reach their highest PT goals, to go to Therapeutic Associates, Ballard Physical Therapy!! I have reached beyond my wildest dreams, Physical Therapy Success that I did not think was possible!! I owe all of my success to Dr. Rachel, and her staff at Therapeutic Associates, Ballard Physical Therapy!!

Went here for months and months without missing an appointment. Work as a firefighter, worked a 72 hour shift and missed one appointment and they charge you $100 out of pocket, doesn't matter how long you've been a good patient. Also, it was $25, but they sent out a very easy to miss policy revision through EMAIL changing it to $100 with no agreement from patients. And when you call the front desk concerned with the 400% increase, she lets out an audible, "oh my god" and treats you like garbage. Also, she didn't let my PT know that I called in to apologize to my PT as soon as I'd realized I'd missed the appointment. Rude. My Physical Therapist was super awesome though and if you go here I would recommend Leah Kern, however, I don't agree with management's business practices. Been getting PT just down the street at one of their competitors and am treated much better and they have better, AND less expensive cancellation policies (and parking too).

I got a referral for another doctor who checked me out and gave me a list of PT specialists. This list included Holly Tanner/ Flow Rehab. Big institutions have call centers answering their lines and smaller ones usually have answering machines. I called around, it was challenging getting an appointment. I left messages at several smaller offices (including Flow Rehab). The only one who responded was Holly. Not only that but she accidentally called me twice- at just the right moments. Long story short- on our 2nd call I spoke with Holly for 15 mins and in that time she had a good idea of what I was suffering with and was sure she knew what was wrong! I went in the same day and met with her and Rachel and things only got better. In short, I was provided a safe and comfortable atmosphere to speaks about and answer questions related to my pain. Rachel was able to reproduce my pain which gave me a pure "aha" moment---that is the pain I've been feeling all these years!!! I couldn't be happier to be able to connect with these two wonderful women. I'm still working through my pain and strengthening the areas but I feel like a weight has been lifted- I feel lighter and more confident. I am so grateful for their part in my journey---and I highly recommend them! Thank you for everything!

Adam is really nice, real cool and personable to talk to, knowledgeable about telling me my treatment plan etc. His assistant, Ashley, was real cool as well, she worked with me on my knee exercises etc. Will come by to check on me periodically as I'm doing my exercises and give you time to work on your exercises yourself. I missed a few appointments and she gave me a call to check on me to see how I'm doing. She's nice. Been here a handful of times and it's been pretty good overall, some of the front desk people are a little spacey with working the computer on scheduling, getting you checked-in and co-pay payment transactions. The staff is mostly ok, some may feel it's social hour and it's super social, fun time among the young staff with each other. I don't mind it but I can see some other patients getting annoyed. May be worth coming by a few times to see if you like it. This is located in the UW Sports Medicine Clinic in Ballard right at 15th & Leary, right at the bridge, it's near Trader Joes, across the street from L.A Fitness and all that. The building is part of the UW system so there are a lot of other types of doctors there, xray/labs, and so on. It's one stop shopping set up. I like the location as I live nearby and it's right on the bus line. Pray for my knee.

I'd been carrying heavy loads and traveling and swung one giant suitcase too many onto the conveyor belt which caused extreme pain and stiffness. I woke up one morning unable to move my arm above my head and thats when I went to Deep River Bodyworks. I actually had gone to see other people before, but they didn't really help solve the root of my pain. One session, advice on stretches and I was feeling brand new. The second time I went to see him, today actually, I was experiencing pain in my right hand, right foot (sole) and lower back. I discussed what problems I had, what my past few months were like and 1.5 hours later, the pain is gone. Oh yeah, sure, at first it was intense but over time, it started to feel like stretching and less sore. I walked out without any pain in my right foot, with my hands feeling loss and more importantly, with my lower back feeling actual relief. Twice he's listened and actually worked on the trigger points that cause pain, not necessarily the area where I have pain. He's more than a massage therapist!

Sarah works with each patient 1:1 and allows plenty of time during your appointment to get lots of good work in. I came to her after "doing something to my shoulder" about a year before-- which just never quite went away. Sara quickly identified what was causing the problem, performed some manipulation, did a movement assessment, taped me up, and sent me home with homework and an "rx" for some massage. She helped me understand the mechanics of why I was so sore and visualize how to move correctly. What she did NOT do was take away my barbell, which is a huge plus for me. After my first visit, massage, and a couple of weeks of "homework" I am now pain-free. I really love that you can go to see Sarah, and then come back every 3 weeks or so to check in & have your exercises adjusted vs needing to come in 3x a week.
