The diagnosis did not seem right to me and their treatment (stretching my hamstring) was not improving my problem for about 6 months. My co-workers (some M.D. rehabilitation specialists) encouraged me to see a PT. I saw Molly and in about 10 minutes she knew exactly what was wrong with me. I was really scared because at the time I worked in rehabilitation research and I knew just enough about my problem (SI joint) to be fearful about a potential chronic condition. Molly helped me to overcome that fear. Aside from a proper diagnosis and helpful treatment plan, Molly helped me to gain a useful perspective on my injury. She is maniacally optimistic and will somehow convince you that recovery from injury or maintaining the symptoms of a condition are opportunities to improve ourselves. When my husband had a health issue out of curiosity I asked Molly if she thought he could benefit from PT. She referred my husband to a specialist and it was profoundly helpful. Molly is a great PT, she is also really funny, and I can not recommend her enough.

If you have billing issues, be ready. On the first visit for my current PT need, I worked with the office staff to update my insurance changes in their system. In later visits, the admin staff initiated and verified the insurance information. When billed, the old, insurance company was billed. It was of course denied. I emailed Magnolia Physical Therapy, as directed on the website, explaining that my new carriers were to be billed and offered to address any questions. After a week and a half, with no acknowledgment of the error, I called [ over a weekend - my mistake - no chance for them to review] - and left a message explaining the issue and the insurance changes. As my email went unacknowledged for a period of time I was concerned that the issue was not being addressed and would drag on. I called the following Monday, left a message to discuss as I had received another miss-directed bill over the weekend. I received call from billing within the hour and was told issue was being addressed. There was no apology for the incorrect billing, and instead I was reprimanded for "dialing for dollars" referring to my two (2) calls and then schooled on the most efficient way to contact her (good to know). When I tried to address the issue and explain that I had not had communication from my first attempt, I was interrupted, and again schooled in the appropriate way to communicate. Which is "Leave a (only one) voice mail", and I would be gotten back to". I came to her after "doing something to my shoulder" about a year before-- which just never quite went away. Sara quickly identified what was causing the problem, performed some manipulation, did a movement assessment, taped me up, and sent me home with homework and an "rx" for some massage. She helped me understand the mechanics of why I was so sore and visualize how to move correctly. What she did NOT do was take away my barbell, which is a huge plus for me. After my first visit, massage, and a couple of weeks of "homework" I am now pain-free. I really love that you can go to see Sarah, and then come back every 3 weeks or so to check in & have your exercises adjusted vs needing to come in 3x a week.

When I came to SCFSM, I had just had several major surgeries, affecting major muscle groups. I had…read morea prescription for physical therapy in hand from my doctor, but was unsure where to go. I had been curious about the SCFSM for some time, having passed by when going to Portage Bay or Stone Gardens, so decided to call one day. After a few conversations, I was very happy when I was able to see them for a period of several months, all covered by my insurance (with a small adjustment to original prescription from PT to OT - occupational therapy). Kelly and her team, Barb in particular, are incredibly knowledgable, professional and compassionate. I wasn't thrilled to have gone through surgery, but I know I had a much better recovery with full range of motion after my experience with SCFSM. In fact, I learned so much that I am still practicing many of the exercises and techniques and am feeling flexible, pain free and unhindered (I don't even think about the affected areas anymore). The only drawback is their popularity and lack of immediate openings - it is sometimes hard to get in. If you are interested, I do recommend you persevere and get scheduled. It's worth it.

I do work in health care, so I had a general idea of what happened, but wanted to get in PT ASAP to get the rehab started. The team, with Jim and Lisa was great at showing me what was going on and then spent plenty of time going through each exercise I would need to do. The online portal is also great to review the program and log that I am keeping up with what I need to do! The text message reminders were annoying but they did keep me accountable to do my rehab and you can opt-out if you prefer! Fortunately, my back is much better, and I am glad to have them nearby as I am sure with working out and staying active, I might need them again sometime!

Went here for months and months without missing an appointment. Work as a firefighter, worked a 72 hour shift and missed one appointment and they charge you $100 out of pocket, doesn't matter how long you've been a good patient. Also, it was $25, but they sent out a very easy to miss policy revision through EMAIL changing it to $100 with no agreement from patients. And when you call the front desk concerned with the 400% increase, she lets out an audible, "oh my god" and treats you like garbage. Also, she didn't let my PT know that I called in to apologize to my PT as soon as I'd realized I'd missed the appointment. Rude. My Physical Therapist was super awesome though and if you go here I would recommend Leah Kern, however, I don't agree with management's business practices. Been getting PT just down the street at one of their competitors and am treated much better and they have better, AND less expensive cancellation policies (and parking too).

Adam is really nice, real cool and personable to talk to, knowledgeable about telling me my treatment plan etc. His assistant, Ashley, was real cool as well, she worked with me on my knee exercises etc. Will come by to check on me periodically as I'm doing my exercises and give you time to work on your exercises yourself. I missed a few appointments and she gave me a call to check on me to see how I'm doing. She's nice. Been here a handful of times and it's been pretty good overall, some of the front desk people are a little spacey with working the computer on scheduling, getting you checked-in and co-pay payment transactions. The staff is mostly ok, some may feel it's social hour and it's super social, fun time among the young staff with each other. I don't mind it but I can see some other patients getting annoyed. May be worth coming by a few times to see if you like it. This is located in the UW Sports Medicine Clinic in Ballard right at 15th & Leary, right at the bridge, it's near Trader Joes, across the street from L.A Fitness and all that. The building is part of the UW system so there are a lot of other types of doctors there, xray/labs, and so on. It's one stop shopping set up. I like the location as I live nearby and it's right on the bus line. Pray for my knee.

With Vickie now gone I've found better care elsewhere. I found my treatment not flexible enough for root cause analysis. 15 minutes with Brian 45 minutes of excercises. Not getting better?
