Delicious food and such great old classic diner vibes. The service was also very homey. I can't wait to go back again

Fried chicken special with mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and a cornbread roll

Went for lunch on Tuesday. I hadn't been there in years since my husband passed away. We used to go often. The food was excellent. The service was great. Alicia was a great server waitress. The ambience was great. It was pretty crowded already at 11:45 ! keep up the good work the fried chicken was great the mashed potatoes and the mac & cheese yummy.

Corn beef hash with diced potatoes & two eggs cooked to order.

The service was really good. My server was pleasant & attentive. The Diner was filled with what appeared to be locals. As for the food....my Corn Beef Hash was described as "chunky corn beef bits combined w/crisp potatoes". It was not. As you can see it appears to be out of a can; not chunky beef and not crisp potatoes. As you can see by my pix it looks like the slab of corn beef hash mixture was thrown on the griddle and forgotten & burnt flipped over for a second then served. It was not mixed up & heated through. I was already on a time schedule & hungry so had to eat and move on.The buttermilk biscuit was suppose to be home made, but I have my doubts. It was not HOT and not very buttermilked. Finally, the cup of fruit was room temperature, not cool/cold and seemed retail. The hosted talked to the owner by phone & there was a lengthy discussion, so much so I offered to pay. You would think it would be an easy decision as to what to do. The hostess relayed that the owner/Mgr would make an effort to improve. In my mind it would be serving the item as describes or changing the item description. Not sure about future visits.

Chicken fried steak and eggs. These two plates are just one order!

Huge portions for a really good price. It was pretty packed when we went at 1230 on a Sunday. Had to wait about 15 min for a table, which isn't bad. Service was quick and good. The food is standard diner food. Nothing amazing but satisfying for when you're craving homey food! I got the chicken fried steak and eggs, which was way more than I could eat and only $13.45.

Love the atmosphere of the place. Its sort of outdated but its a classic place. Food is just classic breakfast food and very good. Service was great and the waitress who served me was so sweet. 10/10 would go again.

Great place for fresh good food . The service is great and quick ambiance chill calm . The place is an old diner from the looks but the food is great no issues with any food there's just not a wow factor for it to be 5 stars . This is a place good for traditional breakfast worth trying out . I will go back and try something else vs breakfast and will update when I do . All the food I seen people ordering looked great and great portions of food .

Great neighborhood diner. It's always packed here and the service is friendly and attentive. Food is decent. The shakes are really good. The chicken friend steak is solid. Blueberry pancakes are delicious too.

Chicken fried steak with eggs and hashed browns, side biscuit with extra gravy and side grits. Delicious!

It feels like you're stepping back in time when you walk in. Old fashioned diner with counter dining available, milkshake mixers, and griddle off the serving area. Wait staff and busser were prompt and friendly and service was top notch. Coffee was good and hot and kept coming. The food was amazing; a good hearty southern breakfast of chicken fried steak and eggs, side biscuit and grits. Everything was good and plentiful (I did order extra gravy) and I finished all the plates. Price was under $20 for a substantial amount of food; I left a large tip. If I'm in Houston again I will return for breakfast.

My husband and I have been eating at Frank's for over 35 years in one location or another. And,…read morethat alone should serve as a testament to how much we love these diner style restaurants! The food is always good, plentiful and efficiently served. The hash-browns and grits are always fresh and cooked perfectly. The homemade rolls are fluffy and delicious and the pancakes are generously sized and thick. And, on the very rare occasion that there has been a mix up on an order, things were rectified quickly and with no hassles. So you should understand that we were devastated by the news that the Frank's location closest to our house was totally destroyed by fire recently. That would be the 1915 Mangum Rd. location. It is my understanding from employees at neighboring businesses that they plan to reopen, at least temporarily, in a vacant building on a lot that is adjacent to the burned building. I have not checked that for any factual accuracy, so take it with a grain of salt, as it were. Meanwhile, we will drive the extra miles to one of the other locations.

Options are limited for breakfast near my work, so I opted for Frank's…read more I have ordered from them in the past and it has been ok. I tried the fish this time and will say the coating was ok, however, it slipped off. I asked for fried hard. I felt the food today was bland and lacked any flavor. I ended up not finishing and just disposed of it. I ordered via door dash so I am unsure of the ambiance.

He asked our food order first. We had to ask him if we could get drinks first. 3) When we did order we watched our drinks sit at the end of the bar for 10 min until I had to go retrieve them myself. 4) The food was INCREDIBLY mid for it being that expensive. Undercooked potatoes, overcooked chicken, not a single person at the table of 4 adults had a good thing to say about their meal 5) It took 2 FREAKING HOURS with no one there. When I say no one I mean completely empty 6) Trying to check out and leave. Our server who was looking for an upsell told us he saw a cookie in the back that was ready to go. Thanks for telling our 3 small children that at 9:30. Reluctantly after telling him no several times it was awkward enough to cave. Cookie took about 20 minutes to come out. We had been there for over 2 hours at that point and we had to just get up and leave. If you go to this restaurant after reading this, you deserve the horrible experience you will certainly have.

They had live music on, and from the looks of it if you want to be a part of the show you can as they also have karaoke it looks like. The gentleman that greeted us was so nice and made us feel so welcomed! It wasn't one of those "oh I have to be nice to these guests because I'm getting paid" type people, you could really tell his niceness was genuine. I felt like I was at a fine dining restaurant. Our server was also very nice, and super helpful as I asked for a wine suggestion and she hit the nail with her suggestion. She brought a small sample for me to try before serving it. The food itself was delicious! We got the onion rings appetizer, and you could tell they were made to order. They were super fresh and also crispy. The chicken parmigiana was good, and they were not stingy with their portions at all. The picture I took doesn't do the dish justice. I will definitely go back to this place, as their food, service and overall experience is a great one when you dine in.
