Today I went to Avalon Café and Boba because they had a sign out front that said tacos. I love tacos and I'm always trying to support local businesses in Carson. Customer service was excellent, and the price was good as well. It was three tacos with two types of salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole, and grilled jalapeños. You can have a clean location, great customer service, good prices, but at the end of the day, it's the taste of the food that matters. This restaurant fell short in every way. The tortillas taste like they were warmed up in a microwave. The Carne Asada, pork and chicken all have no flavor . They were not seasoned well at all. The guacamole was a little brown like it had been sitting for a while. The pico de gallo is not good as well, not seasoned no spiciness at all. unfortunately, this is definitely not a place you want to visit for tacos. I should've known better based on the name of the restaurant but again just trying to support local businesses as they diversify to try to stay open. Maybe their coffee is better. This was a definite miss!!!

Stopped by while we were in the area after hearing about from a friend, and it's definitely a solid spot to grab a quick boba, smoothie, coffee. What was pleasantly surprising was the food though. It was really good. Drinks wise, I got the Mudslide shake, which is peanut butter based, really good and filling. Also tried the watermelon chamoy smoothie, which I really liked too. Foodwise, we tried: the breakfast burrito, chicken pesto sandwich, the pastrami melt, and the avanchelero tacos. The breakfast burrito was solid and probably my favorite but the chicken pesto sandwich was really good too. Overall, we really enjoyed everything. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area, probably on an Ikea run.

Got the rose matcha and never seen any other cafe do that and it was delicious!! Definitely recommend a try if you're a matcha lover. The staff was also very sweet and nice as well.

I frequent this place often since I work in the area. Coffee is always on point! I've had the Thai tea as well but I am a coffee snob at heart lol. Offering Vietnamese coffee is a plus!! Boba is fresh. I've only had breakfast once here- feta breakfast croissant. It was yummy and huge. Definitely shareable! I appreciate the owner's interactions with his customers. Coming from behind the counter to hand us our orders is such a nice touch and I can tell he is grateful to be in business. I wish nothing but best for this gem! I will be back :)

Scrambled Feta Breakfast Croissant is my favorite! The beef tacos were good and nicely presented. They were able to accommodate my pregnancy needs of having well-done eggs and beef and non caffeinated drinks, taro milk tea. Yum! After the Yelp event I also purchased additional items. The review below is based on purchases made and not the Yelp event. I arrived this Sunday around 10 and the parking was easy. I am not sure how parking would be during the weekdays. The staff was very friendly and professional. The staff had a good vibe with the customers and they helped us use the photo booth. The photo booth was cool. The wall décor gave this place a nice vibe. There was not a ton of seating but enough and they also had some outdoor seating. I enjoyed the "Netflix and Crunch" cookie which was sweet, thick, and had a density of flavors. It reminded me of Recess and Chocolate and Cookie, so, it did the job. I enjoyed the Ham and Swiss Croissant because the ham was cooked and the bread was soft inside and lightly toasty on the outside; I appreciate that a lot. After my next hike or jog on the West side, I will stop by here and get something to bring home. Came here after watching a play over at CSUDH! The staff were really kind. It's quite small, but they have quite a bit of indoor and outdoor seating. Looks like a pretty chill place to hang out for a bit! The staff were great and had our drinks prepared very quickly. I got the Ube matcha and the flavors blended really well I enjoyed it a lot! Theres also a little photo booth/machine inside that I did with my sister and they came out super cute!

What's funny is this place is near Dominguez and I just never saw it until today. Was looking for some drinks and saw this place and I was like oh crap, that's like a 1 minute drive away. So I went and I loved it! Place is pretty hidden I would say since it's near a busy intersection but it's easy to get in. The inside and outside look great. My drink was bomb too. The worker said he would have my drink ready in less than two minutes and when he gave to me, I'm pretty sure it was less than one minute. They quick with it. Man was funny and a kind person. I ordered a build-your-own with turkey bacon, turkey slices, Swiss cheese, egg, and a touch of spicy mayo. it was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. Had their Banh Mi and it was very good but I've had better for sure, everything was flavorful for the price and the spicy sauce they had on the side made it a bit better. We had the Bun Me and the Avalon Monster breakfast sandwich. The bun me had potential to be good but it came out cold. I'm not sure if that's what it's supposed to be but it was in fact a bit cold. Ordered a Thai tea with boba, it was mostly milk and I couldn't even taste the tea. On top of that they added so much ice I couldn't get to the boba Employees were friendly tho but by the time I tasted the drink I was already too far away to return it. read more

I've been to my fair share of boba/cafe joints and this was by far one to remember. I ordered the pastrami melt and a thai tea. The pastrami melt was super tender and that flavor was smackin! The thai tea was really refreshing and that boba hits different! The ambiance was really nice and I personally thought it was super dope how every employee and even the owner chopped it up with me and made it such a pleasant experience overall. I highly recommend for those wanting a refreshing drink or a nice bite, the prices are really fair and affordable. Will definitely be back! read more

I am hoping that this was a one-time mistake on the part of the person who made them. I will go back next Saturday as usual and buy a couple just to make sure. If they continue to be skimpy, I will no longer buy them.
