Due to my poor time management I ended up at the airport without having eaten all day and I wouldn't be home till 4... so I had no other option than to eat at the 1 restaurant in the airport. I had already checked online and they had nothing gluten free beside a couple salads. Well... I was wrong!!! Friends, add this to your menu! I was about to order a pile of chicken with a salad when the waiter informed me they have gluten free buns! Hooray! So I got the bbq chicken sandwich on a gf bun and it was quite good. Loved the sweet bbq sauce with the creamy garlic aioli and the chicken was cooked nicely as well. All the waitstaff were nice too. My kids both got the chicken tenders and enjoyed them as well. Oh my gosh! What a pleasant surprise. I was super hungry and didn't find anything quick and easy to grab on my way to the airport. The only choice left was Avalon Aeropub. You won't see it at the airport unless you go to the second level in the departure area. This place is good enough to go early and have a nice simple meal before your flight. I was in a hurry so I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich to go. It was $18 plus a $1.00 to-go fee which I hadn't seen before. Anyway, for an airport, that wasn't too bad at all, plus there's no tax so it's even better! I wasn't expecting much but holy smokes, this might have been one of the best chicken pesto sandwiches I've ever had! No kidding! It was a really thick piece of chicken breast and it was juicy! So freakin' good! I had a salad with it. The greens were fresh and it was a healthy salad...not the iceberg lettuce kind. They just dumped the salad in with the chicken sandwich in the to-go box. It was kinda odd but it also saves on wasting resources and having something extra to throw away. Actually, I'm glad they did it that way. Sorry, I don't have a picture to show you of this awesome sandwich. I only had a few minutes to wolf it down and my Yelp photo skills eluded me. I was here today around noon 1/13/2026, sitting at the end booth. I've never felt so insulted in my life here ! One of the servers, a lady, with braids was so rude to me . I ordered a glass of wine . The waitress asked me for my ID , I gave it to her . Then she looked at me and repeatedly asked me if I was 21 after looking at it. My husband and I go there all the time being frequent flyers and it is so disappointing how rude someone can be. Cannot even have lunch and a glass of wine without getting disrespected . Then she dropped our drinks off after the incident and immediately walked away without looking at me when I was trying to pay my tab! I will give a shout out to the cooks for making my spinach salad very delicious! Service was just horrible from that specific waitress . My family and I fly in and out of the Redmond airport a lot since we have family in the area. We always overestimate how much time it will take us to get through security - so we always have some extra time to spare before boarding. Thus, we always go to Avalon pub and have some food and drinks before we fly out. We have never had a bad time at this establishment. From the food - to the quick service - to the friendliness of everyone working there - everything is really top notch. There is plenty of seating inside of the restaurant and if it is full (which is common as it is the only sit down food service in the airport) there is seating right outside of the restaurant with some pretty amazing views of Central Oregon and the actual airport runway (hint: if you have kids - this view is very entertaining for them). This restaurant is on the second floor and can be accessed via stairs or an elevator making it accessible for all. read more

Much better experience this visit. Odd thing was that it was because they were so busy they were on top of walk-in to go traffic like me as a part of the machinery of also working a full bar and full tables. I decided to try something different and went for the fish and chips. Very big pieces crisp with tasty beer batter. The lemon wedge they provided was the perfect complement. It's a shame I was so full I couldn't eat their amazing fries while they were crisp and hot. They're only good fresh from the fryer and I was sad I was too far from my air fryer to take them with. read more

I've traveled a lot for work and pleasure. Eaten in many airport restaurants. Avalon is in the top. Is the food going to blow your mind? No. The service is solid and consistent. Being the only choice in RDM they really don't have to be this good but they choose to do their best and for that they deserve our respect. There a brew pubs in town that aren't as good as this and that says a lot. read more

Being the only restaurant in this airport, I usually stop here before flying out as long as they're open. I have always enjoyed their Bloody Mary's and their breakfast sandwiches, but most recently have become a fan of their breakfast wrap. You can order up at the counter if you already know what you want, or if you prefer you can find a seat first and look over the menu and they'll come take your order. Personally I like to come in and find a seat right away that has plug ins available so I can charge my phone, and pretty much just drink here until it's boarding time. Service has always been awesome and friendly, and eating and hanging out here has always been pleasant. I still miss where the bar used to be placed before the remodel, but I was mistaken with my last review when I said there was now NO bar seating at all. I don't know how exactly I missed it (literally, it's RIGHT there), but I did, and to correct my mistake: yes, there is a real bar to sit at. Sadly, they aren't open early and this is my one and only complaint. They open at 10am, but RDM has flights going out as early as 7am. If you have an early flight and haven't eaten before arriving to the airport, and aren't a fan of the food that is offered in the smaller little stores, you're totally out of luck. I really wish RDM and Avalon would look into changing this. read more

Yes, it's the only option for food and drinks in this adorable little airport but as someone who travels a lot, this was a perfect little pub / restaurant experience while traveling. Service was great! Pretty sure I saw the owner serving and busing tables! Gave me that small town feel rather than what you expect at an airport where everyone is sick of everyone who comes in. Food and drinks were super solid! I was hungry so I got tomato soup, brats AND a chicken quesadilla! Nothing gourmet but great pub food that didn't disappoint. I read some reviews prior and it was kinda silly... people upset about situations that can happen at any restaurant let alone the only one at a small airport. I can honestly say this was one of my best experiences at an airport bar. Good people here running the show ... doesn't feel like you're at an airport (regardless of how small it is). They could totally phone it in because you can't go somewhere else... they didn't do that. read more

I came and gave Avalon a second chance and my experience was much better and our waitress was very nice and very helpful I had both my boys with me and she helped me get to go containers ready and to go cups for there drinks in the midst of crazy boy chaos! PHENOMENAL!!!!! Ate here on my way out, and the food and service was awesome. Planned on eating here on the way back but I had to grab a checked bag. I had a bit of time that I had to wait so I didn't eat at my previous airport, and didn't think about it being beyond TSA. I called them, and Gabby "????"* came down to the baggage claim and took my order, and brought it down when done. I was starving. She was amazing and the food was so good, still hot, and made my day. My flight got delayed and I needed a more substantial snack to tide me over. I wasn't expecting much from the only restaurant in a tiny regional airport and was pleasantly surprised! I got a hummus plate and the portion of hummus was much bigger than I expected, and tasted very good. All the veggies were fresh and in good shape, the pita was soft and nicely toasted. I felt it was reasonably priced, and the staff were all super attentive. 10/10 read more
