The papas bravas were equally delicious. The asparagus, however, gave us a good laugh--it must have been on a diet because there was absolutely nothing "jumbo" about it! We also ordered the Barolo-braised short rib, which was incredibly tender, rich, and packed with flavor. It practically melted in your mouth. Dessert was the Tiramisu Cake, and it was outstanding. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, it was the ideal ending to a great meal. Between the fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere, and seemingly endless wine selection, Cru is a place we'll gladly return to. Just don't judge the asparagus by its menu description!

The layout was not at all cozy, the chairs were hard and uncomfortable, the bathrooms were not tidy. We ordered a flight of white and a flight of red white. All were OK, nothing memorable. The food was a huge letdown. We ordered the fritto misto, everything save the 3 large shrimp was way, WAY overcooked. Whoever fried the food had to have seen it was over because all the breading had fallen off. They obviously didn't care as they tossed it in the bowl anyway. The charcuterie board was Food Lion quality, the cheese in particular (goat and Manchego) were bland and devoid of character. Our server was obviously in the wrong line of work. She never checked how our food was but instead spent her time chatting with another young (very disheveled) lady. When we asked the country of origin of the ONE prosecco that CRU offers, our server replied, "Dunno, it's European."

Truffle fries with truffle aioli, parmesan, oregano. Marinated olives layered with citrus and herbs. Nothing too over the top, but generous and satisfying. The kinds of plates you keep reaching for without realizing it. For dinner, we had the the NY Strip (North Carolina pasture-raised Angus with Diane sauce and a French onion potato gratin). And the roasted whole fish (with hazelnut gremolata, citrus beurre blanc, and confit sunchoke). Both cooked to perfection, nothing missing, and absolutely delicious. What stuck with us the most htough, the service. Ben and Oscar were sharp, attentive, and present without being overbearing. They made the evening feel even more incredible. My fries were served hot but needed some salt. I asked for my burger to be cooked well done but I was brought a burnt burger. I took one bite but it was too overcooked. I then requested that my server have my burger be cooked medium well so I didn't get another burnt burger. When my burger was brought back out, our server had me cut into my burger to make sure it was to my liking. The preparation was better but it was bland and tasted like there wasn't any seasoning on it. After this our server wasn't as attentive anymore. For dessert we got the donuts. Owners either have to bring water to refill the bowls or leave the gate. During the summer, there are sprinklers at the far end of the park. Not all dogs like these, but you can use them to refill water bowls. The other dog parks in Cary (like Jack Smith) have auto-refill bowls. Other than the water situation we really like this park. It is mainly turf with sidewalks, tunnels, and sitting areas. It is convenient having bathrooms, a bar, and a beautiful park nearby. Plus it is in downtown Cary so it is surrounded by numerous businesses, restaurants, and bars. Parking can be tricky. I usually opt for free street parking, however, there are nearby free lots as well including a parking garage by the library. Similar to the other dog parks in Cary, a dog park pass is needed. Currently they use a QR code that can be used at each of the dog parks.
