Only downside to Pepboys is they didn't have enough seating for people waiting on their cars and they didn't have wipes so I could wipe down my steering wheel when it was returned (Midas did this for me so maybe I was just lucky). I've always received good service from the staff (and I might add that they were always well staffed) there and the check out girls have always been friendly. In fact, I bought all my auto supplies in Spring 2008 for last summer at this Murray's. Flash forward to June 2009: It's oil-changing time! Time to go to Murray's! I enter anticipating the check-out girls and service desk dude. I freeze in my tracks. Where are the check-out registers? Where's the service desk? The counter in the back has been shifted to the side of the store where the entrance is, and there are just 2 guys working the whole store. They get parts from the back for people who need help and explanations how to fix their own cars, answer the phones, AND they and they have to ring up all the customers! At 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, you'd think they'd be better staffed than that. Where were the check-out registers? Where were the check-out girls? There were not even any girls to check out! (Yeah, I go to the auto store on Saturday afternoon to meet chicks...heh). I waited in line all too long to buy 5 quarts of Penzoil and a FRAM filter. Also, I noticed the store was not nearly as clean it used to be. What happened? Turns out O'Reilly Auto bought Murray's parent company, CSK. I get it. LET'S CUT COSTS. I like coming here because the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Johnny the store manager is awesome. He is always attentive to customers and his staff. Whenever, someone walk inside this location the staff always greets you with a smile. If they don't carry certain parts that you need at their location. Don't worry the staff is quick to look up another location to help get you the parts that you need. Better yet.. They will have the parts shipped to their location for you to pick up in a day or two. And then Xavier's manager helped me understand more about my gear shifter. Thank you service department for having wonderful hard working and knowledgeable and kind staff. Then I went to the express oil change service station and Adrian assisted me and took great care of my car for the oil change and topped off everything I needed (coolant and windshield wiper fluid is what they top off) and added air to my tires after a long cold winter. Oil change is $135. Free popcorn and hot beverages and water while you wait along w vending machines. And Miss Lovely Erica at the sales department was super nice too! She looks out for customers and has their best interest in mind still after 8 years. She made fresh popcorn for customers to enjoy while waiting for the oil change. Thank you Hawk! The staff make the place and thank you for hiring such dedicated staff. And they play 80s music, the gold standard across the world :) Only thing I would ask ... please update the sofa and chairs at the express oil change service area. I understand it's happening very soon but the sofas are lumpy and cloth which is not easy to clean as it absorbs dust and odors... vinyl cushioned single seaters and love seats would be amazing ... just my personal preference like the ones at airports bc they are durable and easy to clean and don't lose their bounce. Then the high round tables and chairs are fine as they can be cleaned easily but the height to chair ratio is too short for petite people like me and once I sat on the chair I feel like my chin is almost hitting the table so please have taller chairs so people like me can enjoy the table. I was disappointed with the service I received at the Broadview Pep Boys location. I was later informed that the inner and outer tie rod ends needed replacement, which I approved. The total cost was over $500. After picking up the vehicle, the issue remained unchanged. I also discovered that the front right tire had been inflated to 47 PSI. Standard PSI is 35 PSI. I returned the next day, and after another alignment inspection, I was told that worn out front tires was most likely causing the issue. I paid an additional $40 at another shop to rotate the tires, but the vehicle still pulled to the right. When I returned again, I was told they could only refund the alignment charge of $138. In the end, I still have the original issue despite spending several hundred dollars. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the overall service experience.
