unfortunately, they sold a defective alternator. then refused to take it back, saying it was ok. the diodes were bad and kept setting off the battery light. they suggested that the mechanic I used was probably trying to scam me. Let me start by saying my family has always purchased starters and alternators from Canos. On Thursday my car broke down due to a faulty alternator. I called around asking for quotes and Canos had the best price for a lifetime warranty. Today I called them after scheduling to have my car towed to my mechanic to ensure that they have the alternator in stock. They did, so why the 1 star you ask ? Well the reason is simple, they raised the price almost double to what I was quoted originally. When I ask why they say because the price I told them I was quoted was for the 1 year warranty alternator and not the lifetime warranty. When I originally called I asked specifically for the price on the lifetime warranty and even had my father call them to double check. As a "reputable" company shouldn't they honor their mistake ? As a business owner myself I would definitely honor a price if one of my employees misquoted you. But Canos failed to do so. Definitely disappointed in the way everything was handled. Will I ever do business with them again ? The answer is simple of course I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS OR CONSIDER THEM AGAIN. read more

I was shopping around for a good deal on an alternator for a Dodge Caravan. I checked many places like, Auto Zone, Maverick, Advanced auto and prices was running from $160-$175 and they couldn't tell me the difference between a 136 amp and a 160 amp A friend told me of this place Cano Auto on Pulaski Rd and that they have great prices. I called to check it out. The guy that answered the phone was professional and nice and he said, his name was David. He let me explain my situation first, he looked in the computer and said, there are 2 options you can go for Lifetime Warranty or 1 year warranty. I told him for the 1 year warranty, because I'm a single mom with 3 kids and a mom and I'm on a tight budget. The price for an alternator with 1 year warranty with taxes came out to $133.and some change. Which its a great price. Now to find who is going to put it for me. I asked David if he knew the difference between a 136 amp and a 160 amp, he said yes. He told me that a 136 amp is for the basic electronic in a car or minivan, the 160 amp is for those who are planning to add a T.V or a music system. I asked him does a face off count, wait is it still called that cause I'm older. He said yes giggling. He said, its up to me which one, but he only had a 160 amp, but he can order a 136 amp if I needed it. So, a 160 amp for $133 and some change great price. I was a bit confused by the voucher's fine print. It stated that it was good for services but not retail products so I called & spoke with Sylvester who cleared it all up for me.
