My husband and I had an unbelievably terrible experience at O'Reillys in Kirkland, and have been coming to AutoZone ever cents and the difference is insane. We absolutely love the staff here. We have a great experience every time. We appreciate that we can trust them and don't try to get scammed like at O'Reillys (they tested our battery told us it needed to be replaced. We paid $400 for a new battery and then when we switched them out we tested the old one again and found out it was still 70% life in it. (Then they lied about it) and we had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund). As a woman, I appreciate being able to come to the auto store and feel comfortable. Today Vishal helped me out, and I felt SO respected and helped. He was so professional and kind. Very impressed with him and this stores hiring manager. Do not come here unless you want to support a bunch of scam artist. I've been calling around to try to find some snow chains and was told one price on the phone so I immediately came in to purchase them. However, when I got there, I was told that the price I was told was wrong and that they would be $100 more. Before I could even talk to someone who can only assume as one of the managers was incredibly combative and rude and spoke over me the entire time. I tried to explain myself multiple times and he would not even let me finish talking. I finally had a demand for the employee who helped me on the phone to come over. He then all of a sudden played completely dumb and tried to say that he couldn't really understand me on the phone so he just basically made something up. I'm not sure what kind of shady business practices they have there but the fact that they wouldn't even let me speak is very telling . I will absolutely not support this business and caution you against it as well.. I will say the men in there that seem to be treated with a lot of respect, so maybe it's the fact that I was a single woman in their alone maybe it's just discriminatory business practices against women. read more

DONT GO HERE, GO ANYWHERE ELSE. STAFF IS SUPER UNHELPFUL. It was our first time putting tire chains/cables on our car so we needed a bit more guidance (we did Google and watch YouTube videos before this but were hoping for the staff to be helpful). When we came into the store and asked for chains for our tire size, the person at the counter gave us chains that didn't have tighteners when we specifically noted we wanted one with tighteners. Obviously, we had to come back as we couldn't tighten the chains. When we came back he realized his mistake, apologized (the only thing he did right), and proceeded to sell us another pair of tire chains that he said were allegedly better. These did not fit our tires. When we told him this, he refused to believe us, refused to take a look, and started making jokes about our inability to put on tire chains (super unprofessional). So we gave up on Autozone and went to O'Reilley. One try, and they sold us the correct sized chains that we were able to install in a few minutes. What a difference. Never going back to this Autozone again. read more

Auto Zone Alternators are JUNK! I purchased a NEW, not refurbished alternator for my Acura from Autozone back in April of 2022. Six months later on October 21, 2022, it started acting up. The alternator I replaced back in April appeared to be the same brand. It failed just after year after I bought this car which was only driven less than 4k miles. Duralast alternators are garbage! Auto Zone's return policy is basically non-existent. They will trade you for replacement piece of junk, but then you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of paying for labor to replace this part every 6 months to a year. It's a money pit and a trap. Years ago, I replaced my alternator using the same brand for my Toyota. Afterwards, I would receive a high pitch feedback through my car speakers. It was very annoying. I should have learned my lesson then. I do not recommend any alternator from Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc. Save yourself the headaches and time wasted by staying away from these places! Have your stock alternator rebuilt or buy genuine parts. Believe me and you will thank me for it. read more

When requesting a battery test, the person at the counter hooked up the tester to the negative terminal, then took one look at the positive terminal and said he can't connect the tester because the terminal is too small. So I headed to O'reilly's and they had no issue at all running the test with the same battery tester. Autozone barely tried to help. I purchased headlight lamps thinking I would attempt to replace myself. I already knew it was difficult to get the retention pin back in place so I was not looking forward to it. Thinking if I was not successful I would then take it to the dealer who quoted $75.00 in labor. At check out I mentioned how difficult it was, the associate immediately offered to do it for me. I was so happy. He was able to complete in about five minutes giving me time to take the dog for a sunset walk, now that I had working headlights I did not have to worry about getting home before dark. I've gotten recommendations for products at O'Reilly from their employees that were wastes of money. I like to perform my own repairs on my car so I'll do all my research beforehand via internet, YouTube, etc. However, like they say about swimming, you can only learn so much by reading and watching it; it's the experience that will teach you how to swim. It's a great feeling to have knowing that the knowledgeable staff here will have your back. Also, they always have the parts or products I need and will let you borrow their tools. Before you buy, ask them to see if you can borrow their tools first, they let me borrow the tool I needed to replace my serpentine belt. read more

Hans, the new manager, was so awesome and helpful!!! I could not thank him enough! As winter was setting in, my car battery was having more and more trouble getting my car started. It was at the point where it was hit or miss whether it would start without being jumped. Anyways, it was 3:30 on a Thursday evening when i was able to take my car to get a new battery, and there were only 2-3 employees at the autozone (staffing is so tricky right now for a lot of places) and I went in and initially asked another employee for help with the purchasing and changing of my car battery. This employee told me that "it wasn't really a good time" and to come back in the morning. I explained my situation and offered to wait as long as they need to be free if someone could please just replace my battery. The employee refused. I was stranded there at the Autozone because my car would not start... I went in a second time a few minutes later and was helped by Hans. He was so kind and understanding. He replaced my car battery and was so nice during the process. I know that it wasn't ideal timing with the few employees there but this guy really stepped up and saved me!!! Went there to buy a new alternator but the guy tells me that they only have the remanufactured alternator and it's as good as new because all the internal parts are new other than the core. A week later it failed so I returned it and bought a new one from their website. The older guy working there has a terrible attitude as if he doesn't even want to be there. Maybe new ownership. Woke up with a dead battery put it on my home charger for a few hours. Went to Auto Zone and they did a "load test" and the 38 month old '42 month battery' was indeed "dead". Woman manager, sorry can't remember her name, installed a new battery and I was "good to go" all in about 20 minutes. Costco, which probably has a better price, doesn't test your existing battery and I wasn't 100% it was a goner. The dealer was a non starter due to price and lack of convenience. read more

My local O'Reilley's didn't have a front wiper, neither refill nor blade, for my Toyota Previa, which has had Anco aftermarket blades since I bought it 4 years ago. So I went online. I was glad to find that Autozone had Anco refills for front Previa wiper blades. The website said that the nearest Autozone didn't have them in stock but that they were in stock about 6 miles away in Kirkland at Totem Lake. Cool, I thought. I drove over there. Only to find that they (a) did not stock any Anco refills nor blades at all, and (b) they did not stock front wiper blades nor refills, of ANY brand, for Previas. The employee was very helpful and really seemed to know his stuff. He looked for it in their computer system but came up empty, and said he didn't know why the website would say they had it. Get it in gear, Autozone. The program used by the employee to check stock knew that you didn't have it; your website should have known too. But thanks for having an excellent employee. read more

I decided to downgrade my rating, because the windshield wipers that they recommended & sold to me are the worst wiper blades I have EVER seen! I'm sorry, I don't remember the brand name, but they're shorter than most. I'm going to have to buy a different pair ASAP! I don't know why the guy at AutoZone thought those wipers were so great! The battery in my car that my nurse drives me to doc appts in had a dead battery one day. I called this store and discussed the need to return the battery under warranty and explained that I was from out of state and bought it from a different authorized dealer. The warranty for the battery explicitly states what to do in these circumstances. The employee agreed to special order the battery in to arrive in a couple days. Then he called me the day it came in. I arranged to have the old battery removed from the car (I can't do it, see picture) and arranged for a truck to take me to the store for the exchange. When I got in the store I got really bad service. There was a chorus of excuses, and they even laughed at me in the process of trying to get this exchanged. What kind of store has employees that laugh at customers? But you know what you never expect to hear from a store employee? "I don't know how to do that and you'll have to come back." The manager was on the phone and they still couldn't manage it. This store is no place to buy a battery, but I've never had problems like this at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Absolutely Terrible. Needed chains for my car and the guy there recommended I get 2 sets, 1 for each tire. I bought them and then went over the pass in the snow, pulled over to put my chains on, and the chains did not fit the rear tires. I did not end up using any of the chains. I brought them in to return and the store said because tried to fit them on my tires they could not be returned. The original employee who sold me this set recommended this pair and did not tell me I would not be able to return them and now I am out the money. I will never shop here again and will just shop through Amazon because they actually care about their customers. read more

Yikes. The employees here (save for one tall young man who seemed to be an assistant manager or should be) are downright rude. I came in for the free check engine light diagnostic they heavily advertise, was ignored for the first five minutes in the store and then dismissed when I was finally acknowledged and asked about the check engine light test ("some guy took the scanner. He's outside, maybe.") Alrightyyyyyyy. We waited uncomfortably for another 10 minutes (we were the only people in the store but no one said a word to us) until the one stand up employee admitted that the scanner had been gone for at least an hour, and he said he'd call me when it was back. We thanked him profusely and headed home. About an hour later, we got the call that the scanner was back and returned to Autozone. We told the same employee who had been so rude to us the first time (unfortunately he was the only one around) that we'd received a call and had come back for the scan. In the next ten minutes we spent with this man, he alternated between ignoring things I was saying and cutting me off (and I'm not exactly a chatterbox. He said in a tone that implied we were wasting his time that my "service engine soon" light on my 2006 Nissan Altima just meant it needed an oil change. I explained that the my model doesn't have a "check engine light" but that the "service engine" serves the same function, and that I'd actually recently had my oil changed so I was worried it was an emissions problem. He cut me off with, "IT WAS AN EXAMPLE." The code saying we had an emissions problem came up a few seconds later.) I think it's a great business move that Autozone does these free checks, and I would have bought whatever we needed from them if the experience had gone differently. As it is, I'll go out of my way to avoid this particular store and encourage you to do the same. read more

He did not care that I was there carrying my 4 months old baby. Im a mechanic, so I know apparently way more than these guys ever do. The final straw was getting help with my check engine light, which the guy refused to clear after the problem was found.
