When my dash engine light came on, it was on Friday afternoon on my way home from work. It was too late to schedule anything, so on my son's recommendation, I went to Auto Zone for a FREE engine diagnostics test. I just assumed that walking in and making my request for a free engine diagnostics test without any intention of buying anything would be met with a bit of annoyance. My experience was quite the opposite. Justin was extra helpful and even looked up the code for me. I would have assumed it wasn't that major of an issue, but he assured me that I should get it to the repair shop as soon as possible. I followed his good advice, and he was right. When I paid he asked for my phone number for an account. A few days later I received unwarranted and harassing text messages from the buddy. It was a Sunday and we were on a road trip to visit our son in Portland and our battery died when we stopped for coffee. We got a jump to continue on our journey and since we were going through Eugene, we decided to call around to find out where we could get our battery replaced. Auto zone was the only auto parts store that said they would lend us tools to replace the battery. We drove straight to the location on 11th and everyone there was super helpful and friendly. I came in here earlier in the week with my buddy Matt. I needed a new starter for my car. I honestly didn't even know this store existed until this happened. I typically go to the one in Springfield, as I've never had a bad experience there. They are absolutely wonderful. However, they didn't have the part I needed in stock. They found it at two Eugene locations. This being one of them. The reason I chose this one was because they are open later than any of the others, and this happened at like 8:30 at night. I walked in here, told them I had an order on hold, and they found it. My name is pretty memorable. Lol. Mostly because it's ridiculously long and pretty unique. So they found it, produced the part I needed, and I paid them. Not a terribly complicated experience. I was set to get in and get out, so I could go over to Wendy's for a frosty before they closed. Figured we were right there, we might as well stop. Lol. The customer service was good. I honestly don't remember the guy's name who helped me. But he answered all of my questions, found my order easily, and took care of everything. I love that I can buy a part here, and return the old one for recycling or whatever it is they do with them, to any other AutoZone locations. So I bought it here, which was quite a ways out of my way to get it that night, I was able to go to the one in Springfield the following day and return the old one for a refund and they could recycle it. I love that, because one trip out of the way was honestly plenty for me. I would be annoyed if I had to return the old part to this location. Like I said, it was a quick trip in and out, but with good customer service. None of it was terribly memorable, but I had no complaints either. They achieved the goal and it made me happy. I would definitely return if I were in this area more often. But I rarely am, so I'll stick to the Springfield location as my go-to AutoZone location. Review 104 of 2017. read more

I'd give this zero stars if I could. This AutoZone on West 11th is not safe for women. Had a friend of mine go in for a new battery, was asked the simple question of putting a phone number on file to keep track of her car and parts needed for it. She had asked for help installing the car battery, to which the store employee Phil said "I am short staffed, but my friend just pulled up and could help you out if you'd like." Said friend was Sam, from the car wash next to Planet Fitness across the street. The battery was installed and my friend went on her way. At 8pm.that night, a random number texted her and it turns out that Phil gave Sam my friend's phone number as soon as she left. Not only is this illegal as this is personal information a store has on you, but it is creepy, weird, and unsafe for women. AutoZone corporate has refused to help this issue further and discipline the employee (rather, fire this employee for giving personal information out). None of us feel safe now going to this AutoZone and will be taking our business elsewhere where we will not be harrassed by the men that work there. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, this is NOT a safe place for women. My friend went there awhile ago and they GAVE her NUMBER to their "friend" who works across the street at the car wash. This is not only an invasion of privacy, but is extremely unprofessional. Phil said they were short staffed, but his "friend" who doesn't even work at Auto Zone, installed her battery when he pulled in. His friend then got her number from the SYSTEM not her. I had to buy chains in California for the pass requirement, while coming back to Oregon. It cost me $150, and going through the pass, I didn't even need them. I ended up losing the receipt, and went to this AutoZone to see if I could return them . A man named Robert helped me, who was very kind and accommodating. He called the store in california, and convinced the other employees to look up my transaction number, so I could get a refund. Visiting my son in Eugene and his car battery was completely dead. I was able to jump start it and got it Auto Zone. I feel very fortunate to have met Mike when I arrived. I'll spare the details, but he was incredibly professional and honest about every aspect that could have been the issue with the vehicle. I really learned a lot from Mike. Had to jump my car a few times over the weekend, so on Sat I went to have my battery tested at Auto Zone. Tech said battery was 100%, so now I'm forced to take it to the shop to have the starter system fully tested (which costs me $60) only to find out it IS THE BATTERY. IF the test had been done properly, I could have just bought a battery from them and been done, instead now I have to buy the battery (won't be from them) AND pay the extra $60. The first person I spoke with at the store said maybe they could get me a deal on the battery, which would have been good customer service for wasting $60 of mine. When the manager came to the phone, he offered nothing except lame apologies. DO NOT TRUST AUTO ZONE TO RUN TESTS!! Go somewhere else and buy your battery somewhere else too! read more

This is just like any other AutoZone but I wanted to write a review for this one in particular for how much the lovely woman who helped me with my windshield wipers was. Not only did she check what kind I needed but she didn't act annoyed when I asked her to help me put the wiper on my car in the parking lot. We had a pleasant conversation which made things really painless and easy on my end. She even told me which wipers were better quality and they weren't even the most expensive ones. I wish I remembered her name so I could give s proper review but I'll definitely be back the next time I need more car parts. read more
