It's not very often you find a good reliable place to have your car serviced. I was concerned with me living in Denver and not being familiar with the various auto places in Bozeman. I surfed the web and found Bozeman Community Auto. It had great reviews. I had no choice but to try them. My daughter goes to Montana State in Bozeman and has my Jeep Wrangler. My daughter has had a couple of issues with her car. They fixed my daughter's car at a great price. Their technicians were very knowledgeable, explained exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. Having worked on my Jeep Wrangler before, replacing the cam and rocker arms, I was very familiar with the types of issues that are common on the Jeep. Their assessment was right on! I highly recommend Bozeman Community Auto. Because of their popularity, they are busy. It will take a week or more to get your vehicle in. It's well worth the wait.

The uhaul had to be towed by somebody else....geico rules... so i had to pay for towing to Boseman) anyway I slept in the back of my new teuck (2016 silverado) until Eric and Lisa opened up... They were awsome...I would give them 10 stars...Eric was right on top of my issue....heater hoses connection had corroded and needed new hoses... he solved the issue and had me rolling again...I don't think it was more than an hour and I was rolling again. Auto Stop installed a rebuilt engine in my VW Vanagon. Within three miles of leaving the shop, the…read morelow coolant warning alarm came on. I immediately returned, but after a brief inspection I was told there was nothing wrong. When I left the shop, the warning alarm came on again. I called Auto Stop, explained that the warning had returned, and was again assured there was nothing wrong. I was told to wait and see if the alarm came on again after driving. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and I could smell coolant burning on the hot engine. I made it home just before coolant began dripping from the vehicle. At that point, I had the van towed to another repair shop. The second shop found that the primary coolant hose from the reservoir to the engine had been installed incorrectly and was approximately 3/4 inch too short. They also discovered a second hose with a large bulge that was on the verge of rupturing. Both issues required immediate repair. What disappointed me most was not simply that mistakes were made, but that my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. After the warning alarm came on twice within minutes of leaving the shop, I expected a thorough inspection of the cooling system rather than reassurance that nothing was wrong. Because of the improper installation, I incurred more than $500 in additional repair costs, plus the cost of towing the vehicle to another shop. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. The quality of the installation, the lack of careful follow-up, and the poor customer service left me with significant additional expense and inconvenience.

The problem is my truck nearly overheated on the way coming through Lake Tahoe. Last year, after moving to Bozeman, I noticed the power…read moresteering pump was going out(a few weeks prior I had to replace the hose because of a leak, it must have damaged the pump before I got to replacing it). I called a dozen auto shops for an estimate, knowing the pump would cost around $350-$450, And it would only take about half an hour to do(understanding a vehicle repair shop would round up to an hour of labor). Every place said upwards of 700$. Straightaway motors was the last on my list and they estimated 425$ for the whole service, which ended up costing 415$. They didn't over charge, they didn't lie, they were helpful and friendly and I have now returned to them on multiple occasions, experiencing the same fantastic service EVERY TIME. These mechanics are experienced, friendly, and trustworthy. I feel so lucky to have stumbled on such a wonderful business.
