My Mom and I came to this AutoZone Auto Parts in Montclair to pick up one bottle of power steering fluid for her van. It was a nice and clean shop. Shelves were well stocked and quite organized. It was my first time here, but my Mom has been here in the past. Luckily, the power steering fluids were on the left wall near the front entrance. We were looking for the Master Pro brand, but they didn't carry it. The nice lady staff helped us with finding another brand called Shop Pro. It is Honda compatible so we bought it. Its price for a 12 oz bottle is the same as the Master Pro brand. It worked for us. They weren't super busy at the time. We paid for the bottle swiftly. Came here a couple days ago as I had a yellow left warning light out in the back of my car. One of the guys really tried to help me at first which bulb # I needed. He was adamant about me getting the bulb out, which he was right. Bulb # was on the bulb. Also learned that the # with A at the end means Amber for yellow. Glad I came here. Came here on Monday at 5:30pm to drop off a starter core ... the 3 employees were hopeless they told me they need a manager to handle this situation and I was like oK ? So I went different location and I ask the other employees at a different store and told me that was just a lie ... that all employees must accept this problem not just the manager.. I just Quit Autozone today a really hostile work environment the manager had me for months illegally dump the Autozone trash at my home that contained oil trash and used windshield wipers I had to personally use my own truck to make deliveries leaving one employee in the store at times I would get left in the store by myself at times to deal with customers and answer commercial calls lunch's were pushed back constantly then the manager would fix the time so she wouldn't get in trouble screaming and yelling everyday loved my job but really hate that you would show up and get forced to come at a different time for your shift no raise but can be told to do everything under the sun the candies expired and the drinks and still would sell it to customers read more

My battery was dying and AAA could not find anyone to come replace it when it was covered under warranty through them. I came in and Eric helped me get it tested to confirm it was done for. I spent the day going back and forth with AAA and after hours, ended up back at Auto Zone having to purchase a new battery myself. Angel and Eric assisted me and got me back up and running. I came to make a return a defective part that I had already called a week before to replace. When I came in to get my part exchanged the employees were adamant on having me pay for the new replacement part only because they didn't know how to properly conduct a return. Extremely disappointed in the service. There's no reason I should have to pay for a part that was Defective !! then they started trying to say I broke it !!! Walked in. Was looking for door edge trim. It was empty when I came in and the person who was at the cash register greeted me right away. I asked for door trim and boom.... Pointed me in the right aisle and even walked me there. I found what I was looking for within about 30 seconds and was in and out in less then 5 minutes. Came here about a week ago for a new set of windshield wipers. I walked in with all intentions of finding them in my own lol as soon as I stepped in I was greeted and asked if I needed any help finding anything. Unfortunately I don't remember the guys name who helped me out. I walked over to the register he asked me the make and model of my car and pulled up different options. Read them off to me and their prices. Once I selected a pair he walked over and grabbed them and rang them up. My favorite part was re asked if I needed help putting them on. Uhhh yes of course I do! I came in to get my windshield wipers replaced, standard, right? I was helped by Zachary, who was extremely not interested in helping me. When I finally got him to look up the size wipers I'd need I had asked him if he could help me put the wipers on, which they advertised on TV they do, he said, "right now I can't, bc we're about to close". Mind you, 30min before they closed, and I was the ONLY ONE IN THE STORE. It was completely dead, and my car was literally parked outside their store. IF, someone had come into the store he could have easily seen them. If you gonna advertise they your employees help, you may want to make sure they actually DO! I took my battery in to be charged. I was told to come back the next day which wasn't a problem. I knew that battery wasn't bad. It just needed a charge. When I went back the next day, I was told I needed a new battery. I guess if you don't know any better, they'll get you. I ended up getting my battery charged somewhere else. Issue: I ordered a car cover in-store and I was told that it will be available in 3-4 working days. Six working days later, I called to see if it came in and they said that it had. I live well out of town & my job is roughly 20 miles away- so it is not easy (or cheap) to go to this location. I only went to this one because I "thought" I was saving time since I have business in-town at times. I am writing pass my point so here it goes-- I arrive back at this location and the person who helped me said that the car cover had not came in. Of course I was puzzled. I insisted that it had, then a worker confirmed that my shipment came and he literately put it down where he sat. What basically happened was the staff were running around the whole place looking for my package and they found that some other staff member screwed up and sold it off to another customer. I should have cancelled my order- but I was rushed into them re-ordering it, and although they offered verbal apologies (and claimed they will give me "10% off" to my next purchase), this whole episode gave me a bad vibe about the place. Anyway- again (and on my receipt) I was told that the package will be in on Tuesday and I will wait for them to call. They never called. Now Friday after work I called- and I asked if they had my cover... even without giving any more details about who I was- they rush me on hold for over 10 mins (later found that this was the assistant manager) (uh huh). Ut oh red flags lol. I call back, no one answered it quick like before, letting it ring, and someone else finally answers and I am PISSED. I asked do you have it or I will cancel. I was placed on hold for another 6 mins (by that time I got into my car and decided to pay them a visit during heavy rush-hour traffic). I finally get someone, and they gave me the run around and complained that they had other customers to deal with and would not speak to me about the issue unless I give a callback-- but at this point I am done and I should not be treated like I was in the back of the line when here it was their fault to begin with why I did not get this cover a week ago. When I got to the location- oddly the place did not have so many customers- and the "manager" was no where to be found. The "assistant" manager provided a half-ass apology and the person whom treated me like crap was magically no where to be found. I did get the product - with a lame "when you come back maybe we can offer 10% off"-- riiiiiiighhht. I am not coming back here or at any other autozone for treating their customers like dirt. What a difference new people make. I have been at this store before and just hated the people. I came in today and was greeted as I walked in the store. I mean a warm greeting. We went to the counter and had Dolores help us, the store manager. She was what a manager should be. Very customer service based and spoke plainly about car terms nothing too technical. She looked up my warranty and said my battery was covered. Do I need help changing it? I said yes please. Prior to selling me a new battery she checked my old one. Dolores was very helpful. Autozone has taken the time to get rid of a couple of bad apples and replaced them with super stars at this location. Customer service goes a long way.
