I recently came here to buy rear calipers, rotars and break pads. Will say for being mid week and later at night, the store was extremely busy. There was a line for parts and to pay, and it seemed like the staff may have been a bit over whelmed, but they handled it smoothly and the line moved as fast as it could. The hispanic gentleman who helped me was very polite and helpful with getting me my parts. On my trip back to return the core parts, it was easy and quickly done. I was in and out in under 5 mins. I'd EMPHATICALLY recommend going elsewhere! First, I need to say that all of the cashiers I've come across any time I've visited this location have been very polite and amicable. Here's the disappointing part. This Auto Zone location is hands down the worst, most frustrating and poorly managed store I've ever dealt with. This location has no problem towing shopping customers' vehicles, sticking them with hundreds of dollars in fees, yet they turn a blind eye to the daily circus happening in their own parking lot. Most days there are 30-40 people essentially tailgating with their cars spread out, hoods up, hanging around for hours while "working" on vehicles in a filthy, trash-strewn lot. It looks more like an unsupervised junkyard hangout than a retail business. Oil spills, debris, and random parts are left behind, and no one from management seems to care. What's worse is the complete lack of accountability. Complaints to store management go nowhere. I typically avoid leaving negative reviews and have preferred to address any business concerns with store/business supervisors first; however, attempting to escalate issues to district and regional level management representatives did not change a thing. They've completely ignored in-store requests to speak to the store's general manager, Patty, and all other contacts have remained unreachable, despite leaving messages and contact information. As a legitimate paying customer I don't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience and will refrain from shopping at ANY Auto Zone in the future as I believe brand loyalty and customer service go hand in hand. There are plenty of competitors willing to supply parts at less than retail with MORE ATTENTIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE (i.e. RockAuto, Parts Geek, Honda Parts Now, etc.) Heck, at this rate, you might as well get the parts online and have one of the parking lot mechanics here do the work for you for a fraction of the cost since this is apparently what their business model currently encourages. I wanted to like this auto zone because it's convenient to where I live. But I think I'll just take my happy self to mueller location in the future. I bought a license plate cover. It came wrapped in a thin plastic that is thinner then Saran Wrap! It's even thinner than the plastic wrapping that wraps cds. But because I unwrapped the plate cover from ultra thin cellophane like material to check fit they wouldn't take it as a return. I got upset and told them I would be contacting corporate about this because I provided the receipt all the content that should have been accompanying the cover. I don't understand the big deal. Man this place is awful. They don't care about customers, only their hoards of mechanics outside. There's always a large line with maybe 1 person trying to help and "trying" is not the right word. Even if there's a big line, multiple times I've seen 2 other staff members talking to each other, pretending to stock the shelves. The staff is mostly very rude and condescending. I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt over the past few years, coming in every now and then, but it's always the same awful experience. I should've known better but ended up taking the employees advice during a battery testing. They told me that i needed to get my alternator checked because it showed on her machine that it wasn't charging my car? okay listen i'm a girl with no car experience so i took their word for it and i ended up going to honda to get the alternator checked. I had the unfortunate luck to have had a dead battery when I tried to leave work today. I got a jump from one of my employees and headed to the closest auto parts store, which happened to be this Autozone. I asked for assistance from a young male employee who told me he would help me in 5 minutes as he noticed a man behind me that I assumed was a friend due to their interaction laden with frequent cussing and lame attempts to sound cool. I was clearly irritated when he told me to wait while he chatted with his "homie" (his words, not mine). He noticed this and in a sarcastic tone asked if that was ok. Since I had turned off my engine I was pretty much at this idiot's mercy I told him yes. I wish I got this guy's name because I'm pretty sure he was the worst employee in customer service history. When he eventually broke away from his chum to help me the banter he had with me was one of the oddest and most offensive I've had. As I held the door open for him to wheel out the battery testing machine thingy, he called me a gentleman (I'm a GIRL) (I should have let the door slam in his face) -- Strike 1 As we walked to my truck he commented on smelling weed and described this smell quite vividly using the f-word around 5 times --Strike 2 He then pointed out my "bad mood" which was 100% due to him --Strike 3 If I wasn't literally stranded here I would have told him to shove his battery tester thingy up his bum, but I had to suck it up and listen to his inane, ignorant, immature, douchey chatter when all I wanted to do was leave. I will never return to this Autozone. I would rather attach the battery cables to my nipples to generate enough charge to start the battery next time. I do have to say a couple of good things about the two managers (one hispanic male and one african american female) who were there also. I had the absolute best Customer Service hands down with Anthony Nichols! He has gone above and beyond to help with my battery. My battery was actually located under the passenger seat of my Jeep and it's really difficult to replace. He had the absolute best attitude and even when helping me...he was helping his coworkers with their customers with the BEST attitude! What an amazing guy! I recommend the one on stassney very smart & friendly staff unlike the ones over there on riverside drive. Me and my husband went up to the one on east riverside & the lady seemed like she just wanted to go home. Although I under stand it was an hour before closing she still could've done more to help. To top it off she seemed like I was annoying her..I went in to get my battery tested, she then explained to me why she couldn't get a proper reading which I under stood. But she then told me to flicker my headlights..the lights only need a six volt to work..which wouldn't determine if my battery was bad or not. She then rolled her eyes once I said that..which was very rude. I highly suggest you go to the one on stassney:) a whole lot more educated and helpful. read more

What a difference someone who cares can make! This past Saturday I met Phil... the new store manager of Autozone... My car battery died, and I called Autozone just to see my chances of someone coming out to start it, and the guy said, "Mam, we normally don't do this but let me check" In 25 minutes Phil, was at my house, jumped my battery and even ran a test and let me know my battery was pretty much dead. He followed me to back to the autozone to make sure I didn't breakdown. I told him I was so thankful for his service, but I was in a crazyyyy hurry, his store was PACKED with people, and he said NO PROBLEM you will be in and out in 10 minutes. Phil grabbed two people, one to ring me up, and one to pull the items needed, and he ran outside to start the battery exchange. I was paid, and fixed up in 10minutes as promised! Phil prodes himself on customer service and I give him a 10!!! I just wish this store wasn't on riverside! I will definately let phil and his happy staff take care of me! read more

Very impressed with the customer service here. I came in on a busy Saturday to get my car battery tested. The gentleman behind the counter came out to my car, tested the battery (twice just for good measure) and even swapped out the bad one for a new one. My battery died and I went here to get a new one. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Yes, they did install it, but then my car stalled in the parking lot (it was running fine when I came in, had the thermostat and water pump replaced the day before). The guy helping me told me to go home, it was fine. No thanks for shopping with us, no nothing. The check engine light turned on and my car wouldn't start after that so I was stuck there. The manager comes out and accuses ME of saying their employee sabotaged my car. All I asked was why my car isn't starting or running! Finally the computer resets (was stuck in idle mode) and I can go. This staff was so unfriendly and rude. I was crying I was so upset that my car wasn't running as I need it for work and they were cold and rude and completely ignorant. They have lost a customer. read more

I have a 97 Toyota 4-Runner that had a 6yr old battery that wouldn't take a charge and needed replacement. I went to Firestone and they wanted to keep my vehicle for two days! They also demanded $69 for a electrical inspection + battery + installation + recycling fee! AutoZone rocks! Then another employee that just walked straight to the back from the restroom, ignoring all of the customers in the store (there was a line at the register and at the help desk) and sat down.
