I was greeted by utter disrespect, laziness, & misogynistic comments by Assistant Manager, Andrew. Not only did Andrew fail to understand my dad called in & had the part pulled, he refused to look for it, & then told me (I quote), "I hate when men send in women who don't know anything." After showing him the text of info from my dad that included a picture of the part, & calling my dad on speaker to reiterate exactly what I already explained 3+ times, he stormed off to check the shelf & found the part. He only apologized that "the part was on the wrong shelf" after I said I'd like to do a survey or talk to someone about my experience. Sadly I learned my mom also had a similar experience with Assistant Manager Andrew. I cannot believe someone who is supposed to be a frontline face and leader in the store, would treat customer in this manner. I am still fuming about the "women" comment; completely unacceptable.

Also the guy at the counter suggested a place in town where I could get the screw that they didnt have in stock. Saved me a dollar plus on each screw, the joys of buying from the locals! If I was in Eagle River, I would definately come here to buy my motorcycle and all of its neccesary parts in the future. This place is worth having around. Jeremy told us that wasn't the case and showed us how good the brake pads were still and explained where the noise we had heard was coming from. Now the car is unable to work and will be $11,000 for a new engine or $500 to sell. This is unacceptable and atrocious work! Another issue that happened with them was my other car was brought in to fix my heat and they didn't fix the fuel pump, which led to all my gas leaking out. Under no circumstances should you go here. They will purposefully ruin your cars.

Given that it is a CVT, I knew I was in for a world of hurt. At A&A, I was charged $400 for a transmission only diagnostic first and foremost. Then I was quoted $15k for a new transmission and vvt solenoid ($11k transmission, $4k solenoid). I wasn't even offered the option of a used, low mileage transmission, and after talking to multiple other mechanics that price for the solenoids is outlandish. New solenoids cost roughly $350, and they're not exceedingly complicated to install. If you do go here, which I would not recommend based on the price of the diagnostic alone, I would recommend asking for a second opinion. There aren't a ton of shops that will rebuild a Subaru transmission, but Proven Auto in Anchorage has been wonderful to work with.
