I was quoted 158 for this job the day prior over the phone and I confirmed at the start of the appointment if that would be the price. My brakes were in poor shape, missing a brake pad on one side and the mechanics spent an extra 15-20 mins working on my cylinder. At the end of the job, Chris informed me that they got air on the line and would have to bleed the brakes. (I've always had my brakes bled at the end of any brake job so this is standard for me to have done whenever I get my breaks done. They told me this would be an extra 120 dollars at the end of the job. My father is a mechanic and said that price was a little high just to bleed the brakes and was very familiar with the procedure. He told me "go call your dad and ask him to send you more money." When I asked if they could take 20 bucks off and knock the price down to 100 from 120 he asked me to tell him how old I was which I thought was rude and uncalled for. I told him I was 30 and he proceeded to say "wow you look 18" and said "one day you're going to have to learn that everything in life isn't free sweetheart." When I went to his office to pay he also said I'm going to have to buy him lunch because they spent extra time working on my car than they planned. Disgusting behavior. I would not recommend this shop to any woman (or really anyone) unless you want to be taken advantage of and upsold. They ended up bleeding one brake so my car would be somewhat drivable. My interior dashboard was also scratched up when I got my car back from them.

Honest Mechanic was my 2nd opinion, although I did not mention to them what the initial shop had recommended. Jeff was my primary contact and he listened intently to my description of the issue. After assessing the car he determined that it was the alternator (which was my initial guess) and he also recommended the serpentine belt be replaced. They ended up keeping the vehicle almost an entire week (due to various issues such as awaiting parts, exchanging defective refurbished parts, etc.). However, Jeff checked in with me everyday to keep me updated. Also, I had initially told him that time was not a major concern for me so this certainly not a complaint. It has been two weeks and my car, at 185k miles, is running well. I have not had any recurrence of the issues that I was initially having. I definitely recommend this shop and would return for future automotive needs.

Last October my check engine light started flashing on my Silverado and no one could tell me why! I even took it to the Chevrolet dealership near my home in Atlanta, Ga. and they missed diagnosed the issues! I knew I needed brakes and shocks on my truck and I knew I was coming to Concord, NC for my birthday! So I decided to bring my truck to the Pep Boys here to have the work done! Now here's what I didn't expect, I didn't expect Tanner the automotive Tech to be so dayum good at what he does! Tanner took one look at my truck and saw that my PVC hose had come loose on my truck which was the cause of my flashing cel. He also saw that my value cover gaskets were leaking! He also told me I didn't need a brake master cylinder, but I did need just front brakes! Tanner replaced my front brakes and resurfaced my rotors! Tina the asst manager, made sure that I was able to apply my Just Brakes wannaties, all the work was going to be completed that day, and have my truck would be back to me before a event that I had to attend that evening! She also made it possible for Lyft to take me home while the work was being done on my truck and then pick me up again! Today I told Mark Davis the store manager, the fact that Tanner was able to address and fix my check engine light issues was enough for me to come back the next time I'm in town!
