I have been using Automotive Specialties for 24 years. The current owner, Lee, was a mechanic there for years and a neighbor when I moved to Murrieta. In those 24 years I have had 3 transitions replaced, tune ups, engine mounts, suspension repairs, regular brake jobs and all mantaince done strictly here unless of a failure out of town, and I call Lee to verify pricing so I know they are fair. I took my RV here since multiple people told me they were great. I had them do an oil change and fuel filter change on my diesel pusher Motorhome. No issues with the work and when dropping it off, people were friendly. The engine takes 24 quarts of oil and there are two fuel filters so it is not cheap to have this service done and I understand that. When I checked out, I did not have my readers on and paid the bill using a credit card. As lots of places are doing, there did a 3% charge for this service. This used to be part of doing business, but now it is too common for companies to pass that cost on to its customers. They do have signs telling you this and they did tell me again when checking out so they did that part properly, I just don't like the change in policy. I did not have my readers on when I paid the bill . I put them on when she handed me the receipt and the bill was higher than I had expected. My reaction to this was the say "pricey". Immediately the women behind the counter informed me that there were plenty of other places that did RV service. This is a trigger for me. I generally do not like doing business with companies that do not care if you come to them or are a return customer. I do not know if this is the owners opinion also or just the sad woman behind the front desks opinion. I have not decided whether I will go back for additional service, but most likely not. read more

I have been coming to Automotive Specialties for years. I started with a 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer, then a trailered boat and now a Sprinter van. I guess you could say that this is a jack of all trades (vehicles), type of shop. I have come to know Lee and Gator. They are very nice gentlemen and very courteous. Lee is very up front and will advise you if there is work that has to be done now and also advise you when the work could wait. The last oil change visit, my brakes were squeaking and I asked Lee to check them. Lee advised me that the brakes were fine and they could be changed at a later date. Lee is very up front with pricing and is very reasonable. Lee's pricing is usually lower or equal to other shops in the area. I have definitely recommended Automotive Specialties to all my family and friends. About that trailered boat... My trailer broke down on me, while I was on my way home from the lake. I had it towed to Automotive Specialties and Lee took care of me. It appears that the trailer hub needed some greasing, and it hadn't been done in a while. Lee fixed up my trailer and it was as good as new. The maintenance did not cost me an arm and a leg. You know that B.O.A.T stands for, Bring Out Another Thousand. Well, not in this case. I bought an older motor home that needed a lot of work. I had the work on the coach done by Jason Junge who did a wonderful job and who I highly recommend. I also needed an oil change, transmission service, and other mechanical repairs and service done and I needed a tow system to flat tow my Chevy Colorado behind the motor home. I asked Jason if he could recommend anyone. He told me that he always takes his RVs to Automotive Specialties so that is where I took mine and I couldn't be happier with the recommendation. Bobby and Lee are both very professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. They did an inspection and then gave me a very fair and reasonable quote. They took care of everything that was needed for my cross country trip and even fixed a few things that I didn't know about. They are fast and efficient and very reasonably priced. This is my first cross country trip in an RV and to be honest I was a little nervous about the trip and what might possibly go wrong with an older RV.
