We took our 2017 Subaru Outback to Mikar to check a humming noise from the brakes. Nick examined the brakes, found them to be 5mm and 6mm so plenty of brake material left. He sanded down the brake pads to remove road dust and then test drove it. The humming noise was gone. Nick sent me a very well written text telling me what he had done and that the car was ready for pickup. Charge was only $65. The honesty and reliability is paramount and we weren't actually there to see if the brakes were O.K. I congratulated Nick on a job so well done, with such honesty and drove away knowing the brakes were absolutely good - and we were safe. Many other auto repair businesses could have charged for a new brake job $650+. The world needs more people like Nick, owners Mike and Karen and team! We took our Subaru Outback to Mikar for a brake renewal and service. Nick texted to say the car was ready - service was complete, but the brakes could go longer before replacing them. Charge was $63. Who does that? I can't think of any auto service company or auto dealer who would send away a customer because they didn't need to spend the money on repairs yet! read more

I took a chance on Bryan (the owner) as I've always been dissatisfied by detailers in the past and had resigned myself to the fact that if I wanted it done right I had to do it myself but not this time. After contacting them, I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly they were. From the first conversation with them, I new I could totally trust them. Way back in the day, I took my vehicles to Goodyear and every time...there was always something wrong with my only 2 year old car....and more money! But that was crap. MIKAR saved me from myself! In reality I bit off more than I could chew when attempting to repair a rear main seal leak on my vehicle; a friend recommended I contact MIKAR to help, and help they did. This is the best mechanic I have ever been to. My 2000 Toyota Solara had a fuel injector issue that needed to be addressed before I leave for college in a few weeks. I had a number of events I needed to work around prior and they were able to work with me and work around the events I had planned. My car was ready for me the day after I got back into town and when I needed it. The repair was not cheap but was not over priced either. The owner charged my dad $644 out- the-door for an alternator replacement. I thought it was a bit pricey so I asked him how long it took him. He became defensive agressive and rude probably because he just called out on overcharging my senior citizen dad. I figured maybe there was some major removals for this particular vehicle. I can change most in under 2 hours and I'm not a professional so I looked online to find the range for that vehicle. $212-$486 parts and labor, no tax uncluded. Of course he wanted to put in "top-of the-line" parts... and charge $100/hr shop rate, so he basically admitted that his price was high. I guess that's the special senior rate. read more

These people are phenomenal!! Our 2016 Honda Pilot would not start this AM, with what turned out to be a 4 year old dead battery. After 2 hours on a charger I was able to start it, called Karen at MIKAR, who said bring right over. Mike determined battery was the problem, put a new one in, changed oil, and rotated tires while there, and had me back on the road shortly. My total bill was MUCH less than expected. I would give them less then 1 star! I took my car there in which I paid them to change out the belt tensioner. Well the car belt continued to squeak they said it ruined the new belt. Well took it to a shop because I couldnt take it anymore and guess what it was never replaced. Stay away they charge and dont fix! read more
