Thanks to Avi and Leah, I was able to get home and am now typing this review. I had an issue with my key not turning in the ignition, and I had to leave my car in Clifton overnight. I called their number, and Leah was really supportive and helpful. Instead of sending someone out and charging me extra, she offered the option of having the new key picked up at their office for $50. (Most car key copies are at least $100, if not more if you go through a dealership, which most people -including many locksmiths- insist that you do.) We arrived and met Avi, who is also really nice and helpful. He made the key quickly, and told me to call back to let them know if it worked. I didn't realize how incredibly worn down my old key was until he made me a new one. (I'm surprised my old key even worked for as long as it did!) I went back to Clifton, tried the key, and it didn't work. I tried using WD-40 and tapping the key, and it didn't work. I became frustrated and worried that it would cost a lot to fix, but when I called back, Avi assured me that he'd come and look at it later on after he helped another customer. Time went on and I became impatient and wanted to see if I could get someone else to come right then and see if the ignition was the problem. I called a place, and I received a base quote of $125 just for someone to come out and look at the car, but insinuating that it would become more costly if more parts were needed, etc. I called Avi and told him that I was thinking about going through another person, because I wanted it to be done before night so I could go home, and he convinced me to let him come out and look at it (which took him about 20 to 30 minutes out of his way to service my car). I am SO HAPPY that I went through Avi! He worked on my car for 5 minutes or so, got it to work, and it wasn't the ignition! And on top of that, he only charged me the service fee. This means that, for everything he provided, I was only paying the base amount I would have paid for someone to simply LOOK at the vehicle and tell me what they THOUGHT the problem was! On top of that, Avi and Leah are really cool people, they have fun personalities, and they're very genuine. You can tell that they really care about what they do, and they understand when people are in unfortunate situations and try to help them as much as they can. Avi really is the best. Hands down, I could not imagine better pricing and service for what was a very stressful problem. I have a Honda Pilot, and one day after lunch, my key wouldn't turn in the ignition. PANIC! Turns out, after some quick googling in my driveway, this is a "Honda problem" where around the 120k mile mark, the pins in the ignition switch bend and warp from use over time such that the key can't be used any more. It is a known problem and Honda refuses to issue a recall. After another google seach for "auto lock smiths", Avi's shop popped up, and I called right away. He said he sees the problem all of the time, and it would be no problem to fix it right away! Avi offered to come out to my location in his van, which is an awesome option, but I was able go jiggle the key enough and get it started so I headed over to his shop. When I got there, not only was he calm and friendly in the face of a very stressed customer, but he showed me just how the pins were bent on an old ignition sample he had, and just how he was going to replace them. He even offered to have one of his staff to drive me back to work! About an hour and half later he was finished, and all worked perfectly. The price was incredibly reasonable (under $300) and I had contacted a Honda dealer who wanted $700+ to replace the whole ignition and make new keys. Instead of doing more than was necessary, Avi has the skills and technique to actually FIX the lock, not just replace it wholesale. He guarantees his work for the life of the vehicle, and I have no doubt that my ignition problem is resolved for good. If you ever need a locksmith, this is your guy! I just moved to Cincinnati a month ago and lost my only key to my 2013 Honda (the spares were still in Chicago). After calling several places to try and help me, I was told I needed to go to the dealership as they would be the only ones who would have the right key for my car. I figured I would try one more place and got a hold of Avi. He came by within the hour and began cutting a key for me. He did not have the correct key either (they were already ordered but he wouldn't receive them for a few more days - just my luck!) but he cut a key for me anyway so I at least could get INTO my car. He said he would find a key for me the next day (this was a Sunday) and he did just that! I got a call the next day saying that he had found the last (valet) key for my car in town. He came by, cut the key, programmed it to my car, and said he would call when the other key came in and program the new one, along with my spares that were being mailed to me. I got a call later on that week and he reprogrammed the rest very quickly. This guy is the best. He had never worked with the new Honda keys before but was still able to help me out. He gave me the valet key, the new remote key, and the spare to get into my car for a very reasonable price. SO i lost my keys leaving a bar the night before leaving a bar! i called this company and the Leah was very helpful, she told me everything i needed to have ready and said that the smith was busy with another customer but should be ready for me within the next two hours. he called me within the two hours and met me at my car within 15 minutes once he was ready which means they stick to their word. Avi was very friendly and had me laughing within the first minute. we started breaking down the door to my car and as we are about to pop the door off i spotted my keys on the dashboard. i stayed silent for a minute and and just started shaking my head and laughing because of all the trouble and stress i had just gone thru. (walking half a mile and waiting for 30 minutes for a bus while its snowing, and also having to get a ride back to the car, also was planning on having to spend over $100 which woulda made my rent money short.) Avi looked at me funny and then i pointed at the keys on the dashboard. "are those your keys?" "YES! OMG IM SO DUMBBBBBBBB!" we both started laughing at the sillyness of the situation. avi only charged me the fee for showing up and made me a spare key on the spot.. just meeting with avi made my day so much better! i still cant believe i did all that for nothing. but i will be using this company for any future problems read more

My situation was not as dire as others on here. I was not locked out of my vehicle, and therefore was not about to have to tow my car because I couldn't get in. If I was in that situation, however, Avi's mobile-unit equipped with key-cutting and programming was ready to come out and save the day. My situation - a key blade that had sheared off the key fob - allowed me to travel to his place of business to get him to cut and program a new key. It was a little confusing when I first arrived, because he had recently moved one house moved one house down the road, but he got me set up in no-time. Avi is a character. Very chatty, personable, and while he's working, lets you know what he's doing and why he is doing it. He is also very professional. When I took a shot at the dealer for previously charging me double for what he was currently doing when the other key-fob had broken, he actually defended the dealer - who, bear in mind is his competitor - saying it was really poor design which was to blame, and no fault of the dealer. I thought that was pretty classy, he easily could have bad-mouthed them to try to boost his business. Avi has a great little niche business, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has car key issues over any locksmith or car dealer. read more

I recently picked up my first Porsche but it came with only one of its keys working... I made several calls to both my local dealer as well as several of the local Locksmiths here in the Cincinnati area trying to get help. Every call I made resulted in more frustration and dead ends leaving me with the only option of having the dealer order a new key to replace the bad key directly from Germany at a mind blowing cost. I lost my car keys to my Dodge. I went to the dealer to have them make me a new one and it would only open the trunk of my car. They said that the lock was probably aftermarket and they could make me a new remote if I brought the car in. The problem isn't that I couldn't start the car, it's that I couldn't get in the door. They told me I could have it towed there or something but they couldn't do anything about it. Problem with that is that it was on the 5th level of a parking garage. No truck is going to go to the 5th floor of a parking garage. I called Avi and after a little confusion from poor directions he found his way to where I was. He was extremely friendly and willing to keep a conversation on just about anything you wanted. I got to know a little bit about him and he of me. Great service at a fair price and very responsive. The lock button on my key fob stopped working and I had been meaning to get a 2nd key for my wife so I decided to buy a couple of generic keys with attached key fobs on Amazon (the OEM keys were extremely overpriced). Originally I planned to program it myself but upon reading the instructions I realized that wouldn't be possible - I only had one "master" key and I would need two to program the new keys. Since I couldn't do it myself I called Avi and he was able to get me in within a couple of hours, cut both keys and programmed both key fobs, and even offered to fix the lock button on my original key fob. I took him up on that offer and he not only replaced the button but also replaced the outer casing for the key fob. He was friendly, explained each step of the process as he was doing it, told me what he was doing and why, etc. and was finished with everything within 30 minutes. Highly recommended. read more

I cannot tell you how MUCH I appreciate Avi. He was honest and professional all the way!! I too have heard horror stories about locksmiths taking advantage of you and was leery to call as I am in Columbus, OH and my daughter is in Cincinnati. I called 4 other locksmiths before I called Avi. I couldn't get any other locksmith except one other to come out and work on the motorcycle because apparently it was too difficult. The other guy worked on my motorcycle for three hours and couldn't get a key to work on my motorcycle. Avi worked on it for an hour and he got the key to work perfectly. In general Avi is a great guy, made the whole process very easy and enjoyable. He talked all about motorcycles with me and he even gave me an oem key, a spare, and even a key code from the cut so I could get another key made if I needed it. I would highly recommend him. His whole setup was very professional and much better than any other locksmith I have ever seen. I lost my car keys. So now I am in panic mode with no spares. Of course I call around the first page Google guys. Then I call my Toyota dealer. they tell me to have it towed up there to have a new key made and programed. Don't be a dummy like me and listen to them! They wanted $1300 plus labor; you see the only way they can get my Solara started was to order a new ECU from the factory. I said no of course and had my car towed back home. I had spoke to Avi (the owner) before all of this nonsense and he warned me not to tow it to the dealer but I did not listen, but I wish I would have. So I called Avi back, purchased his service, and he was at my house the next day. 1 1/2 hours later I had a car that started and three functional keys. He is very knowledgable at what he does . Automotive Key was great! I lost my wallet/keys over the weekend and was having terrible luck with my AAA locksmith not having the skills to disassemble my car door to make another key for me. Considering that I'm not from Cincinnati, unfamiliar with the area, and needed to be back in Louisville for work that following Monday morning I was a little panicked. (I've heard some awful stories regarding ripoffs) As a last resort I called the local locksmith, Automotive Key, and Avi responded quickly and was successfully able to replace my key and made a spare a key for me. He was also able to make me a copy of my roommate's house key with no dilemma. I lost my car keys at work and asked my parents to help me find a locksmith. They found this site while waiting on another locksmith to call back. They called and talked with Leah...professional, courteous, and prompt. They were able to arrange for Avi to meet me at work to have keys made on the spot. This is the guy. We were stuck. 11 hours from home on a Sunday. My wife called at 6:30 in the morning and Avi stayed until 4 solving our problem, yet he still charged only what he quoted over the phone. We lost the last key to our Sequoia - which is notoriously hard to replace according to all the stories on the net. We could have been stranded for days, paid for a tow to the dealership, and paid up to $1,400 to replace the computer and keys. He stuck with us until the problem was solved. Even with a tip (less than he deserved but all the cash I had in my pocket) it was a small fraction of the dealership price and it was done on site by someone who truly cares about his work. No need to call anyone else! 2002 Jetta without a key. A simple phone call and he came to me in Middletown and delivered exactly as the website describes. No haggling, no bait and switch, no scam, no difficulties at all. Created a new key and reprogrammed car in 30 minutes. And, at a price that beat the dealer price. And, it was the same price he quoted on the phone. It could not have been more simple and I could not be more pleased! Honest businessmen like this should prosper and thrive. I called one other locksmith and they would not tell me what it would cost until the technician was here. Like others who have posted, I was blindly looking for a locksmith for a replacement key for my 2005 Lexus. I was starting to think I was going to have to go to a dealer, and I knew the cost would be off the charts. The ONLY locksmith I found after many calls who could do the work was Avi. He laser cut a key I got from Amazon, and gave me a very fair price for the service. Then, knowing that I likely would struggle to actually code the key, programmed it for me...at no cost. Simply put, Avi knows his stuff, and the wall of keys at his shop suggests there is no car key he can't help you with! Top Notch! I live in Fort Thomas and was going to drive to Sharonville to get a fob & key made but Leah said Avi could meet me off the AA and save me a drive and avoid a local call fee. So I met him there and found his van. Very nice logos on the side and wow, you would not believe how clean and organized his van is. This guy is meticulous and has everything you could possibly need to make any key or fob! He is smart and really knows what he is doing. He did a great job, showed me how his equipment worked and how the electronics in my keys worked. He only charged me $175 for 2 Fob/Keys for my 2004 Accord. What a deal. I managed to lose not just one but two sets of keys. I tried a number of places and was told without the original key there was nothing they could for me. My final option I thought was to have my car towed to the dealership and pay a ton of money. This changed when my husband sent me the link for Automotive Key. I called in the morning, got an all-inclusive quote to replace my car keys, and they came out the same day. Very polite the whole way around. I'm a klutz and I've had to get car keys replaced before - the last shop sprung a $200 coding fee on me when they came out and had already opened the car, which they also charged for. Automotive Key didn't mess around, and used what looked like OEM Toyota keys too. Their rates also beat the dealership, and I didn't have to get a tow anywhere!
