Ordered a rebuilt head for our 944 back in January. Turned out they did not have one readily available. After a few issues with the machine shop and parts availability issues. They were able to get the correct head rebuilt and shipped out. It looks great and can't wait to get it installed on the car. I felt like we were able to come to an acceptable agreement on the price increase and I think they may have even broken even on the final price. Searched for a 944 sun shade, and their site guided me to a 911 sun shade, so i figured it must be compatible. Ordered first week of September, and it took two months for the shade to arrive. It didn't fit properly. Employees blame me for the error, and refuse to accept a return. Now I've learned I could order the actual correct sun shade directly from Covercraft (AutoAtlanta gets it from them anyway) for $50 cheaper. Avoid these guys if you can, as they have shown they don't care about customer service. read more

Ordered a regulator for my Porsche. It did not fit. George claimed that it did, so I sent photos proving that it did not fit. They gave me an RA and I returned it. They sent another one that looked exactly like the one I returned and it (not surprisingly) didn't fit, either. For several months, I have called and emailed for an RA but they haven't had the courtesy to respond at all. I've bought several items from them over the last 15 years and it's sad that they feel the need to stiff me for $75. Things must be tough in Atlanta. read more

Called the next day to inquire and was told they received the order, all in stock, should get them in 6 days? Got them in 7 days USPS in a envelope. Why so long? and why 12 bucks? I found AA while searching for parts sources to restore the 914 I bought new in 1970. I find the factory diagrams on the site especially helpful. Rather than staring at a page of o rings and seals without any idea of which I needed I could follow the diagrams to learn the exact parts needed to fix a small leak at the speedo drive. I tried to purchase a NOS/OEM Cat Converter which he is selling on ebay for roughly $59. I purchased the cat convert via eBay, and paying with Paypal. (they were no help). Somehow AutoAtlanta shipped the part to my old address (Boston MA) but I now live in Sacramento CA. I immediately saw the problem and contacted Auto Atlanta. Unfortunately, they had already boxed and shipped the package. FedEx still had the Cat Conv in transit. I asked Auto Atlanta to re-route the package (at my expense). They told me, to "go by my old address and grab it." Laughing, I told them, apparently you didn't notice my old address is over 3,000 miles away. At this point I asked AutoAtlanta to re-route the package (again). I warned AA that as the receiver of the package I can not do anything. FedEx said to "ask the sender to contact us". Yet again I asked AA, at which point they said they would "take care of it" I then waited a week to reach back out to them, (FedEx at this point had delivered the package) I then reached out to AA again, ignored... I reached out to AA yet again, at which point they told me they had shipped it to the address which was in my eBay profile. (not sure how, as I often order from eBay and they all seem to make there way to Sacramento just fine) I told AutoAtlanta that I have purchased from them many times over many years and that they were throwing away my business over $60! AutoAtlanta was recommended by a friend and Porsche Technition. I could not believe how affordable OEM Porsche Parts were. The website is user friendly, even for someone like me with no mechanical background. The ordering process is straight forward, click the year and model, find the part(s) you're looking for using diagrams and add to cart. Shipping charges are reasonable and my order shipped within a 7 days which was great considering I ordered about 70 pieces ranging from brake parts to screws and plastic trim pieces. One of the brake pad boxes (inside another box) came open during shipping and I wasn't comfortable using them so I called AA, they accepted return with no problem and refunded approximate amount. I admit being hesitant to order AA because if the negative reviews I read on review platforms and forums but those are years old and I trust my tech friend would not tell me wrong and it worked out great! It's about time there is a reputable, OEM Porsche Parts supplier to compete with dealership so they can realize they are not the monopoly anymore and we have other options. I recently ordered a gas cap for a Porsche Cayenne. I knew that the replacement was from Gates, but the advertised picture looked to be identical. However, the part arrived and did not have the tether like the Porsche part has; the original tether had broken and that was the reason I ordered a new one. AutoAtlanta verified that the Gates part does not have the tether pictured, but did offer to refund my money. They also issued a call tag to cover the return shipping. Ordered and received 9 clutch pressure plate bolts. One had a 12 point head (correct for the 944 Turbo being worked on) but 8 bolts had a torks head. I will not mix bolts especially in deep dark places where I will likely have to re-visit, so the 8 new bolts are a waste. read more

I had dealings with them 20+ years ago when I bought my first 914 and thought i'd give them a try again. I have not done business with them over that time due to customer service problems. My latest experience was no better. After the first order I had problem with a $3 clamp they sent, I sent them a note saying in the next order please throw in this clamp. I did order more parts, but along with the clamp I got a side cover (which i didn't order) that i was charged $50 for. I called them and got an ok to return it. Today I got a credit not for $50 but instead for $20. Another phone call and i was told "don't worry the WHOLE credit didn't process yet". I asked why for one part there were two separate credits required. I was told to wait. ARGGHHHH! read more

They sent me a card asking for this review, so here it is. I have ordered quite a number of items from them over the last 6 months. Their shipping costs are so variable, and inconsistent, but as I am buying parts for a much older vehicle (928), I am only able to find certain things from them, so go with it. I have had issues with them telling me my card is not working, or that items they say they had, are now on back order, but overall not too bad. I did try to cancel one order as I had forgotten something, and one item had been delayed. I sent an email to tell them this, but they didn't cancel it and I ended up with duplicate items, at, yes - duplicate cost! If they sort out their own payment system, and read their customers emails more closely, then they would be a great outfit, but ..meh, I've experienced better.... read more

I ordered an Oil Pressure sending unit for my 914. They sent the wrong one. When I called, they said that the wrong ones were in their bin so it was their fault and that I should send the wrong one back and they would send me the correct one. They sent me the correct one but charged my credit card a second time. I called a couple of weeks later to have the second charge removed. They again said that it was their fault and that they would remove the second charge, but they never did. I got charged twice for 1 part with them admitting to 2 mistakes in the transaction. I paid the postage for the return. It took almost a month to get credit on my card and they deducted 20% restocking fee and ignored the freight I paid. I called and they told me to stick it. Unfortunately a very negative buying experience for what should have been a simple and inexpensive transaction. Before purchasing 914 trunk hinge pivot kits (and hinges) I took the time to call the clerk and confirm that the hinges, which were also pictured in the ad, were part of the kit. I needed a hinge as well as the pivot kits. I purchased the item with the assurances of the clerk on the phone that the hinges were part of it. Alas the parts arrived without the promised hinges. When I called back an older gentlemen tried to convince me I didnt really need an actual hinge (mine is damaged) but if I did he would "ship me one for free" as they "have hundreds of them". Needless to say I did in fact need a hinge. But when I called back of course the free hinge offer was no longer on the table. So I purchased one. When it arrived it turns out they only sell used ones (which they didnt disclose) and...they sent the hinge for the wrong side. They promised to next day air the correct hinge. 5 days later still nothing. And they've billed me for both hinges. I'm assuming I pay for the return shipping, Auto Atlanta? Old Porsche parts are tough to find but there are other vendors. This was a complete clown show that discourages even the most patient buyer and enthusiast from doing business with them. Im at the beginning of a restore on a car that I have owned for 22 years and they will lose all of my business over "new" trunk hinges and truly disappointing customer interaction. read more

I simply can't complain. I've been a customer of AA since 1990! That's 26 years as of right now so I can't say a single bad thing. George and I go way back and although we know each other simply professionally he has introduced me to important Porsche connections and helped me with difficult situations pertaining to difficult restorations that he personally has had a TON of experience in. I know no-one who has the type of 914 collection that he has on display there at his business (hopefully it's still here!). It has been a long time since I've been out there but it was my first stop when I was stationed at Fort Benning, GA for Jump School. I just have simply been buying parts from AA and getting help here (free help, free advice, free knowledge) since I was a young boy; not even old enough (legally) to drive my 914's. I have great memories and perhaps others (certainly not all) have been really rubbed the wrong way...it happens. I have been too at other business...but George is a 914 friend of mine. Do I know him? Not personally but he has been a great mentor and the parts I've been able to acquire over the years and the great conversations are simply more important to me than money or gold. I truly do feel for anyone who hasn't had this same experience and exchange. The best thing ever was waling up to that glass case when I was 21 and seeing the only US speck 916 for the first time...the one I had the Road & Track article of since 13 years old. That's worth a lot of stars right there. Call me sentimental. And George if on the off chance you do actually read these I remember when you offered to build 914-6's for people for a very reasonable price in the 1990's. It was around $9000 if I'm not mistaken. I really wonder how many of those are still on the road...To, me, this was the first I had ever seen 914's taken very seriously (I'm sure it was all over the world in vintage racing and with purists but without the internet there wasn't much info for a small farm boy like me).
