After their "diagnostic," I was told my rotors were warped and agreed to repairs totaling about $2,200, believing they had actually identified the problem I came in for. They didn't. The original noise, wobble, and vibration were still there. I brought the car back, and suddenly they discovered that my driveshaft was completely loose--and now I'm being quoted another $1,500+ just for the part. How does a shop perform a diagnostic for noise, wobbling, and vibration and completely miss a major driveline issue? I spent thousands of dollars based on their diagnosis, the actual problem was never fixed, and now I'm expected to spend thousands more for something that should have been identified the first time. At this point, I feel completely taken advantage of. I would not trust this shop with another repair.

I really appreciated their honesty--they didn't try to oversell or make false promises, but they were confident in their assessment and solution. I first made the mistake of taking it to a AAA shop where, for $120, they told me nothing was wrong with my engine. A friend told me about Optimum and when I arrive the proprietor got in the car with me for a test drive. He experienced the issue and right away the said he knew what was wrong, and he was correct, I had a defective ignition coil. Now my car runs as great as ever. I also ask for them to do an oil change, but I was informed that my oil still looked good and recommended against it. How many places do you know that will turn down business? My car has a new doctor and it is Optimum Auto Repair.

I never had that issue until I became a regular customer for services. First, I paid no mind to the phone not connecting right away because eventually, it did. Upon a random visit out of a total of 12 for services, I noticed the issue again in addition to trouble connecting to my playlists until it eventually picked up. I felt they would not owe up to it despite having the obvious of the mechanic. Next visit to the shop, the plugin was practically loosened; a fix that had to be done at the infotainment center who did the install. Case in point: when I come to a mechanic shop, I expect to have the car serviced without tinkering with anything outside of scope. As I said, I know they won't owe up to screwing with my infotainment system which has nothing to do with auto repairs such as alternators, battery installations, fluid checks, etc but I am aware that the issue stemmed from the mechanics there. Lastly, I agree with a lady customer, who sat in the waiting area in tears about pricing concerns for a repeated issue,, who didn't understand the need for a $100+ diagnostic practically every trip or within the same year or quarter of the last. I don't see that as reasonable other than a grab at additional money given this economy. I would suggest that every customer keep a record of every transaction done to support their concerns, mechanical repair costs, etc. There may be the likelihood of haggling once you bring your vehicle in for that repair or a mechanic assigned to your car doing workarounds to stay at cost determined by a diagnostic. Although there may be a good mechanic there; which is a saving grace for the location, there are some who shouldn't be allowed to touch anyone's car. I had to return my vehicle twice on the same issue until the one mechanic who can fix the issue was the one who did. The customer service is fine despite no longer ever seeing Diamond and I think Vanessa, a pretty blonde, at the location. They may had their reasons for leaving. However, the overall mechanic team can be a risky story. I do believe when I find another independent, I may have to resort to going there to spare the risk of something truly going afoul at this one. The mechanic that can actually fix cars may not be the one assigned to mine.

They stated multiple times over the years that their "classic car guy" was an expert and could handle a classic car. For the first 5 years of living in atlanta, I took my classic mercedes here until they finally told me their classic car guy was leaving and they wouldn't touch my car going forward. Frankly, they did 5 years of changing my oil and nothing else but they'd charge me for what they called "regular maintenance". Regular maintenance on a classic car should include a lot more than just topping up the oil and calling it a day, but every time I'd mention knocking noises or brake issues or anything else to them, they wouldn't address it at all so I had no idea if they thought it was an issue or didn't. Finally 5 years later, thank god their classic car guy left, because I took it over to a place in Decatur and all of the things I had been worried about, they found a reason, they gave me a full breakdown online of what they recommended and why, they answered all of my questions, and I could pay the invoice online and feel good about it. Update: As of 9:30 p.m., Jacob, the owner, repeatedly called and texted me after my review. He first falsely claimed I'd only visited once four years ago, then offered to pay me, which I refused. After that, he pulled up what he claimed were years of invoices that were not real, despite the fact that I have the original receipts for my own transactions. Even after I repeatedly told him to stop contacting me, he continued until I had to block his number. Based on both my experience and his behavior afterward, I would never recommend this business.

I have ran multiple shops my self and it is ran very well with the exception of Jenny b, her ego is is up there as well. like she is better then everyone else thats why I had to get involved with the owner the inspection process was spot on and so was the repair process on my valve cover leak if I had anything to criticize it would be find a new service manager shes a great person but I over heard a conversation about another customer and how she talked down on them because they didn't get approved for the 3rd party financing options... once I got ahold of the owner he assured me it would be handled.. all in all it was a great experience and the technicians where amazing.
