Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience here. Prior to scheduling the work, I sent the following email outlining exactly what I wanted installed on my 2014 four-door Jeep Wrangler: "I have a 2014 four-door Jeep Wrangler that I am looking to upgrade and wanted to see if you are able to support the following installations: * A rearview mirror with an integrated backup camera. We are interested in the Echomaster part number MRCHDDVRJW, which tilts downward when reversing to assist with parking. * Upgrading the headlights to LED units. * Replacing the factory radio with a modern flat-screen system that supports Bluetooth, USB connectivity, wireless music streaming, and phone-based navigation. If you are able to complete these upgrades, please let me know your availability and provide an estimated cost for the full scope of work and parts so we can move forward with scheduling a time to install." I received the following email response confirming they could provide an equivalent solution for the camera: "Hey Justin, The Rydeen works the same way as well. It gives you a different angle when in reverse. I would have to order a few parts, and get you scheduled the week after Christmas. Let me know if this will work for you." Based on that email confirmation, I dropped my Jeep off in the morning for installation. When I picked up the vehicle, I immediately noticed that the camera does not tilt or change angle at all. It is a stationary camera. In addition, the camera is not properly secured. Any bump in the road causes it to point downward, making it impossible to see behind the vehicle. As a result, the rearview mirror is essentially unusable, which creates a safety concern. They also installed a radio, but it does not support wireless phone connectivity for displaying maps or navigation. When I brought this up, I was told that upgrading to that capability would cost an additional $1,500. This was never discussed prior to installation. The radio has no front-facing USB ports. The only USB connection was routed into the glove box. The expectation appears to be running a cable out of the glove box door, which is not practical. The USB connection is also not secured and frequently falls behind the glove box, requiring me to retrieve it repeatedly. Jeep dashboards have designated locations for properly mounted USB ports, which would have been a much cleaner and more functional solution. I also had to bring the vehicle back a second day because they did not have all the required wiring components to connect the steering wheel controls. I was only informed of this when I picked up the vehicle on day one, which required me to miss work again. Overall, the final installation did not align with what was represented in the emails. Several features were misrepresented, communication around capabilities and costs was lacking, and the installation quality did not meet expectations. Unbelievable serivce. Years ago, I bought backup cameras for both our oldish vehicles from Auto Xtras. Both work great but the SUV's camera came loose and I couldn't tighten it. I think the Curbside Pickup stores' staffs may have dislodged it trying to figure out how to open a Lexus SUV rear door. The camera is particularly important to this vehicle as it has never found a fire hydrant it didn't like -- or planter, or stone wall, or.... I drove the 1 1/2 hours to my appointment, waited a little over an hour for the tech to go into the door and tighten whatever, plus check out the whole system. No charge! This store goes beyond servicing what they sell, and for anything they sell, I'd make the drive to AutoXtras on San Pedro. They're special. Thank you. read more

My Mercedes Benz dealer quoted between $1200 and $1400 to replace the navigation screen in my 2014 GLK350 (with new parts of course). I therefore waited and waited. Finally found a (somewhat scratched) screen from a wrecked version of the same car on ebay. It was difficult to find someone to even try to replace it due to Mercedes-Benz security codes etc. But auto xtras stepped right up. Scheduled a 3 hour apt but done in 2. Its perfect! Auto Xtras is reputable business offering a variety of aftermarket services for cars and trucks.!Unfortunately, with me however, they over-promised and under-performed. When I called for a quote, I explained that the existing tint on the rear glass had bubbled badly and needed to be replaced. I didn't know what condition the other window tint was, so I asked how much it would cost to replace the other windows as well. I also wanted an auxiliary port/cable installed in the existing base model radio. I explained over the phone that on the dash, there was a button for an auxiliary connection, but no port. "No problem, they could do it," he said, and I was told over the phone that replacing all the tint and adding an AUX would cost around $300 total. On the appointed morning, I dropped my car off at 9am, and an employee came out and looked at the tint with me. He said the other windows looked fine, and that they would replace the rear tint and work on the AUX port, although they might need to order a part. At 12:30pm they called me and said the tint was done, but I'd have to order a special module to run an AUX through the stock radio that would cost $150 plus labor, bringing the total cost to $250. When I arrived and talked to the employees they said they didn't even know if the special module would work, and that I would have to come back so they could look at it again. I wasn't happy about the idea of coming back because I'd already given them 4 hours of my time to get the job done. When I asked why I needed to come back, they made excuses that they were "slammed" and that "even the owner was working!" I also expressed my concern that the tint they replaced already had bubbles in it, but I was assured they would go away in, one person said 2-3 days, and another said 2 weeks. At least it's covered by a 5 year warranty. They charged me $153 plus tax to replace the tint on one window. This seemed high, so when I asked about the price, they said I was quoted the price for new tint, without the $50 stripping fee. But the numbers still don't add up. How could I be quoted $300 for 5 windows plus an AUX install, and pay $150 for one window tint replacement? This was not a pleasant experience for me and I think Auto Xtras needs to work on their customer service skills. Their sales people are over-confident. If they had done a little research, like calling the dealership before I dropped my car off, I would have expected less and maybe gotten a clearer quote on the work that was to be done. I feel frustrated because I gave up an entire morning and part of an afternoon for very little work done on my vehicle plus a hefty charge at the end of it that wasn't explained up front. read more

Had problems with my backup camera that another shop installed. They quickly rewired it. About a month later I had another problem where the backup camera wasn't working and they quickly fixed it in less than 30 minutes and they would not take a dime for the repair even though I offered. I am not knocking Auto Xtras for their product, their install, or their friendliness. I am knocking them for their communication. I stopped in on Friday, chose my product, and set an appointment for the following Monday for install. They said the install would take about 1 1/2 hours. I left my vehicle with them and went to work. I called at noon, figuring to pick it up over lunch. I was told they were still working on it. I dropped by around 4 pm when I got out of work, and they still weren't complete. I was told then, they were working 'working me in' because I didn't have an appointment. I believe this was an attempt to appease me because I did make the appointment and if I didn't have an appointment, why didn't they say something when I dropped it off? I know why; because I did have an appointment, either the front desk didn't communicate with the install or they blatantly lied to me. I left the vehicle overnight and agreed to pick it up the next morning at 9:30. I arrived at 9:30 am and it still was not complete. The front desk was unaware because they walked me out to demonstrate the new product, only to discover my dash was still taken apart. The folks in the back said they were waiting on a call from the factory support to clarify an issue. All this is acceptable if they had simply given me a call and said they were having technical issues and would call with updates. I wasted a couple of hours running back and forth and most notably the front desk wasn't kept informed by the install guys. I'd give them a 0 for internal and external communications. I want a quality product with expert install....I believe they deliver that. I deserve simple communications. Why have an agitated & frustrated customer when all it takes is a simple phone call? Poor client relationship management in my opinion. read more

Scheduled a time to get windows tinted and was told that it would take 30-45 minutes. After sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes my vehicle hadn't even moved. Then I was told it would be at least another hour to get it done. These guys are salesmen and nothing more.
