The shop guy told me to come back after a few hundred miles to get the bolts re-torqued. Took our Tahoe in to get fender work done/trimmed for the lift that was installed. Drove it to eat, and then home. Felt something in wheel but couldn't figure it out. My wife almost got in accident next day with our 4 kids and was left stranded and found the lugnuts on front driver side to be all very loose. I contacted restaurant and there was no footage of tampering with lugnuts. Very concerened that it accidentally happened at the shop, I sent out contact emails to try and get at the bottom of it and got no response. The owner Jason called me later and said he watched video from inside the shop that the lugnuts were never touched. I will never know what happened. I have been dealing with Black Jack Speed Shop for a long time. On this truck build it has been the worst service that I have seen. I had the shop in New Braunfels put a 3" lift and new wheels and tires on my 2024 GMC 2500 Denali Ultimate. The lift up front was making a noise when you would hit a bump, and also when I pulled into an incline drive it would rub on the front fender, so I called back to the shop, and they asked me to bring it back. I did, and was told that they just needed to re-torque the lift. Next day same stuff, and when I tried calling the salesman as always he didn't answer, and never returned my call. I took the truck to my regular mechanic to look at the truck, and he said it looks like the front passenger shock valve is bad, and that was the noise I was hearing. Since I didn't get a return call from the NB shop I called the other shop on Huebner to see what they could do since it is the corporate shop. The sales guy and I talked about 4" lifts to see if that fix the issue, and give me the stance that I wanted. The truck in the front was an inch lower than the back. Got my truck back after spending $ 5,450.00 to only notice that the front still looked to be lower than the back. I make a comment about it, and everyone acted like I was crazy. A couple days later I had the opportunity to look at the truck and take some measurements. The truck still sits the same 44" in the front and 45" in the rear as when the first lift that they pulled off was sitting. I asked why I paid $ 5,450.00 only to have my truck still sitting them same. The salesman said "I sold you what you asked for". Billy at Black Jack Speed Shop took care of me and my 2022 Corvette Stingray in Red Mist metallic tint coat, I first spoke to him from anybody else at this shop and he Met and Exceeded my needs which were to get my radar detector installed on a 1LT which Is difficult thru the back of the mirror and they pulled it off with the magic of Jack who worked on my car, then they powder coated my ugly light grey factory wheels a high gloss black metallic and installed a Blue Attack air filter and finally my Corsa Extreme cat back muffler delete with AFM valves and That was my Favorite mod to the car because Now it sounds like a Real F1 Supercar !!! Great Management of operations. I came to Black Jack this morning around 10:30 ish. Understand my wait would be long. The brake area is closed, with a sign that said "This Room is Closed". So I stood around till about 1PM. Mr. Billy recommended that I go across the street to Bisque restaurant because it would be a while. After returning to Black Jack I noticed there was a gentleman sitting in the waiting area that was closed off. I went to talk to Mr. Billy about the situation. Afterwards I was approached by one of the owners and he apologized for the whole situation. I really don't know if anyone could really understand how important that was for me, for the management team to come talk to me about something small to some Big to me. It's not a speedshop. Blackjack only does lifts and vinyl wraps (which they outsource). They will also quote different people different prices for the same work. It's an overpriced glorified discount tire Don't trust anyone at this wheel and tire shop. But they have Tim Duncan omg it has to be good. Don't be dumb San Antonio. The employees send their own cars to another shop for dynos, tunes, etc. The Glenn guy had his car at jms for work and he runs Blackjack. read more

There was an aftermarket dual-exhaust system installed on my 4x4 Tundra CrewMax. The dealership wouldn't touch it and when I called BlackJack, they were more than accommodating and scheduled an appointment to take a look at it right away--even though they did not perform the original install. Turns out, it was pieced together with some modifications and welding that weren't supportive enough to hold the weight of the tailpipes. Blackjack patched it up and installed a bracket that lasted for awhile but with the weight of the exhaust (and my girlie driving... :)), it came loose again. Twice this happened and BJ was gracious enough to take my truck in and fix it each time it happened--at no cost. After realizing this wasn't going to work, I returned to BJ to order a new MagnaFlow exhaust system and install it on my truck. I was so impressed with their customer service ethic that I didn't hesitate to also have them order and install a BDS suspension lift, Fuel wheels, and 35" Toyo M/T Mud Terrain tires. They also price matched the lift and parts. Their prices are extremely competitive, their products are trusted name brands, and they stand behind their work. Alas, my truck was approaching 50K miles, so I traded up to a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited last year. I purchased the Jeep with the lift and accessories already installed by the dealer's outfitters, so I was a little uneasy not knowing much about the integrity of the install. Again, even though BJ didn't install it they willingly, and without question, were able to check the alignment and the aftermarket lift that was installed on the Jeep. They also caught that the factory lug nuts were erroneously installed on the Fuel wheels the outfitters placed on there and were stripping them due to incompatibility, so they replaced them with spline lug nuts and also rotated the tires--all at an extremely reasonable cost. I also recently got rear ended and was able to get in and out quickly for an estimate for the rear bumper with no appointment needed. Since the parts were all custom parts, I preferred to have BJ handle my claim, rather than put it in the hands of the dealer. I really appreciate the fact that I'm a female and I can walk in here (and not know a whole lot about all the inner-workings of my vehicle) and they don't try to take advantage or talk down to me because I'm not a car guru. They go above and beyond and raise the bar when it comes to valuable service. As long as I have a vehicle, I will be coming back to BlackJack for all my customization needs. read more

I've had two dealings with the Blackjack in my truck-driving history. The first was in my 2014 F-150 where I had Line-X sprayed in the bed. The second was in my current F-150 where I had a deer guard, running boards, Rhino liner (they no longer do Line-X) and a trailer hitch installed. I have to say, while I didn't get back double my money, I did drive away with extremely quality work. I will pretty much leverage these guys whenever I need something done to my truck. read more

I'm new to the after market world of trucks, but I can say these guys have made it pretty easy and have educated me a lot on all the aftermarket parts. I've mainly dealt with Glen the GM only because I initially talked to him through an email consult and he seems like a straight shooter. They've installed a 6" bds suspension lift on my 14 silverado and some other accessories not performance related. I did have some ball joint issues which they weren't sure were lift related or not but they were willing to break it down and take a look knowing the repair may end up going through warranty work at Gunn. Actually going in this morning to have a tonneau cover installed . Sure it's easy enough to do myself , but I trust these guys and their prices are solid so I have no problem giving my money to them. Small extra: I will be having some exhaust work done and I have no problem going to them for this. read more

It isn't a speed shop. I went there to get my heads o-ringed and they told me they don't do that. They don't do any speed shop work. They sell tires and rims which is probably most of their business. Where to start. First off . . I have emails to validate all these claims. For over 4 months asked them to return my stock wheels on two vehicles they did for me. After finally making a big deal about it, they gave me 2 sets of wheels that were NOT from my vehicle(s). Obviously they sold my wheels out the back door and pocketed the cash. Next they told my employees I owed them for a wheel that I never paid for. When I confronted them about invoice. Magically a bill shows up the NEXT day dated the SAME day my guys went to pickup my stock wheels. (dated 3 months after they said I owed the money). The wheel they stuck me with a bill with did NOT match the other 3 wheels. So I use that wheel as a spare. My lift was not installed properly. Had to take to another ship to fix a part they put in backwards. Don't walk run from this place. I can prove all my claims with email trails asking for my wheels on multiple occasions. And an email asking for proof that I owed them for a damaged wheel. I paid it just so I could get my other wheels back. Basically held hostage to buy a wheel that did NOT match my other wheels. read more

Manager did not know about his own products - i gave him my number and he never called, i called again to inquire again about these rims(one of the only dealers to sell this brand of rims) never returned call. the place looks professional -but if you not there to spend $$$$ right then and there, forget it - very rude - very judgemental - & stereotypical.i didnt look like i had deep pockets so they assumed i didnt have money. I made an appointment with BlackJack Speed Shop to get a Stage 2 Performance upgrade on my car. Days before the appointment I wanted to confirm that all parts were ordered because I did not want to take a needless trip across town to have the shop state they could not tune my car because of parts not being available. Every time I called, the technician was not available, and was told every time, he would call back when he got back into the office; this never happened. So I went into the shop after work one day; and guess what, the technician was not there. The day of my appointment, I called again to see if everything was good to go, after playing phone tag and again being told that the technician would call be back in 5 minutes. Needless to say, 5 minutes turned 45 minutes. My appointment time has passed, with no phone call, or any form of communication. This form of customer service is unacceptable. Now I see why the tuning aspect of San Antonio is dead. I guess I will drive to Houston and give my money to someone else. read more

So far nothing but issues with my 2016 Tacoma, Purchased from Universal Toyota w/lift kit, wheels & tires package with all work being performed at Black Jack on Huebner. Initially they took on the job without having the correct lift kit, They used 2015 lower control arms in order to accommodate the kit they had. They were instructed to hold on to my 2016 arms and return them to me in case of a change down the road, well they were tossed out. I experienced a steering wheel vibration and took the truck to Toyota, Toyota made an effort to road force balance the wheels and tires, but couldn't, Toyota thought is was a tire issue. Truck went to BJ for warranty work, they claim poor balance on Toyotas part. Went to pick up the truck, all the wheels were scratched. BJ blamed Toyota, so Toyota bought all new rims and had BJ mount & balance them. Picked up the truck from BJ, exact same vibration as before. Once again back to Toyota, straight back to BJ I35, who then sent it to BJ Huebner, replaced both front tires, Mount & balanced, and check alignment. Back to Toyota, and before leaving I did a visual inspection and noticed the left front wheel is scratched I reported it to the Service Director. I took possession of the truck and test drove. The vibration is no longer present, smooth as glass, but I noticed the leather portion of my steering wheel is now scratched. Talked to Mike at BJ Huebner, denies all responsibility and blamed Toyota again. If the owner saw how his customer were being treated by his business managers he probably would replace the staff. As of now, I have a very negative impression of what Black Jack's capabilities are, as for the customer service, even worse. Black Jack claims they do no wrong, but lets be honest, we are all human, mistakes will be made from time to time. Owning up to our mistakes, and making a genuine effort to correct them is how we become good people and a better society. I hope Black Jack will stand up and do the right thing, but at this time, I seriously doubt it. Update... They did nothing and claimed no responsibility. Thank God for the good folks at Universal Toyota service & parts dept. who once again went above and beyond to replace the rim for me. read more

This San Antonio auto performance shop, owned by San Antonio Spurs basketball player Tim Duncan, hit the ground running!! From the day they opened to now, they have been customizing high end cars, hot rods, and luxury vehicles. They do a lot of business with the local auto dealerships, and do special custom jobs for new cars. They are great, down to earth, car folks!! Jason Pena, Tim's business partner, is very customer service oriented. He has made it clear to everyone that has approached him, that this speed shop is for all car people! I have personally seen some great high end work come out of this shop, and I have also seen them bend over backwards for customers to do what might be considered as routine maintenance. The entire staff seems very knowledgeable and eager to please their customers. They have graciously been the site host for car club meets (MOPAR & Camaro) with excellent turn out. read more

This review is based on my personal experience with Blackjack Speed Shop. I have had nothing but problems since I brought my car to Blackjack. I initially dealt with Mike but then Jason came into the picture and kind of took over the sale. I own a 2016 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport. I spent over $3200 on customization with Blackjack. I painted the rims, grill and accessories gloss black, blacked out all the chrome, put on a rear diffuser, front splitter and a roof wing. I did some research and found basically 3 shops in San Antonio area for auto customization that I would prefer. Concours Auto Salon with a 4.9 rating, Performance HQ with a 3.7 rating and Blackjack Speed Shop with a 3.9 rating. I ended up selecting Blackjack. I brought the car in on Monday Aug 28th, 2017 at 0900 and dropped it off. When I dropped it off, I asked about how long it would take. I was "assured" and told "no problem" that it would be done by Friday Sep 1st, 2017. That was fine with me as I had already arranged the use of a 2nd vehicle for that week. The entire week went by and I received no phone calls or emails on Friday as to a status of my car. I called on Friday around 4 PM asking what is going on and Mike told me that the car is not done and would not be done for another week. If I didn't call Blackjack at 4PM on Friday, when was Blackjack planning on calling me to inform me that the vehicle was not done?? Or were they just going to keep it the 2nd week and not tell me? As you can assume, this really ticked me off. No phone calls, no emails, no heads up about needing it for another week. Nothing! I had to scramble to arrange to use the 2nd vehicle again for another week. Now we are at the end of the 2nd week on Friday Sep 8th. It is about 5PM, still no phone calls, no emails, no updates what so ever during the week as to the status of my car. I have no idea if they are done or if they still need it longer. So I am debating whether to go up there in person or to wait for a phone call to get a status. Blackjack finally called at 530PM and said it was done. Blackjack should have called on Friday at lunchtime saying we are finalizing everything and will have it ready for you by the end of the day. I arrived and the vehicle did in fact look great. I was told by Jason that they kept the car a 2nd week because they want to make sure it is done right and we don't want you coming back for anything. But the quality of workmanship did not last long at all. I picked it up on Friday Sep 8th as I stated above and by Monday Sep 11th, I had to go back to Blackjack because my roof wing was already coming off. So much for the "make sure it is done right and we don't want you coming back for anything." They "fixed" it on Monday, however by Thursday Sep 14th, it was coming off again. I had to go back a 2nd time for the roof wing repair in less than a week from when I initially picked it up. Don't forget that I paid $3,200 for all of this work. Also, keep in mind that Blackjack business hours are the standards hours (830-6) as most people work and they are not open on Sat/Sun. I had to take off work on 2 separate occasions to get the roof wing fixed and sit at Blackjack for 3-4 hours each time. Now the rear diffuser is coming off in less than 45 days. Again, you can imagine the frustration of having to deal with all these problems when they kept it an extra week from the very beginning to "make sure it is done right." What also kind of ticks me off about the diffuser coming off is that Jason stated, when I was getting the roof wing repaired the 2nd time, that he has done hundreds of diffusers and that is easy install and don't have to worry about that. I had to take off another day of work to go back to their shop to have the diffuser fixed, when the car came out, the diffuser was STILL NOT FIXED, I had to point out that it was still coming off and that they needed to place more rivets into the body molding to ensure it holds. Additionally, I have read this on other people's reviews so I know it has happened to a few people in addition to me; when you call Blackjack, their level of concern, customer service and effort over the phone is terrible. It almost seems as if you are an interruption of their day by calling, much less if you have additional questions. You can just hear it in their tone of voice. But what do you expect, it's a bunch of guys hanging around the shop talking about cars and trucks. As a business you would think that a customer who experiences some sort of problem would be offered compensation due to all the issues that I had. Not just "bring it back." Blackjack offered NOTHING towards my troubles, time, gas, and the back and forth. No discount, I thought I would get better service from a business that our local ICON Tim Duncan owns. These are the fact of what happened and they are undisputed regardless of Blackjack's reply. Do not use Blackjack! read more

Prices were crazy high and they had no knowledge on/about the 370z. I got three estimates on exhaust and air intake and they were the MOST expensive, by a lot. I took my 2012 Jeep Jk in to have Fox 2.0 Fox Performance Shocks and a Skyjacker dual steering stabilizer put on. Glen was the gentleman that I spoke to and he was very knowledgeable with Jeep products. I took it in Friday morning and it was ready by 1pm. Service was quick and I was pleased with the installation. My only complaint was I tried calling a few times to get a quote and the person who I spoke to said they would call me back but I never got a call back. Luckily when I called back I spoke to Glen and he provided me with a quote and they had the parts in by Friday. Overall great service and I will comeback. read more

Beware !!!!!!!! i had my 2020 Gmc Sierra Truck leveled by the Blackjack Speed shop here in New Braunfels it looks great till i noticed a leak of some kind under the truck so i took it back to them and they told me it was my cv boot clamp came undone so they told me they were going to fix it. I took it to the dealer next day to have them to a look at it and the dealer told me they super glue the boot back on the axle lucky my dealer told me they were going to cover it at no cost. Now the only problem is the part is on back order and they don't know when they will have one in. The dealer gave me a loaner unfortunately the car got a door ding on it and now i have to pay for the repair on that car that is going to cost me over a 1000 bucks to fix. I know that part is not on them but i wouldn't be in this situation if they would have fixed it right and let me know that they couldn't fix it the right way. What a shop! This is the last time i bring anything to this shop. looks to me on a lot of people have been having lots of problems at this shop and other blackjack speed shops i will contacting our local new station about the headaches they have been giving people. read more

Be careful when taking a new car to blackjack. They messed up my car's computer, and the kicker is the employee's knew it would happen. They never mentioned the computer problem before the work, but had no problem taking my money. When I returned, they referred me to one of there friends that do computer work at a cost of thousands of $$$. No thanks Timmy. read more

They were given a simple job. Transfer a fifth wheel hitch from one truck to another. The receiving truck required a part that fit into the Dodge puck towing system. According to the dealership that outsourced the job to them Black Jacks ordered the wrong part. So my truck sat for 4 days at Black Jacks North waiting on the parts. When I got my truck back I discovered that they had drilled holes in the bed of my truck! These clowns damaged my truck, didn't tell me they made the mistake and of course didn't offer any type of repair for the damage they caused. I called the day after I got the truck back, talked to the shop manager and was told he would investigate and call me back. A week has gone by and no call. Tim your reputation in the auto business is only as good as your employees and the manager at this shop is certainly failing not only in doing work correctly but damaging customers vehicles on top of dismal customer service! For any future customers you should think twice about using Black Jacks North for any purpose. Auto experts! I don't think so. read more

Bought new wheels online and needed them installed on stock tires. Called all over place and was quoted $99-$168 for installation, (Discount tire) quoted me $168 believe it or not. Called the N I35 location at Gunn, and was quoted $80 without me telling them what prices I've already been quoted. No appointment was needed, walked in, gave em the keys to the car, sat back and spoke with the staff for a bit and had the job done in an hour. Gotta say I love the place. read more
