I definitely recommend Auto Tek for their friendly customer service, reasonable prices, quick turnaround, and honest work. My most recent trip to Auto Tek was truly a pleasure (I know, getting my car worked on isn't something I enjoy normally). I dropped my car off the night before, knowing it would be safe, for a simple oil change. Andreah called me the next morning to say that the oil change was complete, but they noticed a screw in one of my tires and a belt that would soon need replacement. She gave me a very reasonable estimate on the belt and asked if it would be okay if she took my car across the street to Discount Tire so the tire could be repaired free of charge (I purchased the tires at Discount). By the middle of the day the oil was changed, the belt was replaced, and the tire had been repaired by the place across the street - all without me having to do a thing! read more

I am so pleased to be able to review Auto Tek this morning after my older model Honda completely overheated and started smelling like maple syrup. Yep, that smell. French toast-- great for breakfast, not for your car. Auto Tek came recommended to me by a few office colleagues, and I can see why. From the first call, they were polite, warm, friendly, and (most importantly) reassuring. They helped me coordinate a tow to the shop, called me by the end of the day to let me know what was wrong, explained the problems in just the right amount of detail, and answered all sorts of questions when I called them back three times the next morning. Ultimately, I decided that I am going to make repairs myself, but their pricing was fair and they will absolutely be called upon again should I need them for any car issues in the future. I took my 2005 F-150 to Auto Tek for some brake work. I had a couple of quotes from other shops around town ranging from $400-$500 for brakes and rotors. Auto Tek checked everything out and said that I had a few more years left on the pads. The front rotors were warped but that if I could live with the vibration there was no real reason to get them replaced. They didn't charge me a dime. They get all my future business. read more

Great service! I brought my car here after the Kia dealership tried to tell me I needed a $700 repair. Auto Tek determined the problem and told me it should be covered under warranty or recall. Unfortunately, the recall was for a different version of my car. But after going back and forth with Kia for 3 weeks, they finally covered it under warranty. These guys are so polite, so organized, and SO HONEST it's hard to believe. They took me through everything they found on my Mazda 5 and told me what needed to be done, what I could safely wait on without damaging the vehicle or risking drivability, and even dropped me off at my house and picked me back up so I didn't have to wait. I've had my share of experiences with Mechanic Shops and AutoTek BY FAR were the most pleasant to work with. Aaron is primarily the guy who helped me and was knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, fair, and undeceiving. Many mechanics I've worked with refused to take the time to try and explain to me what EXACTLY the issues were...they used vague terms and were rude. Auto Tek did exactly the opposite. Everyone has experienced that gut feeling when you just don't feel like you're being treated genuinely and might be being taken advantage of....well I didn't have that at any moment with these guys! I came to them with a suspected issue of my engine (cracked head gasket) and after confirming it , they gave me an offer. I checked with about 8 other local shops in ATX and no one else even came close to their quote or presentation. Matter of fact, some that I called just based on the conversation I had deterred me from even considering them; With me, it's all about customer service baby...making me feel comfortable! Unfortunately , some business owners have no damn idea what that means. Anyhoo, it took em about a week (which is exactly how long they said it would) and since the repair my trucks been running like a champ. I received a follow up call from the shop letting me know that if I had any concerns to give them a buzz. It's a good feeling to know I've found a mechanic I can trust. I went to Auto Tek because I got a free oil change through their Belly customer loyalty program. I'd never been there before, and was pleasantly surprised by how clean and nicely decorated their waiting room and reception area are. More like a doctor's office than any mechanic shop I've ever been in. My oil change took about 30 minutes, I think, and the guy at the front desk was quite pleasant. Despite giving away an oil change, they didn't try to upsell me to any of their services (unlike other places--Jiffy Lube always finds something they want to replace at a high cost), but did advise I go get new tires from Discount Tires or Firestone. I cannot speak highly enough about Auto Tek. To begin with, every time I call, there is always someone friendly answering the phone and providing me with quick scheduling services or answering other questions I may have. They are prompt and always willing to work out details with me. But most importantly, I feel I can trust Auto Tek because, more than once, the person explaining what my truck needs has been honest with me at their expense. For example, I was under the impression I had to change my oil every 3,000 miles as many other mechanics had informed me to do. It was Aaron over at Auto Tek that explained to me my truck actually only needs to have the oil changed every 5-6,000 miles or so. This is only one example, and I assure you there have been others, when they forewent profit to provide me with knowledge, trust, and impeccable service. It is hard to find good service providers (ie. mechanics, plumbers, electricians, etc.) because we have so few encounters with them and never really know if they are being honest with you. I am so grateful and pleased that I know I have a good team of mechanics on my side and have for years. I was finally motivated to leave a review after, once again, Aaron was honest in explaining an issue with my truck but admitted I didn't really have to commit to an expensive repair right now because the issue isn't pressing. Upon my daughter's move to another state I joked to the guys at Autotek that they needed to move to her new state and city. Based on my decades of experience dealing with auto service and repair shops Autotek is one of the two best auto service and repair shops I have ever dealt with. (The other one is our local shop in Michigan.) Upon our daughter's arrival in Austin, TX, close to seven years ago, we had to go through the trial and error search for an expert service and repair shop that was honest, fair both before and after the repair work, personable, and centered on their customer's needs and concerns. Luckily, we found Autotek six years ago. One gets to learn more about a shop when in the shop's waiting room for the completion of simple jobs, e.g., an oil change. When listening to the manner the Autotek staff work with each other, with customers both in person and on the phone, and with parts stores when placing orders, you get, I believe, a better sense of the ethos of the shop. And I believe Autotek's is superior. And, just as important as how one is dealt with by the service desk is the end result of whatever service or repair the guys "in the back" do on the car. The work was always completed when promised and done correctly with quality parts. Each "half" of the shop combined to be an outstanding business providing an outstanding customer experience. Prior to driving to her new state my daughter and I took her car to Autotek in order to have them do a preventive maintenance inspection. Upon picking up the car and us informing the guys at the front counter that it was the last time we would be there due to her move they were very gracious and appreciative of my daughter's trust and business with them and wished us both the best. In addition, they told my daughter to feel free to call them if she had any questions about her car or to use them for a second opinion to whatever a repair shop tells her in her new state. As a father I really appreciated the crew at Autotek treating my daughter and I with respect, honesty, and fairness. I highly recommend Autotek and if your daughter or son move to Austin I believe you will not go wrong directing them to Autotek. And if you move to Austin, you will not go wrong with Autotek as your service and repair shop. So, to repeat, and in conclusion, Autotek is one of the two best auto service and repair shops I have ever dealt with during the decades of owning a car while living in several states during my career. read more

I think we all know the apprehension one might feel when looking for an auto repair shop to fix your car. I just had some long standing oxygen censor issues fixed by Auto Tek, Inc. and this was a great experience from beginning to end. I had the advantage of reading the great reviews about this place and here's one more. Aaron was very pleasant (not phony pleasant) and explained to me what my car needed every step of the way. I found him to be knowledgeable and thorough and my car is driving great! Since I had to leave my car overnight because they needed to order a part they even offered to give me a ride home. They have very great customer service. However, their pre-purchase inspection was sub par. I ended up having major repairs done to my car after purchasing it. They inspected it and said it was good. They missed some major stuff. I was even offered a discount on some of labor for the minor repair they found during the inspection. Yet when I asked about it later, the same person couldn't give me a definitive answer on whether he would still honor it. read more

This place could not get better. I've been coming here for three years now. Today, Aaron helped me out big time. I luckily caught my brakes going out just in time. Auto Tek replaced my rotors and brake pads for a reasonable price within a day. They also helped me tighten my spoiler and fix my undercarriage. The reviews are accurate about Auto Tek. These people are reliable, professional and honest. My daughter's car had an ABS brake light coming on and a strange beeping sound every time she turned left. They connected the car to the computer and added brake fluid to her car which fixed the problem. I found Auto Tek via yelp, and was on my way there this morning to get my car inspected on the last day of the month of my car registration sticker expiring, so it was important to have done today. Well, my first mistake was stopping at Jiffylube on the way, only to be told, they weren't doing inspections today, and they pointed me to a nearby place. I drove there, it scared me. It looked like the kind of place that if you jokingly offered to sell your kidney for an expensive repair, they would take you up on it. So I went back to the original plan, and started driving towards Auto Tek. But no, another Jiffylube? Sure, why not. That one was even worse. There were 6 people in line, with no one providing anyone service for about 10 minutes. I was now 2 blocks from Auto Tek, so I decided to stick to the plan this time. From the minute I walked in the service was prompt and warm, and maybe they could read the desperation on my face, but even with only 1 inspection provider on site today, they were able to get me in the queue and taken care of in less than an hour. While waiting, I noticed that everyone that works there seemed genuinely happy. That made the wait much easier. I highly recommend this place! I should've stuck with my original plan from the start this morning and saved myself some time. Do yourself the favor, spare your kidneys, and just go to Auto Tek. read more

Wow this place is great and the reason is honesty. Took my car here for a new driveshaft and paid for the part. The mechanic called me and said it was not the driveshaft and replaced the u joints fixing the problem. After labor was taken out I was refunded money for a part they didn't use. Most shops would of just slapped it in there charged me and called it a day. Also the quality of the work in terms of time and communication with staff.
