My exhaust was the first thing I've had done and I'm scheduled to get my struts and breaks fixed a little later! I just want to start off with how much they are working with me to get these things done. I'm not rich at all and if I had a stable job I would have loved to take them up on there offer with the credit options. But luckily, they know how to prioritize what needs fixing and scheduled me out for when I'll have the money to have those things fixed. Secondly, I want to point out how fast they got the job done! Julie had told me to bring it in so that they could diagnose the problem for me and that they could schedule me next week if I decided to get it fixed with them. Well, sure enough I bought it in on Friday morning, that same morning they were able to tell me what was wrong and the same day they ordered the parts and got it fixed! I literally got my car back at 3pm and genuinely did not expect that! I saw a sign in their shop and it said that they value their time, well I guess they also value everyone else's time too! I don't want to get into the free things that they did for me because I don't want anyone trying to come rip these lovely people off, but I do want to say the things that they did for me, that they had every right to charge me for, has let me know that I'm dealing with some really good people and has made this place my go-to spot! These are good hard working people who respects the customers that comes through their shop, no matter if you have a lot of money or not! The prices are absolutely doable and they don't pressure you if you can't do everything right then in there! Lastly, I just want to point out that I am a single black woman and the reason I bring up my race and gender is because we all know it matters, especially when it comes to mechanics! But Temstad didn't make me feel judged nor taking advantage of whatsoever! They were so welcoming and knowledgeable! Not only did they triple check my car but they explained every decision & priority to me. I really love that they weren't condescending because I don't know a thing about cars. They simply just explained it so I can understand the what and why! Like I said, as long as Temstad is open & will have me, they will now be my go to place!

I greated him, shook his hand and proceeded to tell him what I needed to be done. He immediately looked down at his phone as I was talking and started typing. I started to talk slower since what I needed done was very important to me. He looked up momentarily and started typing again, acting like he was paying attention to me. He finally looked up and said they make $160an hour (which I was well aware), there's no guarantee that they can fix it and if the car has that many continuing issues, I might just want to sell it. This, after spending all that money recently on my car there. A weird and unsympathetic way to deal with a longstanding customer. #SadPerformance

The gas prices can be a little more expensive than other places nearby, and their air pump could use some maintenance, but as far as car service goes, they're wonderful. I went in for my inspection and they were able to get me in first thing the next morning. They were done in about two hours, but it was no problem for me to leave my car there until I was able to pick it up after work. More recently, I was having problems with my check engine light going off and on periodically, so I stopped there on a whim. I told them I'd be happy to leave it or bring it back when it was more convenient for them, but he came out right away to do a quick check. It was nothing serious - he fixed it quickly and talked me through what might've caused it. There was no charge for this and now I can rest easy knowing there's no crazy damage happening inside my car! I've never once felt like I was being cheated out of money or good quality service! I will always go to Park Avenue Garage for my inspections and any time I have questions or need maintenance.
