Called them needing my key fob reprogrammed due to a failed theft attempt. A guy called us to let us know his eta was 45 minutes. An hour went by and nothing. We called the guy back and he said 25 minutes. Waited 30 minutes called him back and he said he wasn't able to come out due to another job. If that were the case not sure why he couldn't have let us know before having us wait 2 hours for nothing. We called the main office again attempting to get someone else sent out instead. The receptionist told us she was going to give us a call back for more help and what do you know, no call received. If they're unable to complete the service due to a heavy schedule that's understandable but they should communicate that so people aren't waiting for someone who isn't planning on showing up. read more

I love going to the shop to get my keys done. I Really enjoy my experience with the lady that works the counter. Service calls. Wow, probably the most difficult process ever. They have two call techs that seem to be clueless and have the shortest memory. It takes legitimately 10 calls back and forth to get a tech scheduled. Everytime we speak on the phone, they totally forget that we spoke 2 minutes earlier. Concerning the techs, they tell me they will arrive in 20 min. I show up 10min early and wait for 10min after the eta. I call in and am told they showed up and left cuz no one was around. What?? Makes no sense. Being in commercial property management, I am not simply hanging around my properties and time is valuable. So if I am told a particular time, I will be there but I can't afford to wait around because the tech decided to change his schedule. Not business/commercial friendly. If you are in residential, it may work because you can hang out at the house. I'll continue to use them to get my keys copied but I will not be using this company for service calls anymore. I dropped my VW FOB and unknown to me, the RFID or immobilizer chip came loose and fell out of the FOB. Called and was VERY happy with the results. In less than 15 mins., my technician put in a new immobilizer and programmed my auto computer to accept the "new" key. I had a rough morning of backtracking over my steps and kicking myself after I discovered a hole in my pocket and realized my keys were maybe somewhere along the path of my morning walk or had maybe been picked up by a stranger. Once I gave up searching and decided to call a locksmith, I was delighted to find Auto Locksmith and Mark. Even though it was a Sunday, he came over quickly and worked through the problem. It was expensive, but roughly what I expected, so the fix was no economic surprise. He also advised that I can make a claim with AAA. I felt bad for Mark because it was a hot day and my car was parked in the direct sun, but he did get some relief in his van's air conditioning while his device talked to the computer in my car to figure out the alarm code. Long review. I called his business because I was trying to save a buck and avoid the dealer. I ordered two keys and two fobs for my Chevrolet Tahoe from a reputable source. All I needed to do was have the two blank keys cut and two fobs programmed. I was told to meet the service person at an address in San Jose and it would be about $130-140 dollars to cut the keys and program the fobs. I traveled from Morgan Hill and met the service person/owner. I handed him two keys to cut; his machine was set to cut the keys he stocks and not mine. First key was ruined, no problem he replaced it. When it was time to program the keys there was an unknown issue with the chips in the keys. He told me he would have to reset the 'immobilizer' in my vehicle, basically wiping out all the keys, including my original, in order to program new keys. Well after that 'reset' my vehicle would not start up again with any of the keys, including my original. Mind you this is now two hours into a process that was supposed to take 15-30 minutes. Now I'm in panic mode because I had to pick up my daughter from school at 2pm in Morgan Hill! I have no vehicle or way to get home. I had to call AAA to pick up my Tahoe, tow it to a nearby dealer, and have the reset issue reversed to have my original key work again. Luckily there was a nearby Enterprise walking distance from the dealer. The owner met me there an paid for the rental car until the dealer resolved my issue. One day later and $300 more my car is finally back on the road. I wasted half a day because I tried to save some money. Beware, you get what you pay for. From now on if I need chipped programmable keys I will get them directly from Chevrolet and not get stranded 25 miles from home. **Owner was not happy with my review, blamed me for bringing my own keys. He texted me saying I was mean and said this would come back and "bite me in the ass." What a horrible way to do business. How about be accountable for your mistake.** He seems to think that by not charging me he was doing me a favor. Ridiculous. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I needed to get a replacement remote key fob for our 2008 Honda Pilot. Dispatch put me in contact with Mary immediately and I had an appointment set and was seen 90 min later. Mary educated me as to what the issues were and what she was trying to do in trying to remake the key. The valet key we were using was pretty worn, and as much as she tried, she couldn't get the ignition to recognize it. She explained to my why, what the mechanism inside the ignition looked like, and why it wasn't the key, but that it was the ignition. She then quoted my what it would cost to have the other technician at auto Locksmith San Jose rekey the ignition. While I am still deciding if I want to rekey the ignition (or just continue to use the valet key), Mary was informative, hard working, and patient during my time down there.
