After a very frustrating experience with a dealer in NYC, I came home and Googled something like, "is there a service that can help you buy a car?" I was just curious and not really seriously looking for a service. However, when I found an article on such services, which mentioned Authority Auto as a particularly good service, I investigated further. The next day, I spoke to Angela, who explained the service in detail. The rate is determined by the price of the car you're looking to purchase and possibly other things, but I was looking for a specific 2025 Toyota Rav4 hybrid which I was pretty sure needed to be ordered, and the dealer I went to was trying to persuade me to take anything other than what I wanted and wasn't willing to order the car. Anyway, even though I wasn't looking to buy a luxury vehicle or even anything unusual, with the fee scale, it was quite reasonable. In the end, I'm not sure if I saved money or just broke even, but what I saved in stress and time was invaluable. Angela found a dealer not too far away in PA that was expecting delivery on the exact car I wanted within the month. She negotiated so that I wasn't paying any extra dealer fees, and the final price was the MSRP set by Toyota (plus the usual taxes, etc. that are unavoidable). Angela kept me in the loop the whole time, letting me know when the car had reached the port, and then reached the dealer. This particular dealer did not deliver the car to your home (apparently some of them do and she would have arranged that), but the sales person Angela dealt with did offer to pick me up, even though I was about 90 minutes away. I gladly accepted! I should also add that the car arrived at the dealership right before New Year's, and Angela was away. One might expect in a situation like this for one's case to be passed to someone who was currently in the office, but that's not what happened. Angela stayed in touch with me the whole time, called the morning that the dealer was going to pick me up to go over what would be happening at the dealership, and also explained that if I was interested in anything that the dealer offered me there, I should have them call her to negotiate the price. In fact, I did exactly that when there was something I wanted, and after speaking with the finance manager, Angela confirmed that the offer being made was one from Toyota without any price padding from the dealer. Right from the start of this whole process with Angela and Authority Auto, I felt relief and a sense of, "I never want to buy a car any other way again." I still feel that same way now. I'm very, very grateful for Angela and that a fantastic service like Authority Auto exists. Please don't hesitate to contact them about what you are looking for. I thought I could pull it off myself buying a new car in a tough market but after one really bad dealer experience, in which I finally got my money refunded, I turned to Authority Auto. I too was a bit skeptical at first but I knew that I needed help after a very bad experience.
