Update time!! Since…read moremoving to Howell in 2013, I have eaten at China Moon as well as take out --- a lot. You can't Dine-in anymore since covid, but that doesn't stop this family from enjoying the delicious food here. Due to my health issues, I tend to get under the weather often---- so I have to just say that whenever I am feeling under the weather which can be often- my hubby and Mini-Me head right over to Linda's. I am a repeat order and she always has it ready for pick up. 2 large hot and sour soups, house fried rice and veg lo mein. On day 1 I love the HS soup broth, day 2 the soup vegetables with the rice, day 3 I repeat with the broth and day 4 vege and leftover rice and day 5 veg lo mein, this method works for me, and helps my body get back on track. Linda totally understands that her food makes me feel loads better and I able to get out of bed and function- I am not saying she is a miracle worker but...... after 10+ years of this, whenever I am sick- I can only say- that her restaurants hot & sour soup is my happiness, gets me out of bed able to work. Okay - and the rest of my family pretty much loves everything on the China Moon menu. Ingredients are fresh and if you have not tried the chicken wings, you have too, my husband really likes them. Family owned restaurant and I most appreciative of the hard work and dedication to their business. Support Local!

Brand: 5/5 Howell Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant located in Howell Plaza in Howell Township, and specifically serves Szechuan and Cantonese cuisines, which I appreciate. I really like the logo of Howell Kitchen with the leaping fish. The outdoor sign itself gets to the point with its name and Chinese characters. Inside, the grand wall art invites you with its realistic detail, and the wooden tiles give the establishment an authentic feel. Website: 5/5 It has a pretty good design, with a first impression that easily captures any curious passersby, a gallery of the menu items, and an option to scroll down smoothly. I do like the section that shows quotes from famous cooks. Most of the items on the menu have their own images. Wait Time: 5/5 I experienced no delays or issues while waiting for my order. I finished half of a page of fiction writing when my order arrived. Ambiance: 5/5 The establishment had no music, and it really did not need it. The machines in the kitchen gave off a strange, soothing cadence, making me think they already had music. I especially liked my booth, since it felt as though I sat within an establishment within an establishment, with the decorative wall art, the comfortable seats, and the large table. Despite the small space, the interior uses as much space as it allows with that booth being an example. As for the menu selection, you have a large array of options of Chinese cuisine. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Shrimp Egg Foo Young with sides of white rice and sauce. Every part of the meal had a well-prepared steam. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young had good texture along with the vegetables, even if it became difficult to cut with a plastic fork. While I could barely taste the shrimp, I could definitely taste the eggs and the vegetables. On their own they have an overall, unassuming taste, but dipped in the sauce and it has a pizza-like taste. I tried to use the sauce on the white rice as well, along with the complementary soy sauce, which definitely made the rice more savory and softer. Service: 5/5 I had no issues with the staff, whether it came to my order or the overall service. Cost: 5/5 Howell Kitchen manages to maintain a steady brand when it pertains to their food. Americans typically don't know about the distinct cultural identities throughout China, so I appreciate Howell Kitchen for specifying that they serve Szechuan and Cantonese cuisines. They look especially exquisite on their website menu, almost enticing anyone to place an order immediately. The wait time it took to prepare the Shrimp Egg Foo Young definitely matched the quality of the dish, since clearly the staff care deeply about the food they make and the establishment. The ambiance immersed me into the dining experience, and it did not try my patience while waiting for the order. Based on my first experience, I will say that it matched the standard appearance of a Chinese restaurant, with a tiny space and a view of the cooking process. However, what stood out was getting to sit nearby the painting, as though I became immersed into the landscape. The ambiance finds its way into the website as well. In order to enhance the Chinese cuisine within the website, my personal suggestion is to add quotes about Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine from throughout Chinese history. When I take into account the Shrimp Egg Foo Young, the rice, the sauce, the experience, and the effort to travel to Howell Plaza, I will definitely say that the price was worth it, and I got to introduce myself to a new dish. Rating: 5/5 Stars I enjoyed my experience in Howell Kitchen and I have hope that it will continue to represent Howell Plaza. I would consider it my first choice the next time I arrive at the plaza. Recommend To... Anyone nearby the plaza looking for Chinese food.

In fact some of the fried food gives you heartburn probably because they don't replace the frying oils until it's totally burned. Their soup taste more like water than a soup. Even a Pork Fried Rice which was always very good, lost it taste. It is more like a white rice. It seems this place keep changing owners or cooks. Their prices are going up but it does not justify the bad quality. Time to find another place because I'm running out of heartburn medications!

There are multiple kiosks to order food when you walk in. There was a sign, that read 5-10 minutes per order. My order took 20 minutes. The cashier did say the food was getting ready a few times, but it did feel like it took a long time. I ordered a buffalo schnitzel salad, and my friends ordered a few other things. I found the schnitzel (chicken based) sweeter than I expected but it was good quality. I requested the dressing on the salad, which was a mistake. The dressing was good but there was too much, and the salad came out soggy. I would reccommend getting the dressing on the side. Everyone I was with said they enjoyed their food. One last positive was we did get A LOT of food.

Website: 10/10 It compliments an eatery as unique as Glatt Bite well with its simple color scheme and prestigious logo. Functionally, the website is easy to navigate, and scrolls smoothly. Most of the menu items have their own images on the sides. Brand: 8/10 The cursive "GB" signature gives the Glatt Bite brand a fancy prestige. Though, the physical sign outside can be misleading in terms of aesthetics. However, do not let appearances fool you. There is a whole banquet hall just a few steps from the lobby. This banquet hall definitely exhumes the eloquence of a fancy restaurant, for thin fluorescent lights shine throughout the dark walls decorated with horizontal animal canvases. Ambiance: 9/10 The electronica playing over the radio did not become too intrusive. Although nobody came to the banquet hall yet, I can see how it would accommodate 100 people, as the website stated. The tables had a symmetrical alignment on two sides, and were spaced well enough. Although we did not get served directly, we relied on a tablet that takes our order from an app called Curbngo. The app functioned well without any trouble. Service: 10/10 The patient staff accommodated us whenever we needed it, particularly since I never used up-to-date technology in an eatery before. We reserved a seat even though we came minutes before opening. The staff also finalized our orders with friendly candor. Wait Time: 10/10 With the use of Curbngo, any time spent waiting is cut greatly. Even when we waited to place our orders, I took as much time afforded to me to write without interruptions. Food: 9/10 The unique kosher food selection has plenty of culinary influences, from Yiddish to American to Chinese. It is officially certified as a kosher establishment by the Kashrus Council of Lakewood. Indeed, many of the menu items uphold that kosher consistency, with the Chinese-inspired meals containing no pork and the sandwiches containing no cheese. I ordered the zinger sandwich on a roll. It consisted of a well-cooked schnitzel with spicy sauce, Russian dressing, and the vegetables typically found within sandwiches. The zinger sandwich managed to have spiciness that did not overwhelm me. The buns barely retained their form, for this sandwich had plenty of sauce and dressing. Indeed, I can see why it is called a zinger sandwich, for there are so many experiences packed within two buns. The Russian dressing gives it the tangy, savory taste, while the zinger sauce makes it spicy. Comes Together Well?: 10/10 For an eatery with a unique item selection, Glatt Bite definitely proves that dietary restrictions encourage forward-thinking instead of stifles it. Small businesses always have to think and strategize beyond their limitations, and Glatt Bite manages to accomplish this. The use of Curbngo would imply that Glatt Bite started to adapt to COVID-19 with options of either "To Stay" or "To Take Out." It also helped me acclimate to an eatery I never frequented as someone who is painfully introverted. I truly appreciate the establishment taking such bold steps to technologically modernize. Yelp prices Glatt Bite with two dollar signs out of three, and they are not kidding. The high prices might be a disadvantage--if it did not have a reason for them. In the case of the responsive technology, the ambiance, and the aesthetics, I will say that the food is worth the price. I rarely went to any kosher eateries as a Gentile, yet I can say that I was well-accommodated and helped introduce me to new styles of cuisines. Rating: 5/5 Stars Glatt Bite gives me hope that local businesses will always have relevance to the communities they feed. I had a pleasant experience frequenting this establishment. Recommend To... Anyone looking for a unique kosher eatery to frequent, for Glatt Bite uses a lot of culinary influences to its advantage. I also recommend to anyone who has never tried kosher food and wants to experience its creativity. I could also recommend it to anyone looking for catering within a banquet hall with dark walls, however because it is a kosher establishment, you might encounter restrictions depending on your event. It never hurts to ask the owners politely.

On the outside, it may not look splendid (only because you have not stepped inside). Concerning the interior, you are welcomed with two portraits the moment you walk inside. It gives you an idea about the simple aesthetics that pervades the establishment. You will find many geisha portraits upon the walls. At the corner, you will find a section that directly sells the seafood. Indeed, the unassuming appearance of a restaurant in a shopping plaza gives way to an interior filled with quiet joy. Website: 4/5 It has a basic design, with the theme typically used for restaurants leading you down to the description and a separate page for the menu. However, it had no images accompanying the menu items. Nevertheless, it functions well enough. Wait Time: 5/5 I experienced no interruptions while awaiting my order, which came quickly. Ambiance: 5/5 I do like the blue, twinkly lights upon the upper parts of the wood-paneled walls that gave the establishment a calm, cool vibe, along with the smoothly low volume of the pop music. There is a large circular light at the center of the ceiling, which I presume is turned out at night or during special events. The seats felt comfortable and the booths and the tables had a tolerable space. Be advised that it is authentically Asian in the sense they do not have forks or knives, rather only chopsticks. So, please know how to use them before coming. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Dream Roll, which is a specialty roll consisting of steamed shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and topped with lobster salad, seaweed salad, and honey sauce. I did enjoy the shrimp which gave it a hearty taste along with the avocado, seaweed, and honey sauce. I should forewarn that their wasabi did get pretty zesty, for it was not the diluted store-bought version (and most certainly not pistachio ice cream). Even as I ate half of a sushi roll, it still held its form and did not completely break apart. Clearly, this specialty roll is a dream encapsulated within a roll. I also had a side of water that came free of charge, which I wish more restaurants start doing more for a liquid that takes little effort to acquire. The prevalence of seafood and vegetables managed to help me get a more healthy meal. Service: 5/5 The owner served during a slow time and accommodated me throughout my time there. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The allure of the specialty rolls and the presence of Japanese and Thai food reflects the brand of Asian Harbor perfectly. Food can definitely speak in a universal language through the sensation of taste. What Asian Harbor tells me is that it has a lot to offer Aldrich Plaza. The website I would say does not evoke the aesthetics well, particularly considering how Americans typically know little about China and Japan (and even little about the rest of Asia). It would help to perhaps teach some Japanese or Thai words and history on the site. At no point did the wait for the Dream Roll feel cumbersome when accounting for the ambiance. The soothing atmosphere made it easy for me to wait as I wrote, and it fits the brand quite well. Just as well, the atmosphere let me immerse myself into the Dream Roll, as though the experience itself was a dream. Overall, I could find nothing seriously wrong about Asian Harbor. My experience was too pleasant to give it a low score. Considering the status of the Dream Roll as a Specialty Roll, I expected it to have a high price, which comes with the ingredients packed into it. I would absolutely consider it my first choice for Asian cuisine, and I would say that the price is worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I enjoyed my first visit to Asian Harbor, and I hope it is not my last, since I have yet to try more sushi rolls. Recommend To... Anyone looking to familiarize yourself with Japanese and Thai cuisines, but are looking for the challenge of using only chopsticks.
