Austonian picked up my rug May 22, 2023. They were two have it approximately 4 weeks to be treated for moths. It is July 10, 2023 and I have not heard from them, so called the main number on website 512-454-8300. The number is out of service. Went to yelp and they had an additional number listed 512-893-8933. A computer answered said to select 1 to continue, brief pause, then hangs up. Beyond perfect - like magic! I have a custom rug and the dyson completely unraveled one of the corners . Note to self, do not use a dyson with agitator on handmade or vintage rugs. I honestly believed it was ruined. I reached out to see if it was possible to at least repair it so it doesn't continue to unravel They have an amazing process to collect photographs of the damage. They gave me an estimate & scheduled the repair. I was completely prepared for it to look like a repair when they were done. You cannot tell it ever happened. Austonian Rug Cleanind did an amazing job cleaning an Indian Rug we inherited from the previous owners of our new house. It had taken some beating over the years. I took it in and the owner told me that I could probably buy a new rug if the same quality for a bit more than the price to clean it up. I told him I didn't mind having them clean it up. I have been remiss in writing this review. One morning this summer we had a coffee spill on a rug. I wasn't aware of the spill until early afternoon. I tried to clean it with no luck. I thought the rug was probably ruined. I had had other rugs cleaned by Austonian and thought maybe they could save it. I called them, they ask if the stain was still wet, they told me to bring it right then. It was during Covid 19. They came out and took it out of my car and told me they would treat the stain immediately. They called the next day with an estimated and saved my rug. Mike and the entire Austonian crew are the kinds of artisan and service professionals you hope you'll find. They were recommended to me by the person from whom I acquired a fine old Persian rug. They took a look at the rug and gave me a fair quote for cleaning and minor repairs. In addition, they spooled the rug on a large dowel and covered it to be stored until we were ready to put it in a new house. For one reason and another, we waited several weeks to pick up the rug. By the time we picked it up, we were ready to put it down in the new house and didn't need the storage wrapping. Mike removed the covering material and the charge for storage and packing materials. When we picked up the rug, we brought in a smaller soumak and asked if they could clean it in just a few days so we could get it back in time for Thanksgiving guests. They cheerfully agreed and we picked up the rug on Wednesday before guests arrived. Their prices are absolutely fair, though perhaps not the lowest in town. But better than the price, the whole team will take the time to explain the work that is necessary and the pricing structure. I purchased a large area rug from Louis Shanks 19 years ago, and we knew nothing about it. It resides in our family room, where it receives daily living by grandkids, pets, etc. We were told by another rug cleaning company in Austin that it had a tea wash on it and it could never be cleaned or the tea wash would come off. We used Host dry cleaner when a spill happened, but otherwise the rug had never been cleaned in 19 years. A google search found Austonian, and Mike, and I am so glad we finally had our beautiful rug cleaned. Mike told us so much about the rug, where it was made and how - he is SO knowledgeable! They did a beautiful job on it, and my rug has now been restored to it's former beauty. It is brighter now, which I love. The tea wash on my rug did not come off, but Austonian could have reapplied if that had happened. Highly recommend this company if you have a fine rug, they will take good care of it! read more

OMG amazed at the restoration job they did on a antique kilim rug that my new puppy tried to eat. I cannot figure out which corner the puppy chewed up...it looks that amazing! To complete this job they also gave the rug a proper cleaning and it looks better than it ever has. Just amazed at the vibrant colors and even got the bubble gum off of it!
