I can't say enough good things about this company, its owners, and their incredible collection. We…read moreabsolutely love the rugs we purchased. I've had the pleasure of meeting everyone there--from Mr. Kaskas, who founded the business, to his sons Safi and Sam, as well as their employee, Austin. Every one of them is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely helpful, with an impressive variety of rugs across both galleries. I was also struck by how long the family has been in business here in Austin and by their outstanding reputation for both sales and services, including cleaning and repair. We began by purchasing one large rug for our living room, but I soon became fascinated by rug history and craftsmanship and went deep into researching different styles and techniques. Safi generously shared his expertise, explaining each rug's origin, age, materials, and durability. We selected several rugs in the gallery, and they brought them to our home--because nothing compares to seeing a rug in your own space. Safi helped guide me through the final decisions, truly understanding my taste and, more importantly, my reasons for choosing certain pieces--not just for value or price, but for their history, artistry, and craftsmanship. Because of this enriching experience, we ended up purchasing rugs for the rest of our home. I'm completely in love with all of them and feel a sense of joy every time I walk through the house. We now have a beautiful collection and, I suspect, a lifelong passion for rug collecting. I highly recommend Kaskas Rug Gallery--you will be very well served by them.

After 100 years, a family heirloom carpet has been restored!…read more I kept my great-grandmother's 9 x 14 rug in a closet for 25 years because I didn't know what to do with it. It was too big for my dining room, had wavey marks across the entire rug from being improperly stored and my husband didn't like it. Then I called Wooden Looms Rug Gallery. Mike, one of two brothers and a wife who owns Wooden Looms listened to my carpet's story and had the knowledge, skill and vision to restore its beauty. Knowledge: Although my husband felt the rug was dingy and worn, Mike inspected the rug and was able to reassure him that it wasn't worn and would no longer be dingy after a good washing. Mike identified the rug as a Chinese Art Deco rug, a valued antique in California. My great grandmother acquired it in the 1920's when a tenant moved out of her apartment building in San Francisco and left it behind. Skill: Mike and his brother Sam carefully measured the rug and calculated how they could cut it in order to save its beautiful floral designs in the corners. The rug had a scruffy old fringe. After cutting the rug, Mike unknotted enough of the rug's 100 year old warp threads to knot by hand a beautiful new fringe. What an amazing skill to have here in Austin! Vision: Mike could see that I loved that old rug. He helped my husband see its value and potential. Mike and Sam delivered the beautiful old rug to our house Monday night and it is perfect. Thank you so much to Wooden Looms Rug Gallery.

You can get approximate quotes via email or even right on the website, and they send plenty of reminders and updates leading up to the appointment, even a day of notification letting you know your cleaner is on the way. Jerry arrived right on time and was incredibly polite and professional. He wore booties to protect the carpet and was able to quote me on a king headboard and our dining room chair seats that didn't really have preset pricing online. In about 2 or so hours he cleaned 2 large rugs, a large sectional, dining room chair seats, and a king headboard. Pricing felt very reasonable compared to several other companies I had looked at, and everything looks great so far. The sectional especially looked brighter and the cushions felt more fluffed up afterward. We also had some bubbling in the rugs and the cleaning helped quite a bit with that. The only odd thing I noticed was a slight oily-type smell during cleaning and when walking into the house after leaving and coming back, but it dissipated and none of the actual furniture smells like that. There really isn't much of a scent at all. I think I was expecting some kind of fresh fragrance, but this was also our first time having furniture professionally cleaned, so maybe that's not even a thing. Overall, easy booking, great communication, fair pricing, and professional service. I'd definitely use Hart's again and would recommend them.

When I returned to the house the next day, I noticed tiles had popped up in the utility room. I texted Jerry & the owner, David. David immediately got back to me & came to the house. He said in all his years, he's only seen this one other time. Fortunately, I had spare matching tiles for David & Jerry to put down. David did a great job matching the grout color. It wasn't Harts Steam Cleaning's fault that the tiles were poorly set, but thankfully, they are insured & can make everything right. David's prompt response really put me at ease. They said it would take a week to get them done. A week came and went, and we waited another week before we texted Jerry on 08/26/25 to check the status of the chairs. He said they would have them ready and delivered the following Thursday, 09/04/25, more than 3 weeks from the day they picked them up. Then, claiming a "busy schedule this week", Jerry asked if they could deliver them on Saturday, 09/06/25. Given all this, I was still willing to give them 5 stars because the chairs looked great when they delivered them. Unfortunately, after reclining in them for 2 days or so, we started to notice a lump in the back of one of the chairs. I contacted Jerry to inform him of the lump on 09/09/25. He said, "Will have to come by look at it but out of town till the 23". I have texted him twice, starting on 09/24/25, with no response. I think I have been more than patient with this company! So that is why I am giving them 1-star.
