I normally do not take the time to write a review, but I wanted to make sure the word was out for anyone thinking of using Posh Floors in Bee Cave. I walked in the store at the beginning of my "DIY" house remodel. The owner seemed nice, professional, and trust worthy. So much so that I agreed to her $140,000 proposal. Yes, you read right! She told me the entire job would be finished in 2 weeks. I found that hard to believe, but she said no problem, so I trusted her. I am writing this review because I want you to be aware of what $140,000 at Posh Floors gets you. I don't mind paying big bucks for a job well done, but that is not what I got. Here are some thing to be aware of if you are thinking of using this place. My house has a high end, diamond plate plaster on the walls. We started this project making sure all knew we were not planning on repainting. It's so sad how the granite/wood/tile subs left our walls. None of the subs tried to protect our walls with plastic or tape in anyway. We were left with huge gashes/holes all over, and we ended up having to hire a paint sub to fix everything. Also, our walls are a yellow color. All the new quartzite we picked was creamy. For some reason, the granite guys used bright white caulk everywhere, even after I had asked them not to. Again, we had to have a paint crew fix, which would have been easily prevented if they just would have used almond color caulk! The granite guys also removed our 2cm backsplash around our sinks, and replaced with 3cm backsplashes -no big deal, except for the fact that they drilled the faucet holes in the same spot they were before, which meant there was not enough room to install my old faucets. I ended up bearing the cost of buying all new faucets to keep the project moving, since they had already glued down the thicker splashes. Then, they removed two of my sinks that were attached to air conditioning condensate drains. Instead of telling us that water was leaking, they grabbed our bathroom garbage cans and all the nearby towels they could find, and shoved them under the sinks. I only found out about it when I noticed water on the floors! On to wood flooring. As they were laying wood upstairs, we kept hearing a nail gun. Turns out, instead of using tape to hold the floor down as they were laying it, they were nailing the wood down, which may not be an uncommon practice, except they chose to nail the boards in the center of the wood planks, instead of hiding in the joints. After we figured this out, 2 of the guys spent 2 hours filling the nail holes with wood putty. And, after 3 Bona cleanings, that wood putty is gone! As for our downstairs wood -after Posh owner informed us we could get the wood guys to undercut the baseboards, instead of applying quarter round, we thought that would be a much cleaner look. Well, it might have been if they would have used a saw with a sharp blade! They ended up making a huge mess, and we ended up with a bunch of jagged cuts, and, while trying to fix the imperfections in the gaps, they smeared more white caulk everywhere! Again, we had to pay a paint crew to fix all the caulk lines. And, they attempted to immediately lay our high dollar wood floor as soon as it was delivered to our house. They looked at me like I was just a dumb home owner when I asked about acclimation. I ended up calling the manufacturer who said my warranty would be void unless the wood had been properly acclimated. And, finally, on a day no workers were expected to be at my house, the head guy just walked in my front door - no phone call, no knock or ringing of the doorbell. This was a good reflection of the attitude of most the workers on this job - they had no respect for our home. And, sadly enough, as I brought most of my concerns up to the owner, her attitude was the same. Her common reply was "looks good to me", or when the subs left my front porch a complete mess, she said, "I thought you planned to have it cleaned anyway." Words of advice -1)Make sure you double check all her quantities and pricing - we were left over with so much material (that we paid twice as much as we should have for). She did take some of it back, but with 25/35% restocking fees! 2)Interview her subs before they step foot in your house! 3)Ask her what will happen if tile comes in and looks different from the sample, 4)Be prepared to spend a lot after her subs leave cleaning up their screw ups, 5)Be prepared for the owner to not acknowledge any mistake or fault her guys or she makes, and 6)Be prepared to run the job yourself. I have more specifics to share(missing tile/inflating quantities of an add on to recoup costs) but no more space left. I do not mind paying over for a job well done, but, be wary when you step foot in here. Price does not equate to a quality job. All is fixed now, but it's sad we had to go through so much, and wanted to warn others. All pics are of final condition we were left with before we hired our crews to fix. read more
