AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I had this company come out to seal a tiny chip in my windshield I had gotten on the way to work the same morning. They completely botched the repair and ended up cracking my windshield that has now grown to go almost across the length of my windshield. When I called the owner to discuss, he was extremely rude and unapologetic. Sexist, too. He asked how much my insurance deductible was and when I told him $500, he offered me a "Sweetheart deal." $600 to replace my windshield (claiming that is at cost for them). Would he have offered a "Sweetheart deal" to me if I were a man? Doubt it. Probably would have treated me with respect rather than being a complete asshole. Stellar work. Long story short, I had previously been scheduled with another company who was becoming more and more disorganized. I called these folks just before noon and was told to expect a follow up call shortly. They were here at my office just after 2 PM and done in about 20 minutes. The tech arrived on time and finished the installation sooner than he estimated. Five stars for the installer (super nice and professional), but minus two stars for failing to be on time and not communicating about the delay. We were given a time window of 10a-4p with the promise to call when they were on their way (30 min ahead of arrival). By 2p we had not heard from anyone, so we called and were told that the installer had a full schedule that day but would be there within the promised time frame or they would call us back. No call back, and didn't hear from the installer until almost 5p. I understand busy days, but you've got to communicate. Be upfront with your customers and set realistic timeframe expectations. It is unfair to your customers to not give realistic time frames, and it's also unfair to your installers who then get to deal with frustrated customers. You guys can do better here. read more

Service was great. They had a little trouble finding me but when he did I was able to leave the tech at my car to replace the windshield. He offered a nationwide guarantee on the installation. Austin Windshields responded quickly the next morning after a late night message when my rear window broke out. They came to my place of work before 11am the next morning and quickly and efficiently replaced the window and cleaned out all the broken glass even going around my kids toys in the back of the van :) The installer was also flexible in that I was teaching a class and couldn't stay for the installation so I left him with my keys and payment and he did all the work and just dropped them back to me.
